GT Academy 2015 "Prelude To A Dream" Time Trial Series

Sorry guys, been very, very sick in the hospital. Still not doing well. Have no idea when/if I'll be back. Again, my sincerest apologies. Good luck in the Academy everyone as it looks like all my hopes and dreams have come to an end here. I'll be watching and rooting for all of you. God Bless you all and thanks for the participation and friendships, you all will be remembered and missed greatly, along with my time here on these forums.

Sincerely,
Mitch.

Damn man... Sorry to hear this :(
I want to thank you Mitch, for putting this here for all of us.
I wish you all the luck in the world and I hope you recover well, as fast as possible! 👍

Sorry to hear Mitch - your health is the most important thing so wishing you a speedy recovery and hope to see you again around these parts soon!

Thanks for the well wishes guys, very much appreciated and helps to keep my spirits up. I said this in a response to a comment in my status, but I'll say it again here. I had another, major this time, stroke. The effects of the stroke has left it very difficult to even type, so I probably won't post much in the foreseeable future, but I for sure will be lurking. Reading these forums helps keep my spirits up and also helps pass the time. Keep up the great work everyone and look forward to seeing everyone here reach their Academy goals, I'll be rooting for you all. God Bless, and race hard everyone.

Mitch

I know how much GT Academy ment to you, and how bad you wanted a dream to come true from reading different posts from last year. Get well soon and take your time, I wish you the best of luck in everything that you do. And also thank you for everything that you've done for this community.

Sincerely,
Jeff

Ah man, thats terrible! Keep fighting mate! Dont let your illness get you down. I wish you a speedy recovery, and hope that you one day will reach that goal. After all this hard work I've seen you put down towards it, you truly deserve it.

I sincerely hope you get better asap, Mitch. You're by far the most dedicated GT player I've come across  & I can only imagine how not being able to play must affect you. :( Stay as strong & positive as you've always been & I'm sure you'll get back in that seat again! 👍 (I too won't be posting any more (Hi daan. 'Bye daan) - self-imposed exile here... )

Vaya con Dios...

These are very sad news Mitch. :(
I wish you all the best and hope your recovery goes on well. Hopefully we will see you back on track in future, stay strong mate.

Just want to update everyone here on my status. I finally made it home from the hospital today but still have a very, very long road to recovery. My stroke has left my motor and dexterity skills severely limited and the doctors say that I probably won't make a full recovery but through intensive physical therapy I can improve my condition somewhat. So, for the time being, I am only able to play with the DS3 and even that is going to be difficult. I am going to have to go through the learning curve all over again, just like I never played before. With the Academy coming up, I just don't know if I'll recover enough to be able to use my wheel, but you can bet that I'll be putting in every effort I can to be ready and able to at least participate. Its going to take some kind of miracle to get back to my former skillset and competitness, but as the true warrior that I am, you can bet the farm I will be doing everything I can to make it happen. I recovered from a near fatal car accident some 5 years ago, so I will also overcome this.....somehow, some way. I will NOT be denied at least a chance to fulfill my dream of being a finalist in the Academy. So, that's how things are for me at the moment. I would again like to take this opportunity to say thanks to everyone here, and throughout the rest of the forums, for your support and well wishes. You all have no idea how much that means to me and how it lifts my spirits. This is a great community full of great people and I am truly blessed to have you all as friends here. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart and God Bless this great community.

Getting ready to log in for the first time now so we'll see how it goes. Stay fast everyone and race hard.

I am sorry to see you have had a bad time recently. Having just escaped ( discharged myself ) from Hospital today I know what it means to get home.
Glad you have a dream, something to strive for, take it easy, with one small step at a time you'll be surprised where it takes you. Keep driving and all the best in your recovery.

Never in my life have I met someone as dedicated to a single goal as you Mitch. You're an inspiration to us all. Hoping for the best in your recovery. I'll support you through this difficult time.

-Andrew

Thanks Andrew, means a lot to me. Especially coming from someone like you who it seems I have known forever. I think I met you when you were just a little sprout  around 14 years old in GT5. I remember you struggling to make top 100 and now look at you. Watching you move up the ranks and mature from a young teen to a young adult has also been an inspiration to me. My how time flies as it just seems like yesterday we were all trying to make things happen as far as the online TT's go. Appreciate your friendship and helpful advice over the years Andrew, really means a lot to me. Here's to many more years of GT fun.

I always make it in the top 100 in the seasonal events , you think I have a chance in this ?

I would say yes you can. I made it into the top 100 usually, but it took me some time (chasing ghosts and watching replays) to crack the top 50s.

I would think with the leaderboards a lot less active now a days, a better indicator would be top 50s.

It's a good start although tuning throws a wrench into comparisons. That and time trials are no substitute for wheel to wheel racing. It's a different animal going up against other people, especially in a different environment with a foreign setup when everything is on the line.

the more you get closer to the top the harder its become to improve your time . Yesterday I played more than 4 hours without seeing any improvement I don't know if you guys experience the same thing because I got to a stage where I said maybe thats my limits :(

you can't tune your car in the vision gt tt . all the times are done with the same setup so its the driver ( or gamer lol ) who makes the difference . the others time trials where you choose your car and tune it I don't put a lot of effort in it because the car has a major effect in your time .
