Just to make it clear, we still have to upload the replay & photo of the drifting (sub) challenge, right?
Two wheels on track at all times for the lap to qualify?

How about offering the sub challenge for racers 4th place & below? ;)
But the points should be 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.

The jgtc point system is too far apart.
We can look at this as putting weight penalties (?) on fast cars in jgtc.
Sorry if I'm not making sense.

@psp88

To answer your first question, I would say say. Two wheels must be on the tarmac at all times, and please do upload screenshot & ghost data. As for the second question, I will take this into consideration for Season Two. Please keep these suggestions coming, this will only better each passing season.👍

I have a good feeling that we'll see at least 1'05's - 06's at the end of this challenge.

niigaki
if you reach the 1'05,XXX i´ll retire from this Championship and you will gain 2nd Overall place:tup:

I´m stuck at 1'08,XXX:tdown:

I dunno man... mid 1'05s is a good time with R3s, but these R1s are slick as duck poop. I think mid to low 1'07s will be the limit. I ran with R3s and compared my times to the JGTC qualifying times posted in Justin's old thread just to make sure I was competitive here on HSR, and I was... and the 1'07 I ran on R1s was pushing pretty damn hard.

Definitely need to tighten up my line and final exit out of the S section, though. Will have to wait until after work to run more laps.

I only said that to scare people lol. Yeah I hit 1'05 during Justin's event but with R3's. I am currently at 1'07.1xx and I know I can break 1'06 if I spent more time but finals are this week.

Well dang, a 1'06 might be in the cards after all... I knew my line through the S section was scruffy, but I didn't think it'd be worth that much... ok, new goal for after work: 1'06.9

well after some wonton soup, a shot of vicks cold med. 1'06.949 was achieved. I doubt I can beat this, it was finally a perfect lap out of 50.

Nice... so 1'06.9 seems like a good benchmark. I'll be doing my worst pretty soon! :)

Off topic, but is anyone else excited to get the new GT Academy time trial underway tomorrow? If I'm competitive there, I may dedicate my free GT time to that rather than this... being an American, I can't shoot for the real prize, but the Indy 500 trip would be fun. I'm much better with the wheel and pedals anyway... can't wait to see how I manage to compare to the rest of the US enthusiasts... and the international crowd as well. I wasn't able to put any time into the 2008 challenge (rough times back then, lost my dad)... but from the looks of the old thread about it, it's going to be VERY close in the end.

oh trust me Glubags, you aren't the only one who will be pushing for that Indy500 trip :) But I won't start till after this Friday, because Friday is the day of 2 of my finals for Business and Econ. :indiff:

Oh I know, there's going to be a LOT of competition, even state-side. :) Can't wait. And you just reminded me of the main reason I'm thrilled to be done with school... lol.

So it took me 23 laps, and I can still improve a good bit (I was neck and neck with my old ghost on the split before the S on this lap... I've been 0.140 ahead of it on another lap where I went too slow through the S)... so there should be at least that much time to make up.

1'06.5xx should be realistic for me.

Dedicated last night for the sub challenge & still didn't beat Glubags' score.
Drifting is not as easy as it looks.
I'll attack the HSR tonight & be content if I reach a low 1:07.
Reached the 1:05s with R3s before.

Edit:
I'm guessing S1.5 will take a back seat when GT5 TT comes out in a few hours.
What will happen to S1.5?

OH WHAT THE ****:scared:

Even though GT5 TT is coming out tomorrow, the season will still continue. I still want to make sure that I am being loyal to those who are taking the time to compete in this season and future events. 1.5 will still continue!!

Edit.

@ glubags

What kind of setup do you have? I just have a DFP steering wheel, my brother has a G25. Hopefully we can climb the top of the ranking boards.

That's good to hear. 👍

OH WHAT THE ****:scared:

I did one better! 1'06.478, and I have been up to a tenth ahead of it before the S section... but from that point on it always catches me. I took the S section and last turn damn near perfectly on this ghost, but didn't take the first and second turns as fast as I possibly could. I tried for 50+ laps to beat it, though, coming as close as 0.003 at the end, but nothing yet. Hopefully I'll have a 1'06.3 tomorrow... done for the night.

hey Glubags, if you have a Japanese PSN account. You might want to download the TT demo. I can't wait till tomorrow, so I am getting it now to try it out haha

I gave it a shot with my friend's japanese account and ran a lap with the DS3 with the stock car. I was very sad to see that TCS couldn't be turned off, but oh well. This is going to be EXCELLENT.

Oh, and I totally forgot to answer your question earlier. I've got a G25 + Playseat.

HAHAHAH I KNEW IT.

I turned the TCS off. It's weird, I downloaded it with my Japanese PSN. I am playing it on my US account and its all in english. Currently @ 19th with a 1'40.0xx and the fastest lap for the tuned 370z is 1'39.7xx.

I turned the TCS off.

I meant with the stock car. I never tried the tuned one. Stock car's TCS is locked at 7.

I'm off to work... can't wait to get home and hook up the old G25 and get some laps in on the US version.

i won´t beat ur time here glubs :-/
not even the drift challenge
damn this will be a close Championship i guess:nervous:

^ You're really damn close to beating both! I wouldn't give up just yet... I almost gave up at Tsukuba in the Civic but managed to go back to it and put together a winning lap in the end.

Also, I just got approved to be off tomorrow (it's super slow this time of year; just about everyone in the agency is taking off for the holidays... asked my supervisor if I could join them and he said no problem... woo!) so I assume I'll be playing the GT5 TT challenge most of the day tomorrow... but I will definitely take a break to put in a time for the next challenge here.

Edit: Urataman is currently ranked 3rd overall in the Asian region in the GT Academy TT Challenge. :)

On the first day of competition, I got a 1'06.806 pretty quickly. But further laps never showed any improvement... until very early this morning (almost 4am). Even then, I only marginally reduced my time to a 1'06.726. I could continue running laps in an attempt to knock off a couple of tenths, but I'm not that motivated! Plus, I'm hopeful that this time will be good enough not to finish in last place this week (fingers crossed!).

1'06.726

bleh still stuck at 1'06.5xx. going back to studying for my finals. ill update the time sheet later tonight.

I'm taking the last place for this challenge if I don't improve my time over lunch.
Would you believe that I still can't even break into the 1:06s?
I got a 1:07.0xx & totally forgot to save it. :banghead:

I'll post my drift score & whatever time I have after lunch just to salvage points.

EDIT:
Is it really necessary in GTpsp to blip the throttle when downshifting?
Will it make any difference?

You can't really blip the throttle like in real life in GTpsp. Well, when you say blip the throttle are you referring to heel and toe? If it was possible, I would because it would really make a difference going into corners and still being able to carry the a high speed. One suggestion would be to machine gun accelerate through corners.

I think I actually did better on my drift run rather than the time trial :) Also I don't have a "single competition" option in my game for drift, only "Full Lap Drift" and "Sectional Drift" :odd: I just went with sectional drift because it seems to be the most similar to "single competition", and I'm hoping the only difference is the name. Must be something to do with the region the game is from.
