i meant, two wheels in the dirt, and two wheels on the racing curbs.

I understand why you brought this up. It really depends because I believe on Tsukuba, the whole car was on the rumble strip on the last turn which I don't think is cheating because it won't lower your time by anything. Unless you guys found away to hack the Hex Code to use Nos. Just kidding :yuck:

I managed to break into the high 1.58's, however I went a bit wide on turn 10 and I'm pretty sure my entire car was up on the curb. I don't think I gained any time from that at all but I'll try and run a cleaner lap to be fair 👍

Same story here... my fastest lap at the moment has me just barely crossing the white line of the track (putting all four tires on the strip) on the exits of turns 1 and 2. I don't think it helped at all (pretty sure I can still go a bit faster) but I definitely want a cleaner lap.

Edit: I've gone faster now, but had the same problem on the exit of turn 1... slid onto the outside strip.

Edit: All off-track problems solved. :D

I can´t "quick tune" my spinter!?!:boggled:

Slatz, you need to press Triangle on the car in the car selection screen to add it to your Favorites. You can have up to 30 cars marked as Favorites at a time, and only those 30 cars can be quick-tuned. Seems the Sprinter isn't in one of your Favorites slots (a star appears in the bottom left corner of the car's picture on the car selection screen if it's marked as a Favorite).

I actually love this car... had a lot of fun with it at Suzuka East in Season 1... definitely takes some throttle (and brake) feathering to pull out a quick lap.

Urataman seemed to think this car could break into the 1'57s... looking forward to his lap!

I just put together what I felt was a near-perfect lap... but running with the ghost I've found two corners where all the tire-spinning slowed me down a little and allowed me to gain on it... haven't beat it again yet, but it seems like I could take maybe another tenth or two out of it... possibly more. LOVE this track.

Edit: Beat it by just under 2 tenths... but exiting corners 1, 4, and 9, I used absolutely as much of the track as possible, keeping my inside tires on the white line separating the track and rumble strip. Here's a pic of the turn 9 exit as an example:

Not sure if that's acceptable. Niigaki? I still have the ghost that's about two tenths slower with nothing this close... my inside tires are still on the tarmac/white line here, I just don't know if it's too close for you guys.

There is going to a little special event during the next challenge I have lined up. You will be able to earn some bonus points during this event.

Sub Challenge # 1
December 15th - December 17th
Amuse S2000 Street Version '04 (S1/S1)
Circuit de la Comunitat Valenciana Ricardo Tormo / Forward
Single Competition Drift Setting Only.

Points will just go like Season One.

10, 9, 8 etc etc etc.

I will try to have some sub events like this in Season Two. I just wanted to see what others think about it. Highest points scored in one session will earn you the top slot.

I just today decided to try this challenge out. I've never driven this car before and I totally hate it. Nothing worse, in my book, than a car that slides around - and this one behaves as if it is on ice. Ugh.

Edit: Is it really fair to give bonus points for a racing competition earned in a drift competition? They are two totally different animals.

Although I do understand what you are saying, I am hoping more people will voice their opinions about this. In my own opinion, I choose drifting only because it would be pointless to add another TA event. I could be wrong myself, usually am haha. I just wanted to add some zest to this competition since we only have 9 serious competitors.

Going back to this current challenge. It has a very long history and has been very successful even to the point of having a AE86 Festival in Japan.

I love this car because with the right setup, this thing can be a beast. Kinda like the Lotus Elise, its lightweight and has a good amount of power to balance it all out.

I hear 'ya.

I do like the idea of a little sub-event for a few bonus points! I guess I just would prefer to keep the same format (hot laps achieved via time trials) and just use a very unusual car - such as something that most people have never driven in GT before. I think something similar to what Glu chose in that season one challenge (before I joined), the 2CV. Maybe a vehicle that is neither a sports or a race car...

Just my two cents!

:)

I'll upload the picture later. I had a time under 1.58, but it was messy and when I tried to get a clean run today I just couldn't do it again. Really frustrated right now :banghead:

EDIT: Having camera problems, I'll see what I can do but I may not be able to get a picture submitted in time.

EDIT 2: I had to stick the camera memory stick into my PSP and transfer it to my computer through the USB connection, but I got it

That's all I can manage after taking 6min of company time ;)
I hit the 1'59 but it was a messy lap for my taste.

Edit: (OT)
I'm having loads of fun with this toy.

I bought a Lightning McQueen for my 5-year old kid but decided to keep it for myself after knowing that its a hard-to-find model.
Besides, he'll break it in a few weeks time  .

Just watched My Sister's Keeper with the fiancée... sad movie.

I gave it 10 more laps and still couldn't beat it, so here's my final submission.

New time over lunch :)
A high 1'58s is definitely possible for me.
I was four tenths plus ahead of this ghost till I messed up Turn 10 :ouch:

One of these days I have to wear my heart rate monitor just to check how many beats per minute I'm getting when I play.

lol, same thing happens to me when I finally put down a lap better than my previous ghost... nerves/adrenaline/heart racing usually makes me dump it in the last corner.

that´s what happend to me @ valencia everytime when i approached the last corner!
anyway
congrats glubags!
what happened to urataman?

what happened to urataman?
I don't know, but I was hoping he'd post a lap faster than you but slower than me so I'd gain 9 points on you instead of 5 :D Oh well.

This is for the sub-challenge. Click:

Edit: I didn't know until now, so I assume there may be others who do not know, so for the screen above: After you've done your best drift run, exit the event, then go back to single player. Before hitting the big "OK" button to enter the event again, make sure the right track is selected, then go to the mode selection and select drift trial again. You'll then be shown this screen with your records for the track selected, but on this screen, the track name is shown below, unlike the records screen within the event itself, which does not show the track name. This screen shows all pertinent information. Hope this makes sense.

I'm skipping all rear wheel drive challenges.. they're just not the same without a G25 :)
(I'll run them on Nurburgring though, i love that track too much!)

Congrats to Glubags for winning the last challenge. Here is C6!

December 15th - December 17th
Nissan MOTUL PITWORK Z (JGTC) '04 (R1/R1)
High Speed Ring / Forward

Not going to let you have it without a fight.

If I hadn't forgotten to post my time for the first challenge, I'd have 8 more points than I do now... so I've really gotta turn on the heat if I want to even catch up to you before the end, let alone beat you.

Also... High Speed Ring!! This'll be fun.

1'07.823 to start. This is probably going to come down to who can get the fastest line through the S corners.
