Already done. :)

I have you beat, but of course I got nervous at the end, and on the very last corner I put the hammer down too early, got sideways, and lost at least a tenth... missed 1'18 by the smallest margin. I'm shooting for a high 1'18.8... low 1'18.9.

So what's your time now?

Jesus my hands are killing me. A 1'18.5 or .6 should be possible if I nail a perfect lap, but I keep throwing it away in one place or another. I've been 3 tenths ahead of my 1'19.062 before the last corner, which if I could have done properly would've been good for almost two tenths more... But I stuffed it on the last sharp left before the final hairpin.

yeah the V Corner and the hairpin are hard to drive!
that is happening all the time to me
to much power for R1 tyres
:P

I can't figure out how to trim another .200 off my current time to even get into the top slot.

edit.

I recorded a little something with my new camera I just bought. I am hoping after youtube renders it in HD, it will come out cleaner then the preview footage shows.

After some work I managed to slowly lower my time from a mid 1:22 to a high 1:20 :) I'm aiming for a 1:19, but I'm a bit busy tomorrow so I doubt I will have enough time to put the proper effort in to improve that much.

still very sloppy but took me less than 5 minutes.

oh snap, i swear I changed it. Ah well lol.

hahaha. Its all good. I was goofing around in the F2007 and almost left the physics on standard. I didnt mean to call you out but only wanted to let it be know the time would not be recognized

All times have been updated as of 9:14am PST. Please note that today is the final day to submit your times, no late time submissions and ghosts will be accepted at 11pm PST. With that being said, I will not be home till early hours of tomorrow because of my friends birthday party in downtown. I will have C3's track up as soon as I get home hopefully :P

damn damn damn....when I thought I beat my 1'19.162 time I saved over that save file....right now its 1'19.3xx so it looks like I'm going to have to try to get the .162 time again :grumpy:

Argh! I made that mistake once, so now every time I run a new best lap, I save a new file for the ghost rather than replacing the old one.

I'm happy to say I'm finally satisfied with my lap for this challenge. I'll update this post with picture and ghost soon.

Still actually a good bit of room for improvement.

Ran a 1'18.753 but it was sloppy--lots of moments of one or two wheels in the dirt, so I'll let the 1'18.781 stand as my final submission... but in running with the faster ghost, I've found 3 corners where I can gain a lot of time on it... all together, I found about 5 tenths over the course of several laps (one lap I'd gain on it by a tenth in one corner, the next a tenth in another corner, etc.) and a whopping 2 tenths or more can be made in the last two corners (twice I was behind on the last split by let's say 0.621, and by the time I'd reached the finish I was only behind by 0.415)... so I believe I could wring out a 1'18.2xx... but that would be the absolute boundary of my abilities. Not going to attempt to string it together anymore, but it's fun to really figure out the limits of these cars and tracks.

Hands... cramped... must... sleep.

1'25.9xx. I love the the first S section at the start of the lap with this car. The GTR can still handle pretty well with some heavy braking. I am curious to see how fast you guys will burn through this course.

The S1 tires are nice... makes the speed much more sensible and natural... but with an AWD car so powerful, it certainly exaggerates the car's tendency to push through the corners... overcoming the understeer on this track with its tight corners is all about choosing the right line, braking early, and getting the car neutrally balanced while entering the corner. Taking most of them with a late apex approach seems to be pretty fast... definitely enjoying this one a lot.

1'24.703. Should've been a 1'24.5xx but I lost traction badly in the last corner, four-wheel drifting across the rumble strip on the exit. I think a 1'23.9 might be possible.
