So I am participating in the Competition102 European GT4 Series in 2016 and I'd like to introduce this project here. We are part of the Reiter Young Stars program by Reiter Engineering (Yes, that's the company with that insane Camaro GT3 in the ADAC GT Masters). In this program, we are one of 8 teams with the KTM X-BOW GTR and will compete in a one-make series inside the GT4 European Series.
The point about this new program is, that three students (2 engineers and one marketing/management student) were assigned (randomly) to two young drivers. In our case, it is Jamie Vandenbalck (young Belgian talent) and Laura Kraihamer (young Austrian talent). We get all the responsibilities that a "regular" Race engineer/Team manager has, just without any experience.
In our team, I am doing the management/marketing job. Our first race is in the pre-program of the Blancpain Series in Monza this weekend and we students have never been to a racetrack for professional motorsports before. If you are interested, I would start a new thread and writing about this experience as a newcomer in motorsports with inside views and thoughts (and pictures!) of a team manager and the race engineers as well as our progress. We have 5 races this season (Monza, Pau, Spa, Hungary and Zandvoort).
Anyone interested in this? I'd start a new thread in the next 2-3 days and describe our experience! If you want to see our car/drivers, just head over to our
