GT Racing - GT1, GT3, Blancpain Endurance Series & National GT SeriesSports Cars

I am very late with the news, but my thoughts and prayers are in loving memory of Neil Cunningham. Also, I hope Andrew Palmer and Jorge De La Torre willl both be alright after learning of that vicious crash.

No matter what the latest news is regarding these drivers, this is just a reminder that motorsports are incredibly dangerous. Regardless of who your favorite drivers are, and regardless of whether you love or loathe certain drivers, they all deserve our love and support for their fearlessness and their bravery. Again- hope for the best for all parties involved.

The only new news about the accident with Palmer and DeLa Torre that I know of is that the local Police are investigating. I would guess it's normal procedure.

I feel for all involved, the drivers, families and teams. I was there at Lime Rock and after the accident the atmosphere was certainly surreal. It was very quiet, though a lot of activity was still happening. There was no sound from any cars, the public address system, the crowd, I think even mother nature was waiting for an answer, any answer to what had just happened.
The first rumour I heard was the worst and my heart sank right away as I had just seen the Bentley being covered with a blue tarp. Seeing tarps on cars are never a good sign. I am relieved to know the rumour was incorrect. Reports from fans were starting to make a little more sense as social media had the first reports about the drivers being transported to the local hospital and then air-lifted to a trauma center. We all have heard the rest.
I think I'm glad to have not seen the actual accident but the Bentley paddock was directly in full view of what happened. I can only imagine what the range of emotions were throughout the paddock.

I hope the drivers make a full recovery.

Here a couple pics from the weekend.

PWC Lime Rock aired today on CBSSN and of course the PR piece at the beginning of the show has about Bentley. Of course they shot that before the 1st race. Palmer's car had multiple onboards in race 1 so hopefully the series will be able to learn what happened to the car.

There's a thread about that accident. There's news there of what happened, as described by a compilation of interviews with people that saw the accident.

After that news this is my pick to win Spa.

Adding more amateur-driver teams to an already crowded field just seems like a terrible idea.

Obviously SRO have one eye on the inevitable self destruction of GT3 within 5 years. Still bizarre move imo.

IMO spa should have 60 cars minimum, the price hike on entry seen the field dwindling over the last 3 years, I dont get I either but I'm not hating seeing more cars,
