Don't...just dont. Don't be that guy that panders for likes with liveries. It isn't worth it.

Personally, I can understand why people like..."likes", it makes you feel good. But don't fall off your rocker because somebody didn't smash that like button. I find my gratification in knowing that someone out there is using something I've created. I still get likes, not many, but enough to know that people have seen my work, and at least someone has used it at some point. I paint what I want, if others like, hell, that's a bonus, but expecting people to like and share, it just feels...more like screams "Hey, you better look at me!"

I'm not saying you need to upload all of you're liveries, what you do with them ks you're business, but when you do, don't disgust yourself over someone not giving that gold star on an exam paper. Just know somebody has it, and is enjoying, isn't that enough?

I don't mean to come off so hard edged here, but to me, it just sounds like you're crying over something that isn't worth crying about. I'm hapoy with knowing somebody, somewhere is happy with what I've done. That's all I need, but you're not me.

Back on topic, all those schemes look great! I'd download the 919 if it were up, but maybe not having it up will drive to make my own. I've done it before.

Anyhoo, nice job.

Not sharing because you dont get likes or whatever sounds a bit “crying for attention” sort off, but nice livery you have there thats a fact!

I share all of them and get few likes sometimes. 1 is enough for me to find it awsome 0 dont care make them for myself in the first place.

If you knew me you would know that's nonsense. I've been sharing liveries since the demo.

What I don't like is people asking me for stuff and then when I share it they don't share it themselves.

Cry for likes? Give me a break.

Kyle Busch livery I made earlier.

Just my 2 cents here, but the fact that you chose to air your dirty laundry about this says something to people.

If you dont want to share your liveries then dont share them. Dont post pictures of them. Dont tell anyone about them.

If you continue to show off your hard work then you're just going to keep getting requests to share and nobody (including you) wants to have to go through this each and every time.

It was kind of a rant, yes. But it wasn't because people ask me to share stuff. I've shared almost all of my liveries without being asked and without expecting anything in return.

My post was more the result of a frustration caused by the fact that there are people who ask others (not only me) to create or share specific liveries and when they get it, they do no share it themselves.

If I didn't want to share anything, I wouldn't. It's not about the sharing, it's about sharing what you asked for. If I see something nice, I'll want others to see it too usually. But if I ask for something that I want, someone gives that to me and then I don't care to share it myself, I'm the one being jealous, not the person who shared it.

As I'd expected, it sounded worse then my intended purpose: tell people to show appreciation and share the good stuff they get from others.

I'm well aware most people don't ask for stuff. It was kind of a rant.

I'll continue to share liveries for sure. I'll probably don't do requests though. Just to avoid that frustration.

Cheers.

I do think it's important for the community to recognise good work. PD have given us the tools to promote the best, so I feel obliged to favourite, repost and comment on liveries I personally download. I also want friends to see the great stuff I find.

It's particularly important for the many great creators who have yet to be recognised widely, some of the very best liveries I have only have a dozen likes. Once they get some recognition, and a following, momentum gathers naturally.

So, I've been busy uploading decals for my own use, and instead of the typical race car design I enjoy doing, I'm taking a scenic route of street racing. Today, we have two Vision GT cars painted in such a way. Not to mention I'm heading back into the world of writing fiction, and I guess doing these to the cars adds personality. The cars you see here are nicknamed "Angel" and "Oni".

Instead of artwork on a car, I went for simple. So, there's like 6 different private decals used here, namely the halo, an angelic symbol, the feather wing, the tribal wing, the hooded figure, and unfortunately, the logo for Circuito de la Sierra, which I forgot to make public.

Oni however, I went for a violent design. There's little here that's bespoke for the car, but it's noticeable enough. There's the Oni logo, and appropriately, an Oni face. Simple enough, I'd say.

They're not for share since, well, nobody drives Group X anyways. Maybe these designs could end up on a Gr. 3 or 4 car, in which they'd be a-OK for a share. More angles for these cars are available on Media.

So why share it here then that you dont want to share anymore? Dont get me wrong i get your point (a bit) but i dont see the problem........ just dont share without crying why you dont share. And if you dont want people to ask you that dont share it anywhere ;)

Don't know if you noticed but I shared a livery on that post too.

Also, I have no problem with people requesting stuff. That happens a lot. The issue was with the few people that ask and then don't share. Nothing about lack of likes, sharing random liveries or whatever. :)

I think in this day and age everyone is used to get content for free (myself included) and almost demand it. So, when I get something I asked for, I at the very least share it. I might be getting old I guess. Well well...

Can someone please upload some Bower & Wilkins emblems??? The speaker brand. I will be very happy with that! Please let me know.....

These discussions about sharing is exactly the reason why I don't share any of my liveries (except the one a member here requested me to make). I've had a few people trying to force me to share my liveries after seeing them in scapes / race photos, and one even calling me childish for not sharing right at that moment while I said I'd share it in a week or so. Sure not everyone is like that but those people are really ruining it. They expect to get everything for free and don't care about the work that's been put into that livery, they just want to quickly grab it and use it for themselves. And why should we have to share anyway? It's an option if you'd like to share or not so lets just leave that up to the creator. Also some people like to use the livery editor for personalization, to have their own unique car in the game. Sharing the livery defeats that purpose since you'll run into some people using your livery and then it's not unique anymore. All I'm trying to say here is that you should just respect the creator's decision to share or not to share.

Here is the livery @zzz_pt was talking about.

That right there is the best livery I've seen yet, really amazing! I can't even imagine the amount of work and hours you put into that. I've seen this kind of wrap on a real car before (Ford GT I think it was), this looks really close to that. Looks really great. :)

Your not getting old, dont do not share because of some people dont do what you expect them to do. Thats just the world, the point about getting it for free..... maybe it would be a nice option that if someone want a design they must pay in game money.

Just post them here to show off and keep them for your self if you dont like it now.

I share my designs because people can see it then and i get some likes what i like ;) My disigns are having all my name on it so i know that nobody will use it. ;) because i make them it the end of the day for myself.

Been working on some custom rally cars. Started out trying to replicate some Escorts onto the Mustang Gr.B, which I've still got to finish.

However, I have now finished these.

Malcolm Wilson Team Total Gold - RAC Rally 1979

#total #doubleg213

Inspired by the car run by Malcolm Wilson (now the boss of the Ford World Rally Team) in the last seventies but utilising the modern Total logo.

No. 28 as that's it's number on the 1979 RAC Rally and the same as the skin I made for Assetto Corsa.

Roger Clark - Cossack Hairspray 1976 RAC Rally Winning Escort

#cossack #doubleg213

One of my favourite ever drivers as a kid and I was lucky enough to meet him several times.

The main logo was made by a friend of mine and I had to kill it quality wise a little but it's still turned out reasonably well.

No.6 as that's the number Roger was running when he won the RAC Rally in 1976 when he was running the Cossack cars.

Interesting side story, the original car was painted at the last minute as the sponsorship was sorted very late in the year, they had to go and buy a can of hairspray, chuck it in the car and then tell the body shop "make it look like the can".

So, I've been seeing all those 458 GT3s, and I've been thinking "Hey! Why not show what's on your plate next week"

spd sneakie.jpg

My first livery uploaded on the open beta was a test run for Messiah Racing on the 458 Gr. 4. Now that I have the GT3 car, I think it's time to amp it up a notch. You're seeing here what's to be the logos, including 2 variants of the words, a scythed reaper (still WIP) that'll make its way on a bootleg Ferrari logo, with the words Messiah on said logo in Ferrari font.

Alongside them is the number for the car, and what appears to be a logo of 458XX, a mashup of the 458 and the Xs from the 599XX. This last one I'm still considering since it sounds too outlandish.

Oh, the decals may not be on share (unless you want that 458XX for some reason), the car will be. And by the time I finish, there's a small bonus. It'll come with this:
