I don't think there's much to say about the gameplay footage in those trailers, but I was interested by something one NeoGAF poster noted:

As Wax has pointed out, they're clearly transitioning to GT7 now. Previous VGT info release

The SRT Tomahawk Vision Gran Turismo has been released on "Gran Turismo 6", available exclusively on PlayStation®3.

On January 30th, Lexus announced the LEXUS LF-LC GT “Vision Gran Turismo”. This car is planned for distribution in a free update for the PlayStation®3 exclusive title Gran Turismo 6 due to be released in spring 2015.

Bugatti release

Ahead of the Frankfurt Motor Show to be held in Germany from the 17th of September, Bugatti has revealed the full-scale show car of “Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo”. This car will be coming exclusively to PlayStation®’s Gran Turismo video game series.

Hyundai release

Ahead of the Frankfurt Motor Show to be held from the 17th of September in Germany, Hyundai has revealed the “Hyundai N 2025 Vision Gran Turismo” and its full scale model. This car will be coming exclusively to PlayStation®’s Gran Turismo video game series.

EDIT: Further to this, if you go to the VGT news section on the Gran Turismo site, you see that all VGT articles are tagged with some combination of "Gran Turismo 6" and "GT6 updates" - with the exception of the Bugatti and Hyuandi articles, which are only tagged under "Vision Gran Turismo".

If I were in the business of rabid speculation - and I'm in the Gran Turismo section of gtplanet, so I am :P - I could rabidly speculate this indicates that these VGTs are not destined to debut in GT6...........

EDIT EDIT: Didn't look back far enough through this thread, just seen the NeoGAF stuff had already been pointed out by @Huks and @Shahar, apologies to you both.

Its also been announced that there are still unannounced SCE games to be released for 2016.

Shuhei Yoshida: There are more unannounced PS4 titles from WWS for 2016 in an interview with Famitsu, Shuhei Yoshida mentioned that there are more games coming from worldwide studios in 2016 that have not yet been announced.

I have to agree. I mean, if this was actually GT7's engine, would it actually be misrepresentative to advertise it as GT6? Would it be illegal? If there's some laws in some way preventing it, that would explain why they've advertised them like that. I mean, if it was simply footage of GT6 in its current incarnation, PDI would surely say it would be coming to the game in a future update, and it would drum up some interest in the game. It would be logical to tie the whole thing into GT6.

It's the very particular wording, along with the complete lack of GT6 branding, that intrigues me most. We can learn a lot more from what isn't there than what is, at least in these circumstances.

Question to all: has GT6 actually even be mentioned at all in relation to these cars? Not that I can see anywhere, and going on past experience, with that NSX trailer I mentioned earlier, the advertising and scenario surrounding the trailer was very similar. The game in that trailer turned out to be GT6, not GT5...

As far as I can tell, it's history repeating itself. The Acura trailer had people speculating about Apricot hill. Everyone assumed it was going to be a future GT5 DLC, but it was actually GT6, yet is was never mentioned to be so until the game was announced a few months later.

If there's no mention of it being Gran Turismo 6, then it can't possibly be GT6. It has to be something else....

Crazy unsubstantiated theory time: maybe GT7 is so close to being announced and released that PDI will actually be adding these cars straight to GT7 and not GT6. However, because GT7 has not been revealed, they're using GT6 footage, and although they haven't mentioned GT7 at all, they're letting us infer that it will be in a new game because they haven't mentioned GT6 either.

Or, alternatively, I've gone completely bonkers and I should perhaps take a break from all this GT7 speculation, and maybe have a lie down in a dark room with a cold, damp cloth on my head.

Let's hope the hype doesn't get too heavy and the thread gets locked. :P

Oops. See above. I think I've already failed.

Is Kaz taking longer because of Forza 6?
I somehow doubt it would make a difference. It's not like the game will be releasing any time this year. Then again, just announcing GT on PS4 any time now til December would be a cheeky move ;)

Nah, in my opinon it's a fair ammount of speculation and hype. We have a good reason to speculate and jump on the Hype Train™, because PD is (maybe) teasing us with something. Not mentioning Gran Turismo 6 in any trailers/news articles from PD, the ammount of detail in the screenshots of the two new cars and the visuals in the recent trailers of the two VGT's, and so much more; it all has to lead to something. As I previously mentioned, it doesn't have to be Gran Turismo 7. It might just be Gran Turismo 6 footage with some added visual effects to it, or even some sort of GT7 tech demo build/almost finished GT7. Who know's, it could be everything.

For me, all this is "subtle teasing". The PS4 in the Bugatti trailer was hard to spot for me, but the Dualshock 4 and the G29 (which I recognized instantly) gave me a somewhat feeling that they could be on to something. And the fact that there are is the Pegi symbol saying that the rating is provisional aswell as a US rating symbol which also features no specific rating at the beginning of the trailers makes me even more speculate (I like speculating). Then there are the pictures/screenshots. Aaaand the video material.

PD has three shots left at announcing a new GT title this year. First, there would be PGW in France, starting at the end of October. PGW will be the event where Sony Computer Entertainment will host their next major press conference. Why would it be good for Sony to announce a new GT there? Because Europe is GT's biggest market. Coming in second, there is PSX in the US, starting at the beginning of December. SCE's CEO (forgot his name) previously said that PSX will be the event where more first party games that will release in 2016 will be announced at. So that could be a possible, but very small hint of what's coming up. And third, we have the EA way: announcing a specific date where something big will happen and release a teaser or even trailer, like they did with the new NFS. I highly doubt they are going to do that, though.

That's pretty much a perfect summary of everything so far. I mean, one day, sooner or later, GT on PS4, will be revealed. On another day, later on, we will buy and play GT on PS4. Until the day that is revealed, we won't really know anything, so we'll just have to hang on, chill out, and speculate every so often when something new crops up. It'll be a fun old ride.

I remember MS's announcement of Forza 6, they had a blue Ford GT up on stage. . . .
Im really starting to think the Bugatti Chiron will be the GT7 cover car and the announcement of the game will coincide with its reveal.

I can just imagine Kaz with a cigarette in his hand sitting at PD HQ reading this thread and smiling.

I'll take a surprise of what car the cover car will be. My bets are on the Bugatti Chiron or the new Acura/Honda NSX though.

Better said: if there are any sights of a car on stage of either the PGW press conference or at PSX, we can assume: things are getting serious.

The thing is that the Bugatti VGT took six months to develop, before it was revealed. Presumably, the participation of Bugatti in VGT was finalised some time before that, which leads to some interesting thoughts:
1. Are there any other new companies participating in VGT that we don't yet know about?

2. If the Chiron was going to be the GT7 cover car, as rumoured, then presumably that would have been arranged and finalised some time ago as well. Potentially, the VGT was designed with the aim of being a lead-in to the Chiron's appearance in GT7.

I think a 2015 announcement of GT7 (or GT PS4) and 2016 release is very likely.
Kaz says GT PS4 will be out before 2017.
Yoshida says there are more SCE titles left to announce for 2016.
New VGT's have different PR indicating hinting at a new title.

I reckon PGW will be the venue since GT is massive in EU. Furthermore, one of the insiders hinted that PGW will be a more prominent show for SCE studios.

The thing that struck me as well was the reduction in seasonal event frequency. That suggests two things:

1. PDI are literally devoting as little time to GT6 as possible. This includes potentially the course maker and its delay (has most of the development effort been put into GT7 over the last year or so?)

2. PDI are using the decrease in seasonal event frequency as a warning to players that support of GT6 will generally be winding down as GT7 replaces it as the current title.

It could be the DB11 or Ford GT too... assuming that PD adds them. Lol.

I actually think the Bugatti or NSX as @Nico_Ble99 said will be on the cover. The NSX because the video of it featured content not included in any GT so far (which also brings me to think that Seattle is semi-confirmed for GT7), the Bugatti because the videos and screenshots do look nice. Some of the screens (especially the ones taken at Sarthe) look like they have Instagram filters on it, but the others look nice. It could be rendered screens from Maya or what app they used to make the model, but if it is from a game, it sure doesn't look like GT6, or PS3 rendered graphics anyway.

I spotted this first I think or first to post about it as shown by following two posts, a while before that NeoGAF post: Link and Link.
