Good point, the NSX was the last example of a car revealed before the game it featured in was. Just had a quick check and the NSX was revealed in January 2012...........

That was released Jan 15th 2013 wasn't it? Exactly 4 months before official GT6 reveal at Silverstone?

Before that, Micheal Denny let slip GT6 was coming in February 2013.

I have had an interesting discussion with an anonymous source. Here are some things he said. (I do not know how reliable this source is!)

"GT7 is going to be something incredible I'm sure"

"Oh it will be, I know it for a fact actually"

"They have implemented a fully physically based lighting and global illumination."

"Light bounces around and reflect indirectly the asphalt"

me- "We believe we saw a test render of the GT7 engine last week. "

him again- "You mean from the trailer vision gt?"

"That wasn't GT7."

"I don't think you realize what GT7 looks like."

"I won't say more."

"You will know very soon. It will be a momentous occasion"

Not allowed to say this line - "*********"

"Trust me when I tell you that Polyphony itself don't know when they will reveal"

"With what I know I can tell you they could have revealed at E3 and they chose not to."

Several off topic messages later:

"I live in Japan"
There's nothing reliable about that anonymous person.

I want to believe this as much as anyone, but I can't.

I mean, Polyphony Digital didn't reveal the game at E3. It's odd that they could reconcile the fact that although they are in a position where they could show it off whenever, they don't know when they will show it off, and actively chose not to at E3. If that was the case, that would be an bizarre decision from a business standpoint, considering the sim racing competition is more intense than ever, and GT7 is currently missing in action.

All the information he has given is vague, too, in such a way that neither proves anything new and concrete, but doesn't conflict with what we know so far - in short, it could be entirely true simply because it's so lacking in information. Your source has basically said:

'GT7 will be incredible, but it wasn't shown in that Bugatti trailer. It wasn't shown at E3, either, but it might be shown soon."

You don't need to be an insider or secret contact to be able to say that, because I suspect that's the view of GT7 almost everyone has now from what we know.

The idea of game's reveal being moved is nothing new tbh and it could happen for numerous reasons.
Bloodborne comes to mind. Was meant to be revealed at TGS 2013 but got moved to E3 2014. Another one is L5's PS4 games which was meant to be revealed at E3 2015.

Sony has 4 conference this year so it should not surprise that announcements are being moved and shared among each conference.
E3 2015 would not have been a good time and I think Sony knows that. Reason being is that their conference already had massive announcements that might of overshadowed GT such FF7 Remake, Shenmue 3 and The Last Guardian. GT deserves the spotlight and it certainly would not have got it at that conference.

That's what I thought initially but it was actually first revealed the year before. That's true about the February slip though. Not that it mattered much though - the only reveal I'm interested in is the one where we get an avalanche of delicious content..... :D

While the showing (attempt, or weak attempt to hide) of the PS4 controller is interesting, there seems little attention has been shown towards the sound effect in the Bugatti clip.

For me, the distinct and easily recognised sound of the PS4, clearly deliberately dubbed into the clip, has just as big an implication as anything else.
Let's roll with the fact the PEGI ratings etc. are unavoidable, and let's pretend they tried to hide the PS4 controller (and while the G29 is interesting, it is of course compatible with PS3), the sound effect chosen when there is a clear choice, is significant to me.

There's a PS4 on the table in the trailer.

There's a PS4 on the table in the trailer.
Is there?
Gee, it's hard to see. (Which is my point)

The sound effect, on the other hand, is in your face.
It's a concious decision to use that sound.
The question is why.

I'm simply pointing out that there's all this discussion regarding the evidence of a PS4, provided you pause and analyse the clip.
The sound effect is plain as day.

Yes, there is. It's connected to the TV, the G29 is connected to the PS4. I didn't notice the sound in the trailer, but there's only one place the PS4 sound would be coming from, and it would be from the PS4 on that table.

That might be the reason there's a black screen with BUGATTI VISION GT emblazoned on it at that point.

How could you not notice the PS4 sound?
It's clear as day (provided you have one and know what sound effects that console uses).

I'm simply saying that the in-depth analysis of the paused images during the clip are great.
The sound effect (disregarding any arguments offered as to why a PS4 is show) is deliberate.

And I'm simply highlighting that this hasn't been discussed much.

Maybe because PD have a history of dubbing engine sounds.

Because I wasn't paying attention to sounds.

Edit: That's the GT menu sound. Nothing to do with PS4 sound.

Well, as an initial thought, I take it (as a PS4 owner) as a PS4 sound effect.
Not a GT sound effect.

I don't recall the same sound in GT6.
I'll test it after the F1 race.

Edit
@legacyMACHINE , exactly, that's my point.
It's a concious decision to use that sound, considering the history behind GT clips.

Considering all (and I do mean all) Vision GT videos commence with the 'logo' of 'www.gran-turismo.com', I would sugeest everything.

Imagine this:
Sony: "Right then, Bugatti, today we'd like to record this trailer for the new Vision Gran Turismo car. It's coming to Gran Turismo 6 on PS3, so here's a PS3, DualShock 3 and a G29. You'll put these in the video to market GT6 and the PS3."

Or potentially:
Sony: "Right then, Bugatti, today we'd like to record this trailer for the new Vision Gran Turismo. It's coming to an as yet unannounced future installment of Gran Turismo, so here's a PS4, DualShock 4 and G29. You'll put these in the video to create hype and suggest the existence of a GT game on PS4."

My point is that if Sony or Polyphony oversaw this trailer, they would presumably know which game and console they would like to promote. Everything so far is pointing something like the latter, rather than the former.

Nothing is certain, but by working towards this logic, I should imagine the hype train will be allowed its first green signal on the journey to GT on PS4 :)

But hey. Just saw it said not actual in-game footage. Does that slow the hype train just a little bit? :P or did I see something that isn't important?

And you think I'm agruing against this case?

To me, considering the evidence of previous GT clips, and by this I mean years of GT clips, the PS4 signs are significant.

How about this:
PS4 executive: 'The Vision GT cars will be in GT6 and GT7, isn't it time we show that fact? The time of showing VGT's as GT6 has passed. Let's not shown VGT's as GT6 exclusives anymore.'

I've checked GT6 sound bites.
I've found nothing that matches GT6.
I could be wrong, so I'm happy to be pointed to where this sound occurs.
As far as PS4 is concerned, it's a typical sound for any executable option.

IMO, it's a deliberate move to include PS4 sounds into the clip.
Make of that what you will.
I'm simply pointing out that the PS4 sound bite hasn't been disussed much.

I was talking to my friend about that, I didn't notice many people talking about that sound. I'm 99.9% sure it's the sound that you hear when you press the PS button.

Yeah it is, just compared it. And you clearly see him push the PS button too.

True.
Buuut if it is GT7 as the speculation says. I hope it is an early stage. The trees and the asphalt texture suck(GT6 graphics) in that vid.
I speculated days ago that it was an extremely early version of GT7.. so early that it's still running everything from GT6.

Then again, they could have done that on purpose as to not show off anything "new" before they're ready to do so.

No, my point aimed at the people who thought the whole PS4 thing was an oversight, on the basis that Sony or Polyphony was involved with the trailer. If it was always meant to be a PS3 in the trailer, rather than a PS4, I find it hard to believe the whole thing would have been recorded, had the video and PS4 audio dubbed in, edited, uploaded to YouTube, and had a corresponding article written about it, before someone went, "hang on a minute, isn't this trailer meant to promote a PS3 game?"

I'm really looking forward to whenever we get a proper trailer for GT7, it'll be nice to see something fresh. Slightly off topic, but could you imagine if PD released the Course Maker, then shut down the servers. That would be the ultimate troll.

It's not promoting a specific entry in the series, just the series itself on PlayStation consoles. There's no oversight at all.

Just for the sake of comparison.

This clearly shows DS3 controllers. The Bugatti trailer is dark specifically to attempt to hide the PS4 equipment. The only downfall of that is the blue lightbar from the DS4 shining on the TV. It's clear that the DS4 was covered up in post-production and not during the act of filming.
