Good! I didn't know we can make photos with driver inside the car! :D

I don't get this GoPro thing at all. It's a videogame, you can put a "camera" anywhere you want, why would we need to pretend it was a real world camera brand to get new options for cameras?

There are a lot of imperfections and artifacts and stuff that if replicated in GTS could make a GoPro replay (and it is pretty recognisable, the GoPro footage, I'd say) look pretty awesome. It's about making it all messy and real-life looking. Game replays are too clean normally, there are no camera, lens, dirt, etc. FX going on...

It's to a certain extent why the weather FX in DC were so amazing, because they took away all of that game engine 'cleanness'. It felt realer.

It could also affect the sound, because the sound recording of these GoPro's is limited, and not clean at all, constant clipping and distortion and what-have-you. Makes it so much rougher and more exciting. I'm all for it. It ain't 'just another camera'. Plus the marketing bonus of some incredibly real-life looking replays on youtube with GoPro/GT logos on it, could be immense.

GT2 also had various camera positions on car(just as in the video I posted). It all comes down to the marketing. Like the KW Supension thing.

Say, another thing about the GoPro. Possible 360° in car viewing. Competitions sponsored by GoPro. The eSport viewing by spectators. Maybe they can pick in car cameras during the races.

Well that would make more sense (not that you also couldn't have done that without GoPro, it's not like they made a new market in portable cameras), I was just confused by the people saying "If we have Go Pro it means we can have a camera in X place now", as if without Go Pro you couldn't have done it.

You are right, replays ala GoPro would would be amazing!

But i doubt if such a feature is implemented that the quality of those videos would be intentionally worse because i dont think GoPro would like to have their cameras promoted with worse quality than the rest of the camera views.

I guess IF such a view is implemented it would just be with a wider FOV.

Yeah, absolutely, but I guess they're so well-known, it makes sense.

Ah yeah, I don't mean 'worse' qualitatively - I mean some subtle visual and sound effects to make the experience closer to the GoPro feeling - just watch the video above that @05XR8 posted. In a purely tech sense, you're losing some cleanness from game image, but for any normal person watching, it would make it much more realistic.

That's odd, because the new GoPros are 4K and with the appropriate cover have very good audio recording.

Unless your idea of cool track video is 480i, mic in the wind blast video tape camcorders from 1998.

Nah, you misunderstood brother. Here:

I don't know if it's me or not, but I would think passenger positioned camera views would be amazing (not a gimmick). It won't be fixed so you can either control where you're looking with an analog stick or use PS VR. I mean COME ON! I can imagine a track as narrow as Bathurst's being ideal for it.

You can experience it as passenger with the Drive club VR :)

Because marketing I would assume. Any real world tie-ins might help spur sales and spread brand recognition beyond the niche of the racing genre. Give the title the appearance of more credibility as well.

What if it's not a photoshop, but PD intentionally leaked it under the guise of it being a photoshop?

(Serious not serious.)
