Pretty hard. There are games that have 900 degree steering but the end result can be awkward sometimes.
The most difficult part would be doing the hand-over-hand animation. I can't remember if it was in pCARS or AC, but if you are in a turn and you're holding the wheel at a position where the driver should change hands, one of the hands would be hovering over the wheel. Obviously, you would not want to be doing that in the real world. Here is a video of Polyphony attempting to do 1:1 steering back with Gran Turismo 5 Prologue:
Notice at around 1:50 how the car goes into the gravel pit and the driver attempts to get out by steering back to the track. If you pay attention, you'll see the driver's arm glitching through the other one when rotating the wheel.
I think an even better alternative would be to let us disable the arms and wheel completely, but that probably won't happen.
I still don't understand why there's so much hate for the Tokyo Expressway track. I think it's fine.I won't speak of sounds, whether they're good or not. How, in three years, can you show something that dull?! Collisions, the track itself, the reflections like a slideshow on cars. It's a real question, I'm not even trolling.
I didn't get a sense of speed when driving it in the GT3 GT-R. Especially, didn't feel fast like driving on R246. I can't recall highway signs when learning the track. That's to say, nothing caught my attention like a billboard of the Toyota S-FR or grandstands(I haven't been paying attention to the latest builds in this thread either). Can't racall if Pitlane was like an SS Route version.I still don't understand why there's so much hate for the Tokyo Expressway track. I think it's fine.
This is PD, remember? Perfectionism or bust.Well I don't know, it seems significantly better than just having it how it is now.
Dammit, forgot about that. This is PD, remember? Perfectionism or bust.
Every time I'm watching a GT5: P video, it makes me wonder how PD could make those graphics in 2007?! 9 years after 2007, it still looks great and things like car models, cockpits and lighting are still really nice.
It is infact really nice...however those dark shadows in the cockpit vieuw looks really jaggy as if it had no AA (anti-aliasing) when GT5 came out it was the same story. Many people were bothered by that jaggyness. So in GT6 they have used a softer (less dark) shadow that it would make it "less" noticable, and I believe it is the same thing again in GT Sport. (for some reason I can still see the jaggyness in current build of GT Sport during cockpit vieuw).Every time I'm watching a GT5: P video, it makes me wonder how PD could make those graphics in 2007?! 9 years after 2007, it still looks great and things like car models, cockpits and lighting are still really nice.
It's all about resolution of those shadowmaps. GT5P had highest resolution, GT5 lower because of dynamic TOD (bit better after patch). GT6 and GTS has worst shadowmaps of all, sadly. Never used cockpit cam in GT6 because of this.It is infact really nice...however those dark shadows in the cockpit vieuw looks really jaggy as if it had no AA (anti-aliasing) when GT5 came out it was the same story. Weird though how it has that non linear effect in the engine note and the perfect linear in the transmission dont you think?Boy, the sound improvement is sidereal. Yes there are some faults (transmission and gear changes sound), that decrease a little bit the inmersion; but the engine notes are very good indeed.
Even it has that sound when you accelerate from low revs or you hit bumps and the engine doesnt sound lineal. We have never seen that in the GT saga.
I said in the announcement that it was impossible to improve the sounds a lot more from the cooper box. Happy to eat my words.

I feel like this sound needs a bit more work, nontheless decent. It sounds a little "high pitched" and digitalized in the gear shifting. Could also add a little more life (aggresiveness in the engine note with some crackle and bangs aka backfire sound).
For comparison.
How anyone can praise the audio of these GTS videos is..... unexplainable to me, really.
Then you get these
Driveclub I rate, especially with the brutal downshift, sounds the best thus far.
But apart from that, one thing that I go on about in particular is the way GT's sound isn't spatial. It feels too enclosed like there's a vacuum of sorts. Whereas as you can hear in the vid above, both Pcars and DC don't sound enclosed.
Though it is something to worry about later in the sound development, I feel it's important to consider. Though I suppose that comes along as you add in the other tid bits.

I understand where your coming from but the likes of many criticize with a valid point. I dont know how many times I have to say it but in order for a product to be good (quality) people have their preferences and wishes on what is (quality). So it's the job of the organisation to listen to their consumers feedback in order for their product to promote quality. Yes they deserve credit for heading the right way but not all will be satisfied with this product. I wish for further improvement on the sound and I'm not completely satisfied to what I am hearing. Giving criticism does not mean "hating" it means it wants its product to have better quality! He said the sound isn't perfect and I agree yet this GT will, without a doubt, be the best of the francise in the sound department so please stop complaining for a little bit and praise PD effort on improvement.
If GT6 sounded as good as GTS will then I would still play it. Not even kidding .
