Anyone else think that a Vision Gran Turismo themed tech demo for PS4 is a possibility? Something similar to Gran Turismo HD, which was released to PSN prior to GT5 and GT5 Prologue.

It would make a fantastic Christmas present, right? :)

Page 20 guys.... ;)
If they would do that there should be a balance between the VGT cars and the normal cars or no VGT cars at all as they're all mostly fantasy cars, which won't give a clear image of what GT7 can be.

Great thread btw, have enjoyed every page of it!

@oli440 A 50-50 split between the VGTs and regular cars would be nice. And if bikes are included for GT7 - which I think is highly likely - add a few bikes too to that tech demo. :D

A photo I took at Matterhorn - as you guys know, it is a new track to the series (GT6). Why is there a bike grid at this fictional track unless they plan on including bikes?

To make this post relevant to the thread - I honestly hope the first trailer will tease us with a few bike shots too.

I think I remember seeing bike grids on another GT track but I can't recall which one. But the chance of bikes being in GT again seems very real at this moment because of this and the fact they were scanning the Isle of Man.

Exactly. Isle of Man with cars - cool, good enough. But since it is a TT track it would seem more likely that they actually plan on adding bikes. Unless they scanned it for Tourist Trophy 2 - which is likely too. Kaz said that it was likely they would make a sequel, as he couldn't say no when he was asked if he was planning to make another Tourist Trophy. But the way I see it, they added bikes to a GT demo before, which means they could add bikes to a full GT game. Especially now on the PS4.

I doubt that the PS3 will be supported for much longer to be honest. Once course maker is launched, PD will most likely move its priorities over to PS4 (the sooner the better to be perfectly honest). As much as I loved the PS3, games like GT6 prove that there really isn't that much left that can be achieved. The franchise needs to move on and catch up with the opposition.

Well indeed, I hope they're not sinking much more time and effort into the game at this point, I already 'got over' the fact GT6 would not become much better/different shortly after it released. :P But still, there's almost no time required to add a few more things, I don't think they even want to add the course maker, but if they do, they better make the course maker save files transfer-able and compatible with GT7.. just a big waste otherwise to add it now.

Kaz mentioned about how working on PS4 will be like "starting from a new slate".. so really that sounds like they will have built this game from scratch, and would have been working at it with the new dev tools since at least half a year before Sony launched the system, so we hope they've been working every single day at this thing. It just doesn't seem like it since Kaz doesn't like to at least say "yo guys, chill out now, we're working hard at it and please stay patient".. :indiff:

The franchise will come back to the front, I KNOW Kaz is not taking all the affiliations he's gained in the automotive and motorsports industry for granted, PD must be determined to bring high-standard and professional game as they always have and show a bunch of new features and tech's within the game.

Pretty much my entire life summed up in a pic :indiff:
But this really was the case with GT6 for me as I kind of lost interest in it after a couple of months while I had played GT5 a whole lot more. The VGT cars and taking pictures of them being the only thing keeping my ps3 from collecting dust as in my opinion GT6 isn't really a step up from GT5 but as some say just a GT5.5 to cash some money.

I agree. Except my PS3 is already collecting dust. The newest pCars update feels more GT-ish now, and since it is 60 fps I don't really play GT6 anymore, I think it is lagging too much (60 to 40 to 30 fps in a race - no fun). All I want is GT7. Now.
I will fix my tattoo once it comes out. Thinking of adding Kaz' autograph.. We'll see.

Since I have PCARS I can't wait for GT7. Bought the collectors ed. because of hype and emit huge amounts of rage everytime I try to play the game because it's a glitch fest and I can't get used to the weird handling. I allready gave up on that after a good month playing despite starting it up some times because I'm bored and have nothing to play.

No way GT7 should come out without the ability to use a VR Headset. That's the only way I'll buy a PS4 and GT7. In 2016 with all the gaming tech, this will be the only thing bringing greatness back to the GT series, anything less would be a failure imo. If it ships less the VR ability and another PD promise for the future....i'm ****in out for good. PD are truly clowns when it comes to unfulfilled promises and communication.

Developers having spent so much time and effort on interiors, details etc to not be using VR headsets in racing games is mind boggling. There's really been nothing ground breaking in gaming for the last 10 years at least. Better graphics is really all that's been happening but that's a natural progression of hardware, consoles still trail gaming PC's by a large margin.

I genuinely believe in Kaz's ability to create something great for GT7. I think GT5 and GT6 were a shock, both to players who were disappointed, but to Kaz as well, I'm sure, in so far as they prove that Polyphony Digital are not guaranteed success. They aren't invincible like they used to be. He reads these forums, he knows what's right and wrong with the game, and he knows how to fix it.

Take the sounds, for example. Now, they've been the same for every GT game, pretty much, but finally we have evidence they're working on them. Then, they hire Mike Caviezel from Turn 10. To me, that suggests that yes, they do know the sounds are bad, but the new system has required significant development and outside expertise to make right. PDI have been playing the long game. They're the same in GT6 not because they're ignoring us, but because in the background, they've been cooking up a completely new method - but, as with all of Polyphony's work, it takes time. It take time and hardware they're happy with to do the best job. Likewise, they're hiring AI engineers, race rule engineers, and remember also they hired Kevin Middelbos from Evolution Studios.

Polyphony may work in a bizarre, insular, and alien way, but they aren't stupid. Based on the most recent evidence, they're working to fix long standing issues.

I wouldn't mind GT7 not coming with VR as VR headsets don't really enhance the gameplay to me. Never really cared about them to be honest, I mean the is cool and all but I don't see myself playing with a VR headset anytime soon.

I think they should hire someone from codemasters who can sort out the damage model and crash physics, would make the games feel a little more complete.

DiRT 2 had a wondrous damage model. Loved that game so much. Then DiRT 3 came out and it was more of the same only slightly less good, and then DiRT Showdown came along and it was a very disappointing spin-off. Thankfully, DiRT Rally has seen the series regain its mojo.

Dirt 3 and Showdown were the first ones I played, Dirt rally is also pretty nice. Race driver Grid and Grid autosport had great damage too. Safe to say Codemasters has the best soft body physics in any console title.

Hi, I'm brand-new to GTPlanet. What I have to say is:
Have good trailer music. Moon over the Castle, Surge by Monstercat or even Basement Jaxx Never Say Never would be great.

Have the camera focus on racing in different parts of the world e.g Japan- Super GT, France- Le Mans, Red Bull Airfield- then have the camera drift out, through space to the eerie quietness of the Moon. Then have a blurry Moon Rover racing towards a crystal clear, flapping flag. A few seconds later, flag is revealed to be the GT7 logo...

Lastly, have all the hype from GT4 to GT5 .

That is my $0.02. Thanks!

Hello and welcome to the slightly insane world of GTPlanet!
:gtpflag:

Loving the sound of that trailer. I would deliberately use no music in the trailer though, and include real in-game audio instead, to prove to the world that one of the most significant problems with the game has been addressed.

My idea for a trailer:

The screen is black. A line in blue appears on the screen. The blue line is actually a sound spectrum at rest. A car is heard starting, and accelerating through the gears. The sound spectrum is actually in the night sky above the Nurburgring's Döttinger Höhe straight. The camera pans down from the spectrum, to looking down the straight. Several GT3 cars drive under the camera down the straight. The spectrum is still in the sky, reacting as the cars barrel down the straight. The GT7 logo fades into the picture.

I hope that sort of makes sense. I was looking to make a trailer that incorporates evidence of improved sound and better simulation of racing and AI.

THIS would make a great teaser! *crossing fingers for PGW or PSX*
