PD could show 🤬 all for a teaser and people would still go nuts... ಠ_ಠ

So could Valve Software, to be fair.

Valve releases image of orange "3" on black screen.

Half-Life 3 confirmed.

Internet collapses into black hole of hype...

Edit: I would like to add that this thread has caused my post count to jump by nearly 100 posts in the last week or so. Let's break this down a bit.

I had about 600 posts before this thread. I've had my account for two years (although I've been lurking for much longer than that). That's around 300 posts per year. Therefore, I've made around 1/3 of my yearly average post count this week alone.

Go go hype train!

@oli440 A 50-50 split between the VGTs and regular cars would be nice. And if bikes are included for GT7 - which I think is highly likely - add a few bikes too to that tech demo. :D

A photo I took at Matterhorn - as you guys know, it is a new track to the series (GT6). Why is there a bike grid at this fictional track unless they plan on including bikes?

To make this post relevant to the thread - I honestly hope the first trailer will tease us with a few bike shots too.
Nice find! I never noticed that! :D

Well indeed, I hope they're not sinking much more time and effort into the game at this point, I already 'got over' the fact GT6 would not become much better/different shortly after it released. :P But still, there's almost no time required to add a few more things, I don't think they even want to add the course maker, but if they do, they better make the course maker save files transfer-able and compatible with GT7.. just a big waste otherwise to add it now.

Kaz mentioned about how working on PS4 will be like "starting from a new slate".. so really that sounds like they will have built this game from scratch, and would have been working at it with the new dev tools since at least half a year before Sony launched the system, so we hope they've been working every single day at this thing. It just doesn't seem like it since Kaz doesn't like to at least say "yo guys, chill out now, we're working hard at it and please stay patient".. :indiff:

The franchise will come back to the front, I KNOW Kaz is not taking all the affiliations he's gained in the automotive and motorsports industry for granted, PD must be determined to bring high-standard and professional game as they always have and show a bunch of new features and tech's within the game.
Participating in the 24h of nurburgring counts as working on GT7... right?

Several GT3 cars drive under the camera down the straight.
Meanwhile on GTPlanet. Anxious members quickly count the amount of cars on track. :D

Remember when Kaz said this?

"Regarding the next generation PS4 and beyond, there's always ongoing research going forward at Polyphony Digital and Sony. There might be some technologies that may change the world and until recently I was thinking that video games might reach a saturation point but I found out that there's much more to come and much more to look forward to in terms of technology of the future -- not that I can discuss any details right now."

That must be a hint at VR, right? One of the few truly game-changing (pun only slightly intended) technologies that's come out of this generation.

Excuse my cynicism, but as fun as some of the games of this generation have been, it kind of feels a little like last time around, but with better graphics. Although, to be fair to it, there can only be a polygon graphics/online gaming/HD revolution once. The fundamental base of this generation are those previous revolutions. VR is the next step. When VR arrives, it'll make this generation worthwhile.

He said that on February 20th 2013, we we're hoping for a GT6 trailer here on GTP. :)

Side note: this is officially the best thread I have created.

This thread isn't even warmed up yet surely? Less than 700 posts in nearly 3 months isn't a lot at all!

I've participated in threads elsewhere on other subjects that have had 35,000+ posts in two weeks.

Probably best to clear your diaries because I feel something coming I'm sure.

page 21 already......this forum is going to explode when GT7 gets announced.

:D I just had to.

Please be like this again.

Haven't seen that trailer in a while... Looking at it now, it's almost criminal how much better that looks than GT5 ended up being. Makes it look like full on point to point WRC stages, detailed full damage, and much better graphics than the game ended up with. Also looks like so much more going on in pit lane, and the spectators look much more lively. Hopefully they don't over hype and under deliver for GT7 like they did with GT5.

You mean barometric pressure right?...

Was that the official Gran Turismo twitter that retweeted Shmee's Bugatti pics/videos some time last night? Why would they retweet what he put up 15 September? Do they notice speculation on him saying "next gran turismo game" and decided to add fuel to the fire ? lol

No. Highly doubt it.

On the graphics and technics side, PoDi will destroy the competition. As each generation....

Just see comparative Bathurst, Ascari and others tracks between GT6 and reality. It's just amazing, awesome as Americans often say.

Someone here, asked if PoDi will go beyond the limit of the PS4. Probably, yes. They will probably take some risks.

Otherwise, 24 opponents, that's fine. 50 or more, it's useless for me.

Concerning damage .... Up there, there is no improvement on racing games, it's disappointing. PoDi will hopefully be able to do something good. Personally, the most important for me, it's the mechanical damage.

In GT6, that's fine but I would have improved it.

Now, GT7 will be presented at the PGW or PSX? Answer in the next episode.

I really don't want 50 opponents on track, partly down to performance reasons but also because I don't want 50 rolling chicanes of GT6-quality AI. :nervous:

(That is, however, an assumption the AI won't improve at all, which I would hope is an inaccurate one).

The thing to remember is that GT6 on PS3 was still receiving favourable comparisons to Forza 5 on XBONE, and they're games a generation apart. Crucially, GT6 was a bodge job to fix a flawed game on hardware PDI really didn't like (along with other notable folk, like Gabe Newell, as someone mentioned earlier).

Still, if they can produce a rather good game with everything stacked against them, it does bode rather well for their performance on the much better-suited PS4.

GTPES with realistic damage would be amazing. :)
