Why? It took me 25-30 minutes and hasn't really used up any more space than was already being used as it just replaced 99.9% of what was already installed.

I sorta meant it as in "You wasted 20+ minutes for updating a game that was only suppose to take less than 5 min".

Still you are getting the same result at the end. You just took the longer way to get there.

Hold up, I let the update downloading in rest mode while I went to work.

Maybe I should make it stop and download again?
(It would take over 24 hours with my connection)

If it's still downloading when you get home, you can cancel the download and then to go to the GT SPORT icon on PS4 main menu, click on Options and "Check for Update" and it should download the 107mb update instead.

@jagenigma you don't need to do anything. You've installed the new update and just overwritten all the previous updates.

That update notice wasn't published until about 5 hours after the update was available and the 24gb download was giving everyone with slow internet connections a heart attack!

Ah, well then it DEFINITELY was not intentional.

For me the update was just 107 mb. I have never had Any issues with menu music like some people here have mention. Not even before this update. But the Button sounds dissappeared when driving the new cars. Same for tyres sounds.

So long story short for those of you who downloaded only ~110 MB - in the morning, when the maintenance took place, there was an issue with the patch distribution system of Sony and this is why most of us had to re-download 24GB, which is actually the size of every single patch we've got so far - later this was fixed and now the original size of the patch can be downloaded which is ~110MB - just saying that because many people are still wondering why they have to download such size while the thread states it is 24gb :)

If anyone is still downloading the 24 GB, you can cancel it and check for update again and it will be 107.5 MB.
Thank goodness this isn't a Microsoft game, where the entire download would have to finish to say, ok cancelled!

I’ve not read most of the pages since this morning, but did they fix the update? 24gb is pretty big, but i’m reading talk about 107mb update instead..? I just started the update via the “check for update” option.. but it doesn’t show the size. It’s going rather quickly so far, copying ~70% in under 5min. :)

Yes it's fixed now. ;)

I also have no sound even after restarting the game, So not only was there a balls up in regards the real patch but it would seem this new patch fixed absolutely nothing.

The BOP system exists and is constantly being adjusted by PD. If it means we can have cars to use that aren't necessarily "real", but are based on reality and fit within regulation (as a result of BOP), then so be it..
How can you BoP anything which never raced in real races, so nobody has any telemetry etc data about it?
It's easy to dream design car which would kick all asses around, but make it happen, well that's another story.
Anyway the patch size was indeed 100M or so for me too, so something might have changed since morning

Wait i just thought about it since GTS saves online that means if i delete & Redownload the updates i lose nothing right?

24Gb in Finland takes about 10 minutes to download. What's a problem?

Well that’s great for you and all the other people that live in countries with internet providers that aren’t holding you to ransom.

Here in Australia, unless you’ve already been upgraded to the National Broadband Network (was fiber to the home, now fiber to the node) then you’re on copper ADSL. My home connection is unlimited, but only 4-5Mbps at best. Speed and time are the issues, not limits on the home connection.

Someone else said just 4G it. Yep that’d work, 20-25Mbps on my phone, however I pay for 40GB on my phone (over $100aus per month and $10 a Gig once that’s gone) so last night that would have taken all the allowance I had for the next 17 days.

Yes, Australians are being ripped off by our ISPs.

some people actually leave it downloading over night while PS4 is in rest mode so when you come back from work everything is installed and ready to go :)
