PD could not correct the FFB max torque default issue with this patch?? Do they not know there is a problem with the FFB setting?? Lucky for the warm up before races, i need that time to readjust my in game FFB settings every time I race.👎👎:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

With 1.16 are PD forcing a complete (rolled-up) re-installation of GTS updates and blowing away all the previous incremental updates?

After installation of the incremental 1.15 update (which weighed in at around 3gb iirc) I had to do a full re-install of GTS due to the main menu freeze bug appearing again; the full rolled-up 1.15 update weighed in at 24gb.

1.16 is also 24gb (well, just over) so have PD had a fundamental problem with patching patches of patches of patches and just gone for the nuclear option; pretty much a full re-installation of the game?

- UPDATE - UPDATE - UPDATE - UPDATE - UPDATE -

15:33 04/04/2018:

The huge size of the update appears to have been a glitch in Sony's update network/servers - pushing out all previous updates as well as 1.16 - and not, as I initially suspected, due to PD re-issuing all updates due to a messy patched codebase.

The glitch in the update network has now been fixed and the incremental 1.16 update, which people appear to be getting now, is available and around 107mb.

Great news for those on slow internet connections!

That thread title almost gave me a heart attack!! I thought the OP meant it was a massive content update! Noooo haha dang it!!

Let's get rid of any virtual cars from daily races first. I hate to race against any GT which doesnt exist IRL

The BOP system exists and is constantly being adjusted by PD. If it means we can have cars to use that aren't necessarily "real", but are based on reality and fit within regulation (as a result of BOP), then so be it.

24.90€ per month for every home. I also know this is not possible everywhere in the world so I can feel your frustrations:scared:

Before I changed ISP's a year ago, I was paying about $80/65€ for less than a megabyte per second download (10 Mbps), and would also stop working at nighttime.

There was no chance of that happening, not so soon after the content delivered in 1.15.

Right? It baffles me that anyone actually expected new content here. Given how PD have released content for GT Sport, that simply made no sense. Clearly it was an unscheduled update because of the significant bugs caused in 1.15. We've seen large break/fix patches before so that wasn't really news to me.

The way I read that update was that the download manager was unintentionally set to download all previous updates, not that they intentionally reinstalled everything.

I could be wrong, but that's what it seems to say to me.

"The PS4 Patch distribution uses the SIE differential patch distribution service, but we have found that this patch is currently set in the system to re-download all patches.

We apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused."

If it were an intentional re-install, I imagine they would state something to that effect.

R they serious? First sport mode race after 12 laps this happens. Its so many online bugs, sport mode havent been so bad, some bugs u have to accept. But in lobby online, it is hard to describe how bad is it.

Sooo... if I already downloaded the update, is there a way I can delete it, and then redownload the smaller one?

I'm concerned about hard drive space.

Well whilst in rest mode mine either sorted itself out and just downloaded the smaller update or it finally downloaded at the speed it should have been going at all along because my game says it's at version 1.16 now and no update is available. :)
