Is this possibly limited to certain versions/revisions of the PS4? I have a limited edition Gran Turismo branded 1tb Slim (humble brag! ) and I saw flames the night before the 1.16 update while still on 1.15.

At home i have a 7mbps ..ADSL ...

You should be okay now. Sony have fixed their update network/servers and people are getting the 107mb incremental 1.16 update, rather than having all previous updates forced upon them as well as 1.16.

If you've managed to avoid the forced redownload of all updates then yes, you will have just received 1.15 and 1.16 together. 1.15 (with all the content) was roughly 4gb, 1.16 (just bug fixes) is 107mb.

No. You will have simply downloaded 24gb worth of updates that replaces 24gb of existing updates. My game folder, post 1.15 installation, was around 81gb, after 1.16 it is still around 81gb. No extra space has been gobbled up.

Same story for me. And in transmission mode, menu music still doesn’t play. Hope it gets addressed in next week’s update.

This may sound like a stupid suggestion but have you tried adjusting the BGM volume sliders and not just visually confirming they're above 0?

The reason I say this is because sometimes my cockpit height adjusts itself to default even though the slider says its where I set it (usually +3). Move the slider 1 notch and the cockpit height suddenly jumps to that position (so if I move it to +4 then the cockpit jumps from default to 4, skipping 1, 2 and 3)

Its a long shot but perhaps GTS may have gotten a bit confused and set the volume to 0 even though its displaying another level on the screen?

I came home with high hopes but the game doesn't display any colour and I tried other games and they all still work perfectly fine but once GT Sport gets to the intro it's gets all grey or water mark looking. Anyone else having this issue?

Happy to see the download issue is fixed. After starting downloading the update about 14 hours ago I still had a good 22 hours left before restarting a few minutes ago. Classic Australian internet.

Almost finished, 16gb downloaded after a number of hours. Decided to check forum as all excited for massive update.
How do i feel to find it was a glitch. What a **** and unproffesional stuff up.

For the billion millionth time in this thread, Fortnite had the same issue with their update in the same night. It’s not a PD thing, it was a hiccup in PSN somewhere.

Also unrelated to PSN, but what do people mean by sounds still glitching? I did three hours of livery editing and getting my daily reward spin, but I didn’t have any sounds cut out or stop working like before the update. Tire squeal was consistant the entire time and I had BGM the whole time I was making a livery.

I think it's PS4 PRO problem...it really sucks loving to play in chase view and having no flames...I stopped playing until this crap is fixed...

I downloaded and I was disappointed, I thought it would come with more content, features and graphics improvements like better anti aliasing in cars !!! GT Sport has excellent gameplay and beautiful graphics, but it needs to improve the anti-aliasing effect, as it is still to see jagged in the cars, especially white and yelow solid color,choose for example the white Golf VII GTI 14, and you will see ! So I hope in the next updates, Polyphony Digital better anti aliasing effect on cars!need to put a qualifying training option for arcade and championship mode, and also need races with rain!

About time, wasn't exactly finding the "Taking Jamie to her School's Soccer game" look all that fitting while dicing for position at Interlagos in a LMP1 car.

With 1.16 are PD forcing a complete (rolled-up) re-installation of GTS updates and blowing away all the previous incremental updates?

After installation of the incremental 1.15 update (which weighed in at around 3gb iirc) I had to do a full re-install of GTS due to the main menu freeze bug appearing again; the full rolled-up 1.15 update weighed in at 24gb.

1.16 is also 24gb (well, just over) so have PD had a fundamental problem with patching patches of patches of patches and just gone for the nuclear option; pretty much a full re-installation of the game?

The huge size of the update appears to have been a glitch in Sony's update network/servers - pushing out all previous updates as well as 1.16 - and not, as I initially suspected, due to PD re-issuing all updates due to a messy patched codebase.

The glitch in the update network has now been fixed and the incremental 1.16 update, which people appear to be getting now, is available and around 107mb.

Great news for those on slow internet connections!

How can you be sure that it was the issue with the Sony's server, it still could be with PD patch, a mistake on their side. The issue afaik is faced with GT Sport only.

Because other games have had the same issue plus PD have stated in the patch notes the issue was with Sony's update distribution thingy!!!!

*24gb, and yes, 107mb is now correct. The 24gb update file was due to a glitch in Sony's update system pushing out all previous updates including 1.16. It has now been fixed; if you only need 1.16 you'll only get 1.16.

I have some footage from pre-patch when I uploaded a video here testing out the updated handling for the DS4 (I think it was the fix before the fix, so to speak). I’ll see if I can replicate that later on for ya

OK now I saw that because I came here to ask......
My Ps4 was in rest mode at night.
The update finished downloading and now I just launched GTS
No menu BGM.
I saw the updated article but unfortunately the update had already finished.
Now I checked for updates and the game says it's in the newest version.

Is there a way to fix this?

I downloaded and installed the update yesterday evening (around 21:00 CET) and I believe it was 107MB already, because even though I have good internet connection, 24GB could not have been downloaded and installed in ~5 minutes.
