GT Sport Update 1.16 Arrives

I don't think adding two extra cars will be considered enough to increment the game all the way up to 2.0. I think Spec 2.0 would be saved for a major content update.

GT6 didn't go to Spec II, and GTS isn't even half a year old, and hasn't even started it's first official FIA season. If GTS even receives a Spec II update I don't anticipate it until long until it's life cycle, I'm talking one or two years plus.

There are already patch notes and information about the patch. It is a complete reinstall of patches, essentially.

This thread is just making me realise how good my internet actually is. Downloading within 90 minutes

Well I might be able to play the game tomorrow then as my internet connection is currently showing 24 hours to download the
full install - ouch.

I have of course left it in rest mode while at work so hopefully it might have finished by the time I get home.

Have no complaints about a full reinstall, whilst I know there is nothing new in there will be interesting to see if it has fixed any of
my main problems with the game. (i.e not being able to upload stuff to the servers)

Do we know if it's a full re-install, or is this an assumption based it the patch being the same size as patches so far? Has it overwritten the space on the PS4 HDD, or does it add 24GB to it?

Might be tempted to do a back-up before a let the PS4 download this.

That is one heck of an update. I'll wait to see if there's any significant additions before I leave the PS4 to update. If its literally a reinstall to fix bugs, it can be left overnight to do it.

I don't understand why you would need to wait to see if there are significant additions when the patch notes are already out...and others are playing the game....and no one else is saying there is a significant addition. It isn't like the patch notes are going to lie, and it isn't like everyone playing the game is hiding the fact that Le Mans with full weather is playable.

I purchased GTS as a digital download on release... I'm expecting the reason for the rebuild enables new players who purchase GTS as a digital download to get up to 1.16 in their purchase and not need to download the game I bought and all the subsequent downloads.

Downloaded in only 18 minutes here. Are you guys using modems over there ? Now I understand why people are complaining about the ghost cars on the tracks so much with those bad connections

I must say, I love it that this game is so alive. People have no right to ask for anything yet a lot are screaming about tracks and options and all. Something is growing, new download, panic everywhere. Whats app groups are exploding, GT planet is exploding. It means this game is alive and kicking !

Great compliment to PD for creating such a beauty even though some people are of course not happy by the lack of their wished content. But this proves to me how good the game actually is, or none of this would ever happen.

"Gran Turismo SPORT" has performed the update.
The fixes of this update are as follows.

1. Steering controller
　- Fixed an issue where Gilm Thrustmaster® T 500 RS could not be used with the update of 1.15.

2. Sound
　- Fixed an issue that no longer sounds, sound effects, or squealing sounds when playing the game for a while.

3. Sports mode / lobby
　- Fixed a problem where the car was not correctly displayed when pit stop was made.
　- Fixed the issue that the playback function at the time of watching could not be used.

In addition, we have made minor corrections and adjustments.

In addition, although we use SIE's differential patch distribution service for PS4 patch distribution, we have confirmed that this patch is in the state of re-downloading all patches.

We would like to thank you for "Gran Turismo SPORT" in the future.

I hadn't seen any patch notes or anyone officially confirming what it actually was, so I don't feel like using my free time before work having the game update when I can be playing something else and update this whilst I sleep.

Thank goodness I have a fast, unlimited, fibre internet connection, still took about 30 minutes to download though! Lets see what happens (if the servers are back up too, sometimes they're back up before the "end" of the scheduled maintenance).

Edit: Servers not back up yet. Oh well, I'll just amuse myself with GT League for a bit...

So can a computer wizard explain to me why all of the patches need to be redownloaded? Weren't the bugs due to a coding error or something?

I just find it hard to believe that it was just that something went wrong during the install of the updates and that this resulted in the same bugs for a ton of people.

One thing I wish PD would do is allow us to press the track pad and return to the main menu like DriveClub did. The UI is deeply layered and can to slow to go back through.

This is already possible. Deep down in any menu layer, you can press the top left GT logo button and choose exit, which brings you to the main screen. Which is obviously faster than keep pressing the back button 👍
