It was all good fun reading these 17 pages. Before this new tweet from today I was pretty certain that it was not a new track. Or at least, not only a new track. Since this video coverage seemed new and a month before it being released. Thus I was certain that it will be the introduction of dynamic wheather and day/night time !

The strong evidence for this:

- PD calls it a new update and not a new track
- you see the sun rising up from the mountain
- you see the lightning changing from dark to light
- first video as an update so a big thing/change is coming

This new teaser on the last page however about France killed my certainty a bit. Still cant believe only 2 people stating the obvious. But introducing day/night time and/or dynamic wheather would be something worth a new way of teasing and a month in advance wouldnt it ?

So my guess is a new track in France and introduction of day/night time and/or dynamic wheather. If it was not for the last tweet I would go for the latter.

Just a little of topic if Belgium wins the world cup Kazunori better treat us with Circuit de Francorchamps (SPA)!

Back to topic... there goes the Grand Valley theory

Mmm could be based on this lake?

So, anyone so hellbent on that bridge being a redesign of Grand Valley, how do you feel right now?

If we're being honest, the writing was in plain view for everyone to see. Given that the last content update brought Le Mans (a real track), history suggesting they alternate between real and original tracks and Alsace being the only road course to not have gotten a counterpart kind of says all one needs to know. Granted, calling this an alternate variation of Alsace is quite a stretch, given that Alsace is in.. well, Alsace.. but if it's in the same spirit and all, it's kind of a moot point.

And frankly, I'm all for another track in the same spirit as Alsace. Partly because it's a track inspired by ye olden racetracks, partly because it - to this day - annoys the hardcore elitists whenever you talk about it.

Bonus points for the timing of releasing a new French track in July.

Just to save you the disappointment, this isn't a dynamic day cycle shown. The teasers just start with a black background dark fade-in created in a video editor typical of cinematic scenes. If it was night time the bridge would be lit up at night as well and not pitch black. Moreover, PD would have to completely redo their baked global illumination lighting system to a real-time one in order to support time transitions. At the moment all of the GI light maps are baked, which gives considerably better quality than ones that try to simulate global illumination at run-time. If PD decides to bring back time transitions it won't be until next-gen where real-time GI will look better as ray-tracing becomes a norm.

Still hoping they bring out weather soon though.
