I spend more time speculating than playing the game, and when the update drops I'll prob play about 10 hours then I'll come back here for more speculation for the next month/s

Been playing Gran Turismo 6 lately doe... only for this sexy beaut

If F1 cars had paintball guns on the hood with some fake missiles it would bring millions of fans to motorsports ,but we cant count on crashes and penalties to make a race exciting.
Yes, that was exactly my point. Since Silverstone was used as an example of an exciting race, I pointed out that it wasn't because of the track. Therefore, you cannot conclude that Silverstone is a better track because it's wider than Brands.

A road course!? Really? This game (when you look at how many road cars have been added in the previous updates) is starting to look more and more like Driveclub, where in the world does the SPORT part of GT Sport come into this?

I feel like its starting to look more like a classic GT game.

I think with the FIA series underway, and revolving daily races, they are fulfilling their Sport obligations. Penalty complaints and all.

Although I would definitely love to take GTS physics/cars/graphics, and insert all of Driveclub's racing locales/tracks:tup:

IoM TT would be nice. We already have a car specifically for it

This is surely a Sport

So basically you mean a time trial with no competitive racing? Sport is more like group racing, cars actually overtaking each other, not just a casual drive and show event.

The thing is that this is not a classic GT game, it's supposed to be a platform for e-sports racing. GT7 should have tracks like this, not GTS.

And that WRX TT Car for this new circuit sounds like a one-off, apart from road cars it's the only tuned/race car that looks the part for this location, all the other race cars are meant for proper race tracks.

EDIT: And if you're thinking let's take a rally car there, there's no way that will go well either. The sections shown in the teaser are way too narrow for any good tussle or small nudge.

It's ok to have other things. An Esports game doesn't have to be solely focused on its Esports mode. Dota 2, League of Legends, Counterstrike, etc. all have other game modes and stuff you can do that's unrelated to the 'main' game and that's perfectly fine. Otherwise it's an unnecessary restriction that doesn't allow much creative freedoms.

Road courses and road cars are part of motorsports, they are still adding race cars(classic and modern) a little variety with road cars doesn't hurt.

I think it comes in the form of sport mode maybe!

Are you forgetting about gr.x? These cars are out of place in a esports game.

For the record i don't think TT will happen. Nor am I that fussed. I just think it would be kinda cool, and preferable to another fake track.

You obviously misunderstood my question. How does a road course (as far as I know), belong in GT SPORT?

And the livery editor can add that track-day appearance/authenticity, I get it. It's just that it's starting too look very similar to Driveclub, that isn't really officially organised racing (in appearance), and it's a bit worrying.

Haha, that's cute...

I was talking about the track, not the cars, but since you mentioned those, some of them, yes, should've gone straight to GT7 (albeit the safety cars, racing karts, formula, and 60's-70's race cars, because they are related to racing).

Haha, that's cute...

What's cute might I ask?

Ok got you now! We know no details about this new circuit yet! Yea the latest teaser makes it appear as a road course (like Sierra) however we need to remember that a large section of LeMans is technically a road course. To question if it belongs or not is a bit premature at this stage IMO

And when you happen to see 0 kerbs in the teasers and no run-off, while Le Mans has both, what comes to your mind? That could only make one think it's going to be like Sierra, minus the kerbs (which could be good or bad depending on how you look at it).

This is a short departure from the track-based locations that have been released since launch.

@K32 I almost wanna guarantee that at least the next 2 or 3 track updates will be a real-world track or a GT classic track.

The fact that you think a timed rally is somehow not competitive racing.

What that other guy was showing in another post was a very amateur time rally/road race, the cars were nowhere near the same in performance.

I definitely would want some more real-world tracks too. Spa, Silverstone, and maybe Fuji as well. They were all in GT6 with great detail and I'd imagine that it wouldn't be too hard to get them into GTS. :)

Mt. Panorama at Bathurst is a road course ;)

Bathurst (or Mt. Panorama) is a Motor Racing Circuit. What you said is just a synonym for it.

Looking like DriveClub isn't a bad thing

Driveclub-GIF.gif

Slidey boi (joke lol), imminent collision and drifting at almost every turn. These are not part of SPORT. This is more like NFS.

Actually from what I could gather in the video, they had a classing system. Also, the event did not seem very amateur and even if it was, it doesn't change the fact that it is a competitive form of racing.
