I was browsing the QM Exiles thread still trying to get what it's all about,
We're a great bunch of people that used to do a shedload of Quick Match races back in our GT6 days. As we used to race each other regularly, we all got to know each other and found we had much in common, most notably, our despise for anyone that used SRF and our love of clean racing. We then all began to inhabit the QM thread for some serious conversations, and many more light hearted not-so-serious ones, but once the GT6 servers went down and we all gravitated to GT Sport we became homeless. So that's when @bone_tone came up with the QM Exiles thread, a great place for us to continue our banter.... and everyone else is welcome to drop by :)

BB Raceway sounds like a cliché NASCAR joke "hey what would those NASCARS do if they found a right turn?"
Which would be "funny" if Nascar didn't also do the odd normal (non-oval) track; Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, Road America, Sonoma Raceway and Watkins Glen.

Watkins Glen:

I wouldn't count the Ford GT out just yet. The version we're most likely getting is the one from GT5, which would be 2009+ in terms of racing technology. As for real life, the Ford GT GT3 was entered into the Dubai 24H by Lambda Performance this year, the 2018 Dubai 24H.

That's the livery I'm recreating the minute the update drops. :)
Whoah! How did it fare? That's quite amazing :)
Well , technically the Ford GT LM Spec II isn't a GT3 , rather a GT2-GT1 car from that era. I don't really think that there will be a problem with balancing the car , it was already very well matched with the GT3s on GT6. Also , the GT by Citroen is a 2009 car but it ain't slow by any means
Ohhhh, I always assumed it was a GT3 car. Whoops :dunce:
Fair point about the Citroen. Only thing about it is I keep forgetting its age because of how it looks. Hopefully PD will set its BoP right- there's hope for that car not like Group C in Gr. 1 :)
Also , GT3 wasn't even a thing back in 2004 :P
TIL :D

That's a great friendship that you guys have  gtp can do amazing things sometimes

I've just made sure I have all necessary decals for my 4 planned liveries for the Mercedes-AMG W08 EQ Power. Both my favourite racing manufacturers, Toyota and Maserati, are getting a pair of new liveries. Pity I have work tomorrow!

By the time I'm playing there will complete grid offerings for the last 10 F1 seasons probably. Good stuff.

don't think that F1 will be placed into the Gr. X class, doesn't make any sense.

only category that F1 could fit is a Gr. A class
Why i dosen't make sense ? in Group X why have anything from the little BMW I3 even tho is a production car & should rightfully be in N200 just because its electric (which makes no sense since this technology is not expiremental anymore (at least for road use) while the Toyota SF-R Racing Concept a car with levels of performance same if not better as a GR.4 car seats in N400 another example the Aston Martin Vulcan allthough being a track only car is listed in N800 while the Mercedes VGT dispite having a 1 working road legal example for a movie (i think it is the avengers?) btw still waiting on the interior PD ehem... is listed under Group X so yea.. also Group a is for old touring/rally cars only.

Yes pls. Segregate Group C from Gr. 1! :P
THANK YOU!

I was browsing the QM Exiles thread still trying to get what it's all about, and then I came across @Mwerte's car teaser picture. He said he didn't edit anything, but for some reason his pic is the only one I can see a wing on the Ford GT...

Quite frankly, I'm very disappointed that PD will include a GT3-spec car from 2004. It's just really out of place for my personal taste just like Group C in Gr. 1, and probably aerodynamically/mechanically outdated compared to the others. Maybe, maybe BoP can still try to fix it since it's not as long a shot as Group C in Gr. 1, but it'll probably end up like iRacing's case where no one uses the car because it's out of place already
First of all *2005 now if this particular GT comes i would say it will be the black Evo version in effect from 2008 or maybe a slightly new Evo 2 or Spec iii etc version but if it comes back as it was ill say fear it if anything because its baceclly a GT1 Spec car & to my knowledge GT1 cars were a lot quicker than what GT3 are know i fear this might turn out to be the Megane Trophy of GR.3 also there nothing wrong with the car being old in today's GR.3 daily race when i checked the leaderboard 5 hours ago i saw 2 Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3's a big heavy 5 year old car & when i checked again 3 hours ago i saw a BMW Z4 GT3 (7 Years old)
also i saw a faw C7's you can consider them old too since this car is based around the 2014 Stingray with worse on paper performance than the real C7.R.

The question nobody asked yet, will the daihatsu copen be the 2002 model or the new one?

Yup, I was mistaken that it was a GT3 car. I wouldn't go so far as to say that it'll be OP though, since it does already have some age, and as someome pointed out, is evenly matched against the other GT3 cars in GT6. It's true that age doesn't matter as much in Gr. 3, given that the oldest actual car is from 2011, and the Citroen being made in as early as 2009. It's just my personal taste that it might be too old since it is from 2005. Hopefully I'm wrong, I do want to use this car competitively

Why it doesn't make sense? In Group X we have anything from the little BMW I3 even tho is a production car & should rightfully be in N200 just because its electric (which makes no sense since this technology is not experimental anymore (at least for road use) while the Toyota SF-R Racing Concept a car with levels of performance same if not better as a GR.4 car seats in N400.

Imagine racing with F1 car through field of road cars.

Another example is the Aston Martin Vulcan although being a track-only car is listed in N800 while the Mercedes VGT despite having a 1 working road legal example for a movie (i think it is the avengers?) btw still waiting on the interior PD ehem... is listed under Group X so yea.. also Group a is for old touring cars only.

Mercedes is a Vision GT project and must be listed under Gr.X. Read a group definition if you don't know what is about.

You gave me two examples:
  1. Toyota S-FR Racing Concept
  2. Aston Martin Vulcan
Toyota it's listed under N400 class, because it's a Racing Concept. That blue Peugeot concept is listed under N class too.

Aston is a road car, despite it can be only used in trackdays. It doesn't fit Gr.X for example.

Also Gr.A makes sense for F1 car, not for touring cars. These aren't confirmed for now, so you can't say that they will come to the game. I know that you're referring to "real" class.

I would honestly say that Gr.A is supposed to be a Rally Car class positioned either above Gr.B (which makes it for top-level Rally Cars with Gr.2-esque aero), or below Gr.B like IRL (which makes it the Gr.4 of the Rally world, similar to Gr.B being the Gr.3 of the Rally world.)

This is not a suggestion thread. ;)
That's one way to derail the topic
My point is the Tomahawk can already do this because it's in Gr. X, despite all the reasons why it shouldn't. I don't see why the F1 would be any different

We'll just see what happens after the update

@wafflz, thats the livery I am going to use right after you share it. :)

Alright, it might be a bit of a wait because I’m going to need some of the files made in SVG format first. I’d say it should be ready in a couple days. I’ll quote you in my gallery when it’s uploaded.

Whoah! How did it fare? That's quite amazing

15th overall, 7th in class (GT3 Pro) completed something like 30 less laps than the race leading AMG GT3. I think they had some technical problems that caused them to pit for a while, however it finished the race fortunately.

Not bad!
Oh please not the old one, don't trigger my Coffee Break memories(I AVOIDED ALL THE CONES YOU STUPID GAME )
Oh right the coffee break challenges. I haven't tried them because my game crashed everytime I tried to do them (along with S license tests) :dopey:

My guess Gr.A is similiar to Group A rallying in real life for the sake of historical accuracy. Another possibilities it could be Group A track cars/touring cars but I doubt it since we already have Gr.4 cars in which actually Group A modern equivalent.

If Gr.A is more powerful class than Gr.B than it might closely resembles the forgotten Group S rally that cancelled in late 80's. Would be nice to see if PD took that route instead to be honest because Group S is supposed to be the most fastest and craziest rally class ever... However, after several fatal incident happened near and at the end of Group B era the proposed higher class was deemed too dangerous and then abandoned for good. What only left is some of the surviving Group S prototypes used for testing.
