GT Sport Video Shows Off Improved Photomode and Scapes

I wonder what size is the picture? Be nice if the size is big like a movie poster size. Which is 37" x 26".

Would love to print these Scape pictures and frame them but worry about the resolution quality. May not be good enough resolution for printing these scape pictures.

That's my fear. The PS4 Share option screenshots are really crap quality. Lots of compression. I'm hoping PD implemented saving pictures like they have before, where pictures can be exported from the game directly to the gallery instead of having to use the Share button. That way, we'll have high res pictures and they won't be compressed or have extreme amounts of jaggies.
Pretty sure it will be the same as the last two GT games. That's why the process isn't as brisk as taking photos in Driveclub ( I assume ).
Had forgotten about that, but looking at the video I'm not seeing an option where we could possibly switch views.

Another thing I'm wondering is that twice now I've seen the "3 cars" limit. While it seems sensible that the amount of cars possible is dictated by the background framing/available space, I wonder if this will still be possible or if there are now limitations:

I'm certain I saw Kaz say you can add as many cars as the scene will allow to be fitted.

I find it interesting so many people are into this. I recommend grabbing a camera and shooting the real deal! Now THAT is satisfying :D

Not hating, just find it interesting it's so popular.
I have a camera, I use it. I still took over 10k photos in GT5/6.

Quick question about Scape mode. When you are in Scape mode, does it provide all the cars in the game or do you have to earn the cars or buy the cars with game credits?

From looking at some videos of Scape mode, it looks to be all the cars are available to use in Scape mode. I don't think you have to have the cars in your garage in order to use them in Scape mode.

Love photomode. Wanna really impress me though? When there's no need to photoshop the scape ;)
Honestly you won't really need to anymore (unless you want to make significant changes). There are so many features and filters that it's almost like Photoshop Lite is stuck in there which is amazing for the graphic design guys (plus the photographers too).

Kaz has always been a passionate photographer and it's making me so happy seeing him giving it all the attention he can. I always remember, a little while back (before GT Sport), he was talking about how the photo mode in GT5/6 wasn't totally satisfactory for him, but I think he said something like "one day, we'll get there", well something reminiscent of that anyway.

So so pumped for this. Scapes have been one of the biggest attractions for me ever since it was revealed. Love the idea so much and I get more and more excited when I see all the extra additions that have been stuffed in there.

Well, I hope y'all enjoy it. If I use it all it will be just to unlock something or for a trophy. I'm not sure how much time it took develop this mode or how much space on the game it takes up, but I don't see the point in it. I'd prefer the equivalent in resources be spent on more tracks.

Do you happen to have a public website or a link to flickr so we can see your real life shots? I'd love to see it, honestly.

I really beleive that there is no reason for us to worry in that way. Because the guys and girls employed with the goal of developing scapes are realy not those that would be programing and developing physics, career or any other game features apart from those conected with photography. Also, note that GT had photomode from very early on, so it is not that PD suddenly decided to nerf some other part of their development team just in order to bolster this one :)

If they removed photo mode from GT, there would be an uproar. There is a huge and passionate community that loves taking photos in GT games. Me included. It's something that we find a lot of fun in. Plus some of us just like a gallery of our best images.

Having 5 or so extra tracks is nice but I'd rather have the photo mode. I use it so much, it's kind of a big deal for me in GT. Of course, everyone has their own opinions and we see it in a different light but that's fine. It's like me saying I'd rather have the 150 Super Premium cars rather than 350 GT6 carryovers (which I don't even think work with physically based rendering). You may say, "well I'm not worried about the difference in quality too much, I just want more cars", which is perfectly fine. Hell I wouldn't mind them, not at all. More cars is always better but if I could choose I'd probably take 150 cars that are modelled to the same spec. I guess I'm kinda 60/40 on that one.

Bottom line: I totally respect your opinion and can see it from your perspective, but personally I'd like to keep the photo mode. :)

I may have more than a few misgivings about GT these days, but the photomode isn't among them. I'm very much looking forward to seeing what this community will create with GTSport. :)

This depends on wether there are jaggies of if the smoke needs tidying up.

The video was quite impressive with how in depth the effects were for the camera it's self, but the scapes thing is just kinda stupid. The photomode was going to be the saving grace to get me to get a PS4 and GT again, but as amazing as the graphics and detail of the adjustments for the camera, the scapes thing seems like it'll get old quick. The number of them is one thing, but I feel like it'll get old quick, and become very repitive within the photomode forums. Giving us more locales but less freedom isn't gonna spawn more creativity imo. It's almost like a more limited Keyshot made for a PS4, which isn't a good thing. I think we'd much rather take a smaller amount of 3d modeled, free to roam and place sceneries ala GT5 than a 1000 places where we can only move the camera in a certain range and get certain angles.

It's like 1 step forward and 5 back anymore with this game.

Ehhhhhhhhhhhhh, don't really agree.

But really there is no need to photoshop the scape. The car in the scape, yes but the scape itself is real. Unless of course you want to alter/add or filter the scape in way the game doesn't allow for. ;)

Nice to see another photomode great chime in on this. A few have already mentioned the freedom and creativity issue with regard to scapes before, and while I do agree, it isn't all bad. At least now that we have even more control over the camera and its settings it should make in-game/on-track photograpghy even better. :)

As for the video, I was hoping they'd have some different footage to show of another couple scapes, was pretty much a slightly extened version of bits we saw before from them. We did get to see a few more of the options and settings this time which is good. It's looking pretty sweet, although I doubt I'll use many of the filters or masks in there. Still not quite as much control as just photoshopping, but great for the casual photomoder I guess. I am a little concerned and hoping that image output quality is better this time around as this will help with editing, resolution is one thing but it doesn't mean a whole lot when the image compression isn't good.

Nice to hear there are even more panning controls and it looks like more focal control too, been wanting things like this since GT5. Lens distortion and colour temp is great and even highlight colour adjustment, nice!

Although with all these things you can do to the shot now, I can imagine some of the garish images some people may produce. No offence.

Also looks like I'll be spending more time in game and little less time editing out of it.

So overall in certian areas I think we have more creative freedom over style of photograpy and such, which is going to be great for on-track shooting but I can see that scapes will have its limitations. But with a 1000 scapes there will still be plenty of combos to try and come up with some unqiue stuff for a while.

Besides those of us that are advanced photomoders 'you know who you are ;)', shouldn't have too many problems being creative with all this. We could just modifiy the scapes or change or add elements if we really want and voila!, something unique is born. Plus coupled with the livery editior this going to be great. These two features alone would be enough reason for me to buy GT and get my monies worth.

I'm getting rather impatient now, I just want the game already, but sadly still got 2 months to go. :(

Applogies for the long-ish read.

I do not want to believe that there will be a trophy for those who take 1 photo with all the cars in all circuits .. would be of those ultra-rare 0.01% ... however, the content is very good and for who like make pics in the race or In landscapes, have here a game, with PDi quality... since GT4, a huge game with a photomode Brutal.
As for me, I'll take some pics, one of them in Nurb to the nearest barbecue, to see if we now can smell it ("promise" of GT6), reflected in the rearview mirror of the PEUGEOT Vision Gran Turismo, with the exhaust fire of a Porsche (959 when it appears) ... Although I really liked that there were so many circuits as the landscapes of photomode, and a circuit-maker of the same level, up to 20km I will try Nurb, if at least 15, is nice for La Sarthe.. the slope, will be asking a lot, but already now ... Brno & Watkins Glen type.

Has anyone else noticed the photos getting just a tiny bit more photorealistic or is it just me?

Because this is getting really freaky and I couldn't tell the difference on the MX5 photo in the most recent article.

Then it's just you: that photo is from the initial Copper Box reveal. :P

GT's photo mode has always been the best in the genre. I can't think of another racing series with a photo mode that is as in-depth as the ones we got in GT4 and up; no other game comes close in my experience. Scapes looks to take photo mode to the next level, and with the added livery editor, I'm sure a lot of cool stuff will show up around these forums. I think its inclusion is well appreciated by many fans, myself included. The driving/racing aspect of the game aside, photo mode would be my number one reason to buy GTS.
