You've completely misread my post. I didn't want to compare the M3 GT to a GT3 car, I wanted to compare a GT3 car like the Mercedes AMG GT to the Zonda R.
Hmmmm

The Zonda R acts as I expected it to; it brakes within a reasonable distance, has good grip and gives a GT3 car a good run for it's money. In fact my time in the M3 GT was slower around Catalunya. Which surprised me.

You mention GT3 and then mention a car that isn't a GT3 and then acknowledge me saying this?
The M3 GT isn't a GT3 car. An unrestricted GT3 car (not BoP'd in any way) would straight up murder it.

Let's put that to the test then!

Interesting as I make zero reference to the Zonda anywhere.

What I dont get is that these guys included a Group X Zonda however they included no events for it?

So err... if I spend $1.8 mil then where am I running this thing except in custom races?

What a waste of content.

they probably will at some point like with the classic race cars and the Mini's.

Why are the microtransactions still not available?

New tracks and cars are well cool additions, and obviously that's what everybody desires with the monthly updates. However what I really want in the next update is some new music. The current playlist is very very good, excellent even, but after 6 or 7 months of playing GTS it's wearing a bit thin.

Yeah, I know I can turn the music off, and I guess the licensing of new music is probably cost prohibitive, but please PD, a bit of new music if you can - maybe ask Sony with a "pretty please" - they've got a big portfolio of the stuff.

NO. Screw licensed music. Don't you realize the whole reason we don't get Gran Turismo classic versions on PS4, or on the new Playstation classic is because of the licensed music? Use spotify.

What PD should do is let us choose what songs to use like they did in GT6 and GT5

For the sake of an interesting comparison, I decided to try and test this. BMW M3 GT against the BMW M6 GT3 Walkenhorst at the Nürburgring (Since they are both specially made for the 24 Hour race). Default setup and stock power for both, no BOP either. I wouldn't say I am one of the fastest, but here's the result:

Can confirm this is straight up Homicide.

There's always the option to download music and play it off a USB. I personally didn't like how PD didn't include any of Daiki Kasho's PS2-era songs so I took it upon myself to fix that. Unless you mean menu music, then yeah it's a bit on the short side but you can always turn on Transmission Mode for GT5-6 songs. What makes it even better is that it disables the race music so the game practically begs you to add your own.

I was kinda dumb stating that the Subaru 22B has a Supercharger + Turbocharger ala Lancia Delta S4.

Still the sound it makes on the interior resembles so much to the supercharger whine albeit slightly muffled. I think when Top Gear reviews Prodrive P2 with similarly sounded whine, it is actually a very loud differential whine.

Not sure though. Anyone have a guess what parts produces such whine?

Could be the transmission.

While in principle I agree, the fact of the matter is that GTS is already full with licensed music, so adding some more isn't going to make any difference whatsoever to the ability, or lack thereof, to republish the game in the future.

Drove only 2 cars so far
22b - love it. The sound is quality. It drives like a good sti. It even makes a gud drift car with comfort soft tyres at the rear.
Automotive goodness.
NSX - stands for this car effiN SuX. This car is not competitive at all. Nowhere near the downforce or the ease of drivability of the 2016. It might be faster in the straights? Though it tops out ~170 so I don’t see the point.
Maybe if I tune it myself, and make this fat car lose some weight I might like it, but as it stands it’s just 800,000 cr wasted that I could’ve bought one of the other 2016 cars

Yes the old super gt’s are useless additions to gr2. They are only fillers for the overall car count.

Do manufacturers not get a say in which cars are chosen? I would think BMW would want PD to feature new-gen MINIs as part of the licensing deal.

They actually do. Bonus points for Toyota USA for removing the Toyota Celsior and Aristo from Maximum Tune 5's US release because they're not branded by their Lexus counterparts unlike Tokyo Xtreme Racer 3. They argued they didn't think the F10 LS 400 and JZS161 GS 300 are fit to appear in the game, and threatened to either have Bandai Namco instead model their all-new LS/GS models with Lexus licensing or remove them completely.

I also realised the MINI in question is one of the few supercharged cars in the game. That alone must be why it was chosen.

I also wasted 800k on the NSX. Car was a train wreck when I used it on Sport Mode.

No but lots of people here like to pretend they are a good addition to GR2.

I'll grab a ladder, it will help you get over your own opinion.

People aren't "pretending" they are a good addition to the group, they believe they are, you don't. Are you just "pretending" to know better?

Looks like I'm in the minority then. I like the NSX.

Did a 20 lap race around Fuji featuring all 6 Super GTs (08 and 16 models) using the newly bought NSX and it may not be as agile in the corners compared to the 2016 model but it's alright. I've yet to try out the GTR and SC430 since I'm running low on credits (gonna have to grind the Monza/Le Mans race in the Nostalgic 1979 event).

Ugh. Wanted to download the 1.29 update, but when I got the correct version (2.566 GB), the system ends up stagnating the update and initiate the download of a monstrous reinstall (35+ GB!).

Hopefully with this attempt, the system will let me update my game...

EDIT: Update installed!

Well it seems I am gonna have to try and do the Group 2 race with the old cars. I am pretty sure it has a chance since the video
I shared yesterday for a long period had the old Nissan GT-R from 08 in 1st place till his tyres wore out.

Hopefully video tomorrow!

All I want to know is if we will ever get DTM cars on Gr2, or the class is going to be only for GT500 cars, because there is a Professional League cup on GT League that is called "All-Japan GT Car Championship" that is meant to be the event dedicated to Gr2 class of racecars, just like Begginer League has the Gr4 cup, the Amateur League has the Gr3 cup, and the Professional League has the Gr1 cup.

I doubt that we will get DTM. Last time we saw DTM cars in GT was GT3 iirc. I think there might be the same issue like with F1: Car manufacturers/teams fear that some important aerodynamic parts are clearly visible and some teams will copy them. Alternative we get some older DTM cars like 2017 or 2018 now.

I usually talk seriously and dont quite get it sometimes

Yes, real world tracks, they did several variants in the past for La Sarthe, Fuji, Monza, Brands Hatch, Silverstone... Both shortened variants and also older versions of the full track itself

I think you still don't know what I'm talking about. Yes, I know that there are several layouts for eal world tracks in GT:S. My point is that they never added some later. Yes, new tracks like Red Bull Ring, Monza etc. have different layouts from the beginning (cause they are later added tracks) but Nürburgring GP didn't get any additional one. There are more.

As far as American cars it would be nice to see ,
2017-18 Camaro as Chevrolets GR4 entry. Corvette remains GR3.
2017-18 Challenger as the Dodge GR4 entry and for now leave the Viper as the GR3.
2017-18 Mustang be Fords GR4 and introduce a 2017-18 Ford GT as the GR3 entry.

For classic American muscle, 1970 models of the Camaro, Mustang, Challenger and Cuda along with an AMC Javelin all in period correct trans am racing trim.
1970 All American pony car manufacturers had factory backed trans am racing efforts.
It would also be nice to include some American tracks to race them on as well. Willow is not a track of any significant recognition and I think the only reason it was used was it was easy to model because flat featureless desert landscape is quick and easy to model.

The Gr. 3 - Gr.4 thing makes absolutely sense, that's just lazy from PD use the same base renders to increase car count.

As for muscle cars, GT Sport have been introducing some vintage cars but clearly doesn't know what to do it.
If they created different classes for vintage cars (Vx00 for vintage or Cxx0 for classic or Hxx0 for istoric or whatever they would like to call it), with would be great to make lobbies of vintage cars only.

Teams dont need to rely on games to have advantage over their competitors. In-game aero deciption could be unreliable and each team probably has millions of spy shots and other info over their rivals, just to gain the tiniest of margins. I doubt that would be the reason they wouldnt appear in the game (licensing would be a more probable cause)... That said, even 2017 or 18 cars would be a pretty cool addition to Gr.2.
