La Sarthe doesn't have a SINGLE 3d tree . PD got clever and made composit 2d trees .

I don't see anything wrong with this. Considering La Sarthe is basically a bunch of long straights surrounded by nothing but a very dense forest of trees, having needless 3D stumps would result in the same horrendous pop-in found on Monza's rettifilo straight. PD did the smart thing this time and actually made assets they can better optimize for less LOD and pop-in issues. The 2D trees look great anyway, with realistic looking leaves having material properties that react to light.

Considering the stumps/branches actually look like they were initially 3D modeled similar to the ones on Monza, I wouldn't be surprised if PD has those 3D assets and converted them to 2D optimize for PS4 performance, and leaving the 3D assets for use on "PS5" hardware.

All trees in all videogames have 2d leaves . Gr sport has 3d trunks / branches . This is a 2D trunk. I'm worried now . Dragontrail gardens had no 3d trees and you could tell.

I agree DragonTrail trees look bad, but that's less of a 3D/2D thing and more of an artistic thing. I dunno what they PD was going for when they created those trees. The 2D trees in La Sarthe look considerably more realistic and impressive compared to the ones on DragonTrail.

Man GT is really smashing it with these updates.

Honestly I thought at first it was silly having the lower content count at launch but its pretty clever, these constant updates keep them in the news, it gives people excuses to try new content and people feel nice because its all free(well aside from ps+)

Nah, I’d rather have the complete game at launch when I spent $60 on it. It’s a game, not a stock future.

Hope you can get to enjoy the complete game for 18 months before it goes offline.

Will take some getting used to the extreme penalties for just using the rumbles... I keep redding my laps through old habits haha! The track looks excellent  but... those penalties are very strict compared to the other tracks, not saying I don't like it though! Maybe simpler if they implement these track limits on every other tar track too, although it might cause chaos in online races?

Good to see a decent update

Is there maybe on option to turn of the understeer rumble effect? This is such a great game with all the updates. Only I really don’t like the understeer rumble and this why I barely play GTS :(

BTW playing with csl elite

Not too keen about this as I try to avoid giving away personal data wherever possible and entering fake stuff defeats the point here, especially on the age part :guilty:

I only have money for one of the new GR1 cars, the C9 is the obvious choice, but i am a bit worried about how much it whips its tail...

any early testers with feedback?
I just leave the TCS on 3 for the R92CP. SO. MUCH. POWWUHHHH.

Just did 2 laps at La Sarthe in the R92CP and it handles like a dream. Not to mention it sounds good too. Easily my favorite from the pack.
I took the R92CP for a spin at the Le Mans daily. I qualified fifth and finished second. I probably could have been a contender for first but got knocked off track at Arnage on the first lap by a 919. It's seriously fast on the straightS too. But I do want some seat time in the XJR-9 and the Sauber too.

Me neither, but they already really have email address anyway. Plus when you register your local region, age and email are all private, can’t be seen by other players.

That's something at least, thanks for the heads-up.

Something tells me the Megane Trophy will become OP.
It's not even built from a road car, it's purpose built for racing. Really odd choice there. The car will dominate Group 4 because it has the best handling.

I gather that it was a matter of when, not if, we were getting Le Mans. All the signs were there pointing directly to it's inclusion. But I must admit, it blows SMS' effort out of the water. It looks soo much more accurate; you wouldn't expect anything less.

Another thing to note - the C9 actually sounds like a V8 now. Big improvement. However, I'm more surprised about the sound of the R92CP. It's a much deeper note than I was expecting, and it's great. The XJR-9 has also improved greatly. It is so good to see some legends of the game come back, and the fact we can access this content FOR FREE is amazing. It has made my entire week.

That's very nice too hear, I am very much looking forward to trying these cars out when I get home from work but I think the
Jaguar will be my favourite as I always have had a soft spot for that car due to the livery.

Well I just woke up and have 2 hours before heading to work, so I'll get it downloaded and ready for my return tonight. I am tempted to call in sick...

As for understeer rumble, I kind of like it. What I don't like is not being able to feel the rear tires losing traction. That needs a rumble.
