Look, you were the one who started with the whole "Deal with it" attitude, so don't come back at me with that.

Let's take a step back and figure out what each of us are arguing here, because I don't think we're on the same page.

I'm arguing the Group 1 BoP is ridiculous because, in real life, the cars in that class are horribly outmatched, compared to each other and, in order for racing to be even, on any track (because you don't only race at Le Mans in GT Sport), they're going to have to do (and are already doing) some pretty artificial and unrealistic performance tweaks on the cars for them to race together. I don't like that artificial performance.

I'm also arguing that, generally speaking, Group C is inferior to LMP1, outside GT Sport and in real life, not inside GT Sport.

I've provided good evidence and solid arguments to back my claims, which you keep calling invalid or ignoring. So I feel like we're not arguing the same thing.

Let's reset. What are you arguing for?
Look. I agree with most of what you have been posting.

The difference is that I have considered ONE track and ONE track only whereas you have used incorrect evidence as pointed out.

Let's look at it this way. There are no LMP1 cars in GTS. They are Gr.1 cars. There are no Group C cars in GTS. They are Gr.1 cars.

In terms of sounds, the Subaru sounds like it should, an 86. The 500 sounds like a motorbike, how it should.
It seems PD puts more effort into the audio of certain vehicles than others. Could it be that it is more difficult to capture the sounds of other vehicles?

PD doesn't understand time of day. Besides the fact that there are some in -game options for tracks that are called "Noon" when the time on screen shows it's at 11:30 or something clearly not 12:00 noon.

I went to the last time slot for La Sarthe to get some night racing. It says sunset, 22:15. First off the sun is always down by 10:15 at night no matter what season or latitude on the Earth. Secondly, it wasn't even close to dark. Headlights didn't shine on anything. I want a night race damnit!

Tell that people in the northern regions that have days where the sun barely goes down ;)

EDIT: Also at least here in Europe sunset is at around half past 9 but it doesn't really get dark until 11 I'd say.
Seriously? Still doesn't seem right for Le Mans. I've driven it in PCARS2 at the appropriate date for Le Mans and the sun sets sooner and it gets much darker

10pm at Le Mans during the race is daytime. That's 9pm in the UK. I can say, cos I live there, that it is daytime here as well.

I was talking specifically about the real life GT4 KTM. It has about 360hp and about 1000kg, depending on current BoP. And it’s certainly not in the spirit of the GT4-class. And yet, they made it work...
Is this car officially homologated for GT4? Because at the Nos 24h race, it raced in its own category as a cup car (Cup X) and was way faster than the other GT4 cars (20 seconds in qualifying). Very close to the 911 GT3 Cup cars.

Excuse me everyone for interrupting these important conversations but have you try turning the Brightness all the way down of your TV? It's not a permanent Night Time fix but it should do for now until they implemented Night Time racing in future updates. Again, I am sorry for any inconvenience.

Inconvenience? It's not your fault lol

I love reading through people's frustrations about penalties and out of bounds nonsense because I race in a league where we police ourselves and it works pretty much flawlessly. I don't ever worry about that crap because our Board of Directors will designate what is on track or not and if not someone racing with you will file a report if they find you went off and gained an advantage in any way. It's just easier than worrying about what the game might do.

Which of the three new LMP cars do you guys find to be the least handful? The Sauber C9 has the highest stability rating so I wanna start there

Agreed. Doesn't change the fact that, personally, I don't like that. I would have wanted Group Cs to remain Group Cs and LMP1s to remain LMP1s, instead of the mix-and-match that PD is doing with them. That's why I stay away from race cars in GTS. It's unrealistic.

The difference is that I have considered ONE track and ONE track only whereas you have used incorrect evidence as pointed out.

Okay, so you wanted to focus solely on Le Mans, but you have to realize prototypes do not race only at Le Mans. They race at other tracks (and will race on other tracks in GT Sport too) and it's perfectly valid to compare lap-times from other tracks, as long as the track is the same for both records.

Using only cars that are in the game, to compare pace, is difficult because:

1 - The modern LMP1s, in the game, have never seen a Le Mans without chicanes, while the 1988 Jaguar and the 1989 Mercedes raced without the chicanes. The track is different, their times cannot be compared.

2 - The Nissan R92CP never raced at Le Mans.

What we can do is, since the R92CP is very much based on the R90, which did race at Le Mans, is use the best time by the R90 to stipulate it's performance compared to the 2016 919 Hybrid, which is present in GTS.

The pole position of Le Mans, in 2016, by a 919, was a 3:19.7.
The pole position of Le Mans, in 1990, by a R90, was a 3:27.0.

In 1990, Le Mans already had the chicanes at Mulsanne. However, it's also worth noting that the Dunlop chicane complex was not as technical as it is today.

As you can see, the R90 was still quite a few seconds of the 2016 pace, and bear in mind the cars were slowed down for 2016.

So, strictly using cars from the game, things still do not favor Group C. Again, only using Le Mans and cars that are, currently, in the game to the best possible extent.

As you say though, there are no LMPs or Group Cs, there are only Group 1s. This argument really doesn't need to continue because GTS is not aiming for accurately replicating reality. I personally, don't like the way they group and classify race cars. If you do, more power to you. I just stay away from the classes I don't enjoy.

The Le Mans 24hrs is time to be as close as possible to June 22 so that there is the least amount of nighttime running. In practice this means about 3-4hours of dark out of 24. Not very much really. I have been to the race many times and, for me, the best time to watch was about 8pm. Nice glow from the setting sun and the crowds have thinned a lot. Great time to be opposite the pits as the car engine sounds echo between the pits and the grandstands. Ace.

Disappointing that they grouped the old group c prototypes with the newer LMP1s, they should be separate. Trying to balance all of these vastly different cars under BOP is just a waste of time.

Forza Motorsport did the exact same thing for years with old and new prototypes in "R class" and it never worked out well.

The regions for the UK seem so random, what with areas like mine completely missing but other towns get one for themselves, I'd expect this with Citys but Blackpool being one is just  It's not like I can just select Lancashire either as the only sub region there is the West part, very odd.

Yeah, for my overall county, there are so many towns and cities available. It's so detailed. I wish it was actually a bit more general so it is easier to find out what fellow players live near me, maybe meaning meet ups and stuff, however with it being so detailed for me, there will be very few players in the same selected region

Yep it is random, no secondary region for me.

Not sure you can do that anyway, the primary and secondary regions are private. Not sure how that works on the ranking board but I don’t think you can see anyone else’s region specific info?

Yes so many of these smaller areas should be sub regions, surely that's the whole point of having the sub section in the first place. For the UK Counties and Major cities would have sufficed, then the smaller areas could be sub areas in these places.

It will/should be what you want it to be, but in GT7. This isn't 7 (and is not trying to be). This is GT Sport and the only old thing in it really are the additional cars in updates (all free} and maybe GT League. I think quite a number of people who bought it knew it was online, e-sport focused. Which in this day is a good move forward, likely to be a part of every GT game henceforth.

Since all they add with the cars and tracks are single player/campaign additions, it clearly is trying to appease the players that wanted such content from the day they said 'new direction'

It's becoming GT7, lol. Could have been that and more.

Online racing and esports are most welcome, not against that at all. Clearly there's room for both in today's gaming. Again, had they laid better groundwork with a deeper campaign/roster that they're clearly adding too. And addressed the penalty system far better quicker, they'd not have to give updates that give us this stuff they didn't want to add initially and still need to be fixing things this far in.

They'd be free to move things forward, instead of spending time and effort on old content that should have been done in the first place.
