How come this thread title still says the update brings rain? A cache issue?
Newsie doesn't fetch, Newsie posts whatever is originally posted, just like any other user's post. It needs manually editing if the article changes and nobody's updated it (I ought to have done really) since the original post - I was trying to take Monday off after the World Tour, but PD had other plans!

I mean, I could change it now if it makes anyone feel better?

Waiting for players to say the Clio is undriveable, when they find out it's MR, short wheelbase with no downforce. :sly:

I often wonder about some of the people that openly despise road cars. Is it because they don't actually know how to drive them? Have they never played a Gran Turismo title before to understand that they've been a franchise staple for over 21 years??

Some people argue that “sport” only involves purpose-built racing cars. Not sure why.
If you ask me, I think road cars are even more enjoyable to drive than race cars. Nothing is quite as fun as trying to push a road car to achieve a great lap. Making cars do something that they weren't originally intended for is the best (nothing beats pushing a Raptor around the 'Ring).

And here's the thing, the franchise has long been host to several categories (not just road cars). I think they've done a lot to appease fans of different racing disciplines, even if some of those attempts leave more to be desired. I always took the titular Sport to be a reference to its eSports focus and not a term exclusive to the purpose-built race cars you mentioned.

I won’t lie, I don’t get the want for rain, it’s not an option I’ll ever purposely choose to use. But I am glad that we’re getting and update that includes things that people do actually want. Personally, I’m looking forward to the new cars and track, there can never be enough tracks, or cars to run on them, especially road cars. :)

I will have a pound of whatever you have been smoking, the faster the better for me I enjoy riding the edge of grip at speed and late braking. Road cars are cool mainly because people want to play in what they own, most folks surely prefer the exotics as they are beyond most of our means to own in real life... Im sure you will no doubt have a hoot in the truck in this update each to their own... though heavy slow vehicles are an aquired taste lol

Not everything has to be sleek, fast, and loud to be fun. Some of the best racing that I had on GT6 was racing 400pp cars on the Ring. If you like the race cars that's more power to you.

Haha, I know a few things ;P but anything about Rain I don't know about!

I would love to see PD communicate what they are doing a little better. Instead of these corny teasers after stuff is already leaked. Did we really need the silly silhouettes after the leak? Then the rain issue. It's a pretty big feature if it does get added...why not just say, "it's still in development but we wanted to show you what we are working on for a future update" OR "It's definitely in the next update".

Is that so hard? It's a horrible characteristic of this developer.

It's really annoying the way they don't communicate.

There are 2 new races for the Group B. event. I guess they'll be very similar to the repechage races from paris and the Nürburgring... I think there is a good chance for rain, at least at the red bull ring but that's speculation. we know more in a few hours and i really look forward to it.
Well, if this event has rain, the issue of not mentioning 'rain' for this update is solved, since there is already a similar event on Northern Island Speedway... with rain...

Not everyone who reads Kazunori's Twitter followed what happened at Nürbrugring over the weekend.

Probably because no one asked. PD only seems to communicate when asked directly during interviews. I agree they should talk a little more.

Looking forward to this update! Especially the Camaro and the Tundra! If rain makes an appearance 👍, if it doesn’t then ‘meh’. The one thing I’m honestly really intrigued about is the new scapes feature “Low angle - ground up”.

Edit: never mind, I assume it’s just a selection of existing scapes where the camera is at a low angle!

I concur that rain is unnecessary, just run harder tires if you want less grip.

I get you, but...Whether or not people follow special events or twitter or whatever should not matter. PD should communicate better. The idea that they don't mention something because no one asked is backwards. My point is that in today's day and age developers communicate...and sometimes, even look for input from the fan base. What a novel idea, eh?

Oh, and the argument that this approach drives discussion about their product is equally backwards. IMHO
