GT Sport's Next Update Arrives This Week, Brings Cars, Tracks, and Rain

PR is public relations not public announcements

Pretty much all the gaming media I read assumed rain was coming tomorrow, there was not really any doubt other than on how many tracks, want proof read this thread

To ignore this speculation by your customers is wilfully misleading them, and a PR disaster

Bring out Jim Bowen, come and have a look what you could've won... (Bit UK centric but never mind)

Kaz must have lost his Twitter password
No one from Sony/PD said it was going to be in this newest update. They don't have to acknowledge rumors and speculation either.

For the GT League, I was expecting an event relating to the pickup trucks like in GT4 “Sport Truck Race” since the Toyota Tundra can compete with the Ford F-150.

How would that affect PD’s PR? PD NEVER said rain was coming this update. If all gaming media said rain was coming to media then that’s their fault and it’s their PR at risk.

lol showing a new Feature on a Event doesn't mean, it will be included in the very next Update. If anyone was misleaded, than the Players itself

Adding a new Graphic Feature is just another Story and requires more fine tuning than just adding New Tracks or Cars

Assuming rain doesn't come for now, I agree that the public has been misled. Rain was shown like most of the cars in the update. The cars definitely arrived, so it's hard to blame people for also expecting rain.

They teased X2019 at Paris earlier this year and they're only including it now. Maybe they just want to show what they're working on even if its not finished or they want to spend more time on it after they recieved feedback about it.

They shouldn't have teased rain unless it's in this update or they should have let us know it wasn't coming yet during the broadcast.

I wouldn’t really consider that a “tease” though. The FIA events have always been testing grounds for things we eventually got (new tire model & Penalty Zone to name a couple.)

There was no reason to suspect it was coming immediately in the next update, because this hasn’t been the case historically.

There are 2 new races for the Group B. event. I guess they'll be very similar to the repechage races from paris and the Nürburgring... I think there is a good chance for rain, at least at the red bull ring but that's speculation. we know more in a few hours and i really look forward to it.

There were 2 cars in the update out of the 5 shown during the broadcast. That's not most.

And things being shown during a World Tour event are not confirmations of immediate addition to the game. They showed the changed penalty serving areas last year that didn't hit the game for months and the physics changes from a year ago that didn't arrive until later in the summer. People need to learn to temper their expectations when it comes to PD and updates.

PD probably may need more time for optimisation.

It is still better better to wait a bit more than rushing out a Weather feature, which probably causing Performance Issues

Can we just wait until the update actually arrives before making assumptions then being dissapointed from it? Please?

Nope, makes too much sense for our "Gimme Gimme" crowd and their inability to think.

3 things:

1) PD never actually confirmed there would be wet weather arriving in this update as far as I'm aware
2) The GTP article on this never confirmed there would be wet weather arriving in this update either
3) Polyphony - If a huge chunk of your fanbase is speculating about a feature arriving in the next update it's generally a good idea to correct them on it to avoid negative sentiment around the update

Well, try to avoid negative sentiment. I say "try" because I bet you for the next 6 updates even when its just new cars and tracks, there will still be negative sentiment no matter what PD does.

All cars in the update except the Red Bull were shown last week. Go back to the first few pages of the thread.

Maybe you’re just not good at racing. You may need to learn the ‘I don’t need my teddy bear anymore I’m grown up boy now’ new tracks to get more enjoyment out of them.

In 10 years some of these new track will be the ‘nostalgia tracks’ that people will be pining for.

These people? Tempering Expectations? We're at a point in time where common sense doesn't exist and stupidity runs rampant. This is advice that has been given for years and still, they haven't learned a damn thing.

I just through numbers out off the top of my head based on how I feel about these bull^$(% update cars. Also I get the sense from not just this forum but many others that I am no the only one upset about there choice of cars. Yes, every road car has a right to be raced.......

If you're going to diss certain aspects of the game, you can't just pull random numbers out of thin air like that. It defeats the purpose of the point you're trying to make.

This'll be pretty funny if PD have pulled a sneaky and have added Red Bull Ring (Wet) in the update considering all this sudden anger

The rain is only playable with groupe b car ????

Pretty sure its playable with any car that can be equipped with Rain Tires (which as it turns out since release, has been effectively every race car in the game.)

How come this thread title still says the update brings rain? A cache issue?

Waiting for players to say the Clio is undriveable, when they find out it's MR, short wheelbase with no downforce. :sly:
With GTS current physics there’s a good chance that even that car will understeer :D
