Day 227. Oil change and car wash for the GT-ONE race car.
Enter the Professional Gran Turismo All Stars Championship.
A series ruined by inconsistant R390 LM. Blindingly quick but has problems staying on the track at a couple of places.
Race 1 : Laguna Seca. 15 laps.
I use T2 tires and stage 1 turbo with 735 hp. The R390 screams away to a fast start on its softer compoound tires. After a 2 laps my tires come up to temp and I can start chasing. I am about to catch the R390 on lap 9 when it has the bigest lose possible at turn 2. I scrape pass and into the lead while the R390 fishtails back and forth accross the track. The R390 spins again on the Corkscrew and losses more than 30 seconds on that lap. Last six laps are a cruise to the finish.

Race 2 Deep Forest. 15 laps T2 tires and 735 hp.
Even on T2 blue tires I can stay with the AI at this track for the first two laps. When they go green (tires) I pull away for a 50 second win.

The R390 runs away into the distance and sets a fast pace right from the start. Evan the extra 100 horses I have dont make much difference. Mental note to myself to ask my crew to check what size turbo the R390 is running. Once again I can start pulling about 1 second a lap back of him after lap 3 when my tires get up to temp. Lap nine I glimpse the back of the R390 and pass him as he pits at the end of that lap. I have about a 20 second lead which drops to 15 by the end of the race.

Race 4. Test Track. 15 laps. T2 tires and stage 2 turbo. Crew chief reckons the 2 fast AI are running stage 3 turbos.
Controller failure ment I had to re-run race after reloading from the back up memory card.
I qualify 2nd for this race. With the speed difference( me 371 kmh and the R390 about 390 kmh) drafting is essential.
The good news is the R390 pits twice on end lap 7 and end lap 14.
I pick up a draft from second place AI GT-ONE for the first 5 laps running about 395-400 kmh and still am 9 seconds down on first place R390. Lap 6 is without draft as the GT-ONE pits and I drop another 6 seconds on the R390. I pass the R390 as he pits end lap 7 and hold the lead for a lap. I pick up the draft on the R390 as he passes lap 9 and I can draft up to 420 kmh for the next 5 laps until he pits on lap 14. I win by about 15 seconnds. My fastest lap was 8 seconds faster than the last lap when I had no draft.
FIT THE STAGE 3 TURBO for people who want easy win. The drafting is what the Test Track is all about and does not get tiring at all when the AI have better top speed.

Race 5. Apricot Hill. 15 laps. T2 tires and stage 2 turbo down to 798hp
I can keep pace with the lead while tires are cold and take the lead on lap 4 on green tires. I can not match straight line speed of the R390 or GT-ONE AI but they corner like crap at this track. Pull away for a 30 second win.

Race 6. Rome 15 laps. T2 tires 798 hp.
The R390 is real quick here and only pits once. I pass him at end of lap 8 as he pulls into the pits. 9 second win.

Race 7. Seattle Reverse. 15 laps. Crew cheif advices that take is greasy and should run T5 tires and pit once. I concur and run qualifying to test out speed and grip on T5's. I qualify 1st with a poor run at 1'25.543. We are using the biggest turbo we have , the stage 2 with only 798 hp.
I am now 2 seconds a lap quicker and win by 30 seconds even with my pit stop.

Race 8. SS R11 Reverse 15 laps. Crew chief concerned about durability of T5 at this longer race and decide to run the T2's. Note to team sponsor, buy some T3 for SS R11 reverse. Stage 2 turbo .
The AI R390 runs way out front by about 20 seconds after lap 5. I get blocked badly by the other GT-ONE in these laps which cost me lots of time. I finnally get some grip from the hard T2's and pass the pesky GT-ONE and start pully a few seconds a lap of the gap. I am almost caught up when the R390 pits about lap 9.
I get a 20 second lead which drops back to 14 seconds as my fronts start to go off. The R390 was running some very quick laps here.

How bad are the AI here. The R390 and GT-ONE kill me up the straight but at every second corner on every lap they slide out wide and then slide all over the track getting back on. Lap the field.

Race 10. Tokyo R246. 15 laps. I use T2 tires and wishing for a bigger turbo.
The R390 is again very fast and drives this track very well. His soft tires require him to pit twice, 2nd time on end lap 14, which kills a otherwise close race.
I got the lead on end lap 7 when the R390 pitted and kept it untill lap 13 when the R390 passed me on the start finish straight. I retook the lead on lap 14 as his 2nd set of tires went off. Lead all the way to the end and backed off on lap 15 as the front tires were going orange.
