Fran, i am sorry, but until your connection is faster you cant join on race day, with full rooms your connection speed causes bad lag.

I'M still in awe about the race I gave today. To the top two finishers, nice run you two. If it wasn't for lozza and jon pulling me along with the first few laps with their draft, I wouldn't have gone to a podium. Logic and SkengD, it was a fun race against you two, I've never been ahead of you both and to finish top three. I was sweating it the last few laps as jon was closing fast. I have such smile on my face that hasn't left yet. Now for the dreaded Brands Hatch rain race, ohhhhh shat! lol

Yes Tnt you were very very fast here and you did a great job to keep with them, we may need to bring in some dope tests lol. And oddly just before the start you messaged you had name tags turned off, and i warned you to be careful not to block when being lapped, i feel a bit silly lol.

For me it was another " i cant understand how i didn't finish higher " having the whole race running 2 stops on RM at 30 minute stints at 1.53 and 1 54 i just was sure at the end i would close up on everyone who were at the end of there RS tyre life.

But after the race in chat with Erazer, he has helped me see a little more in depth about the tyres.

In my mind, although never tested, i had aways felt that RM tyres, around 1 sec per lap slower than RS tyres would be a better way for a long race.
As the RS tyres wear down to 3, then the RM still at 5 would give a faster laptime.

Always my guestimate is that for instance at Grand Valley.

RM i could run 30 minutes at a 1 .53 going to 1.54 over the last 5 minutes as they wear down to 4 at the stint end.

I always assumed RS could run 20 Minutes starting at 1 .52 going to 1 .53 and 1 .54 1.55 near the end.

However it does seem that RS on 3 are still faster than RM on 8

This is for sure something i need to address, as of course alien driving styles may better suit a loose car when you get RS down to 3 and 2 , where as i like everything in line and tidy, and never really feel happy with a car that is loose, as i always feel i am wearing the tyres faster.

We spoke after the race and agreed that having numbers on the tyres showing the wear probably is not a great help as it convinces you the tyres are finished before they really are.

Anyway its an interesting thing, and i guess i need to work on a strategy with more stops and a faster pace for the future.

Anyway i really enjoyed the race, and i get a good feeling when i dont make any mistakes at all.

Thankyou Fran, it was tremendous fun while it lasted, was under immense pressure lol, coped well to begin with, but i am not used to enduro racing with tyre wear and as such i kept pushing as tyres wore which led to inevtiable mistakes, touched the same kerb exiting the flat out s's down into the right hander 3 times in a row causing me to spin and the frustration just took over, all part of gaining experience but it was great to lead the guys, and looking forward to improving, which with racing with you guys plus all the helpful tips from Stephen and the rest will ensure i am up to speed in no time, i also am going to investigate brake pedal mod as i feel this might give me another leg up.
