GT4 Bugs

HAHAHA, look what i found on an AI car racing in one of the American series races. This is really strange. It seems either he set the camber to the max, or his rear suspention is totally broken. Yet the car race perfectly fine and finished in third in the race.

I noticed this. I was going to say myself. The rear tyres are REALLY at an angle.

Here's a possible glitch that I've come across and haven't seen mentioned before. Okay, so in the license tests, I've tried saving my replay videos, and everything seems cool... at first. While I'm still at the license test screen, I select "Load Best Lap Replay," and it takes me to the menu where you can choose the replay video to play by pressing X. I do this, and the screen switches to the loading screen, then flashes, then returns to the initial license test screen. :odd: It's as if it just skips over the playing of the video. I've tried this on several occasions of saving license test replay videos, and everytime I try to play them from within the test's menu screen, it fails to work. However, if I go to Replay Theater, it plays just fine.

Anyone have this problem? I have the North American version. I hope this is just a standard glitch across the board, because I lost my receipt for my GT4, so I can't get a new one.

I wouldn't say it's a bug, but when I was just listening to the music before starting a race at Seattle Circuit in Arcade Mode, the video would show the crowd across from that Safeco Field (I'm sorry, I don't know about Seattle too well), and the little camera flashes are all on, like they're flashlights instead of cameras.

Just a small oddity I seen. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to enjoy the Australian roar of the FPV F6 Typhoon. You Australians should get a pat on the back for making a cool car.

Yeah, but why can't Ford make really cool cars in the U.S? I mean, the new GT is cool, and the Mustang is a vast improvement. But where's our Focus RS or our SVT Mondeo? It's automotive injustice!

I dont know if anyone has mentioned this but it is possible to pass cars on a rolling start before the race starts. I did it with a NSX in the Type R race.

1 hour ago I was trying to win the Japanese event with a standart NSX type R. No ASM and TCM, won every race untill Suzuka, lol. Went of track twice and decided to stop the race after 2.5 laps.
I think this is a huge bug, I got the message that I won the championship, got 35,000 cr and the Nissan Z350 race car.
Nice PD 👍.

Why would that be a bug? You'd won enough points up until the last race to win the series. That happens in real life as well. 👍

Oh, I thought it was a bug. I was wandering why all the points!!! I didn't finish that championschip and still won and got the 35,000 cr. Shows how much I now about GT4, stupid me :dopey:

Don't worry Reyngel, that's standard functionalty as far as I know. What you're basically doing with Load Replay when in the Licence section is loading a ghost that will run with you when you take the test. The replays are only watchable as 'movies' in Replay Theatre.

Of course, this is based on previous incarnations of GT so I can't say for sure.

Sukerkin is, of course, correct.

Couple of things I've noticed. "Acceleration"is spelled with three Cs in the blurb accompanying one licence, the 206 S16 on Coffee Break 2 is described as the Opel Speedster Turbo and the Clio V6 on the S-licence at Opera Paris is described as "a race car" (a remnant from NTSC/J, no doubt, where you run in a Pescarolo C60...)

One really annoying BUG:

You can try it for example in driving park, gymkhana.
First accelerate first gear to the max, don't change to second, just keep pressing it. Then turn either way and keep turning, now you should be able to release the accelerator and it stays on full until you crash, press brake etc. !!!

Very annoying in races when you need to slow down just a little bit by releasing the accelerator and the car just keeps pushing on.

PS: I have PAL version of the game, not sure if it happens in other versions.

may be ur x button is not as smooth as it should be? (ie stuck on down mode?)
just a wild guess as i haven't got into that problem...

I just did the New York Endurance race with a Mercedes CLK-GTR. For this you have to change to sports tyres. It means your breaking point has to be much earlier than having racing tyres on. I changed to B-spec and the AI driver hit the wall on the backstraight (after the first hairpin). He hit the brakes at about the point where you would brake with racing tyres. Also the other AI cars slammed into the wall.
So as long as any company developping racing games cant fix the problem of the AI hitting each other there will never be an appropriate damage model.

Also before starting the George V Special condition races your car hits the wall of the last corner.

In the Speedster cup the AI cars keep missing the last corner at Autumn ring backwards.

I thought my copy was bug free but last night I found the first bug (and hopefully the last). In arcade mode, the VW Golf V GTI doesn't have 5th gear. It reaches 4th, then when shifting to fifth, the number on the dial changes but the revs continue as if I was in 4th. So as the sound of the engine. However, I can shift to 6th (does this car have 6 gears in r/l?) with no problem. But without 5th, you don't really want to shift to 6th...

Weird

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Same to me mate ;)

Maybe it's a Portuguese Version Bug?.. (kiding) ;)

It is a bit bad, because if we have to reduce the gearbox, it make confusion reduicing from 6´to 4´...

BIG BUG!! for sure

I think it can't be that, cos I have 4 days old Driving force pro. :)

Just tried the One Lap Magic, Subarus old and new.

I hit the line at +0.00.011s (annoying, yes). Then something bizarre happened. The quick results page showed up with me second at... +1197.02:02.297

One thousand, one hundred and ninety seven HOURS back.

I can only guess that, since my opponent was a Subaru 360 and I hit the line travelling 4 times faster than him, that although the front of my car hit the line after him, the back crossed before his did, and screwed everything up.

The Jitters!! Somebody please make it stop!! I'm about to lose my mind!
GT4, it's too jittery....it won't stop......must seek help.....

The word, Forza, keeps echoing in my mind.... Telling me, "Relax, the jitters will end May 3..."

I just had my pal ps2 crash/freeze, it happened the instant I entered the pits on suzuka after a few laps of practice on the last race of the Japan championship. :(

Not happy jan!

I'm going to quote myself, I just posted this in another thread. I consider it a bug that I apparently can't control how much fuel goes into my car, unless I am missing something...

"I am SO ******* PISSED right now!!!!!!!!!!

I just did the 150 miles on super speedway with my Jaguar lemans car. I was winning with over 1/2 a lap over the Nissan R92CP.

I first pitted at lap 34, then lap 68, so that the last leg of the race my tires wouldn't be as worn.

Well I'm on lap 100/100 and all of a sudden the car ******* BRAKES to 50mph and stays there. I look at my fuel and it is empty. That is mathematically impossible and completely unrealistic.

Then I remember when I pitted on lap 68 that when the tires were all on, it stopped putting fuel in and it let out at about 74/80, I didn't even think twice because I didn't think it would matter and I forgot about it.

WHY did it do that? I know it happens in real races but son of a ***** the game should have an option for me to let all the fuel go in......I never saw one! If there is one can anybody show me how to put all the fuel in?

Even if we negate the idiocy of the absence of letting me control the amount of fuel that goes into my car, the way the car ran out of gas was EXTREMALY unrealistic for 'the real driving simulator.' I still would have WON if the car coasted from 200mph to zero like it SHOULD HAVE - INSTEAD - it freaking put on the brakes! Why? That is the single worst aspect of this game."

It's your mistake man, when your in the pits if you press the X button it cancels the pit stop. So you obviously pressed X when your tank was on 74. However the pit crew continue to put the tires on but no more fuel goes in if you press teh X button.

Get the PAL/Europe version. Jitterless (except for momentary flashes when the PS2 is really stressed).

I've tested out all but one of the biggest culprits for jitteriness in the NTSC/J version on the PAL version - last car of six at Monaco on a rolling start, same at the Ring, Grand Canyon final.hairpins, SSR5 rolling start - and none have appeared. There was a fractional one at the end of the Swiss Alps/Pug T16 licence test when the camera panned across the front of the car while my mechanics applauded me, but you won't see it unless you're looking for it.

As Mr. Eastley pointed out, you ARE missing something - and that thing would appear to be the game manual.

When you're jacked up, a bar appears at the top of the screen, indicating your current fuel level (##/80). This then fills until it's full, or you press "X".

Together I think we explained what he did wrong. I never noticed the same thing until I accidently done it myself. But I learnt from my mistakes.

Thanks guys.

I usually hold the x when I'm in the pit stops, just a bad habit I suppose that I'll have to stop haha.

However, the way PD modeled running out of fuel is still unrealistic to me.

Maybe unrealistic... but it could be worse : Imagine 24h Nürburgring ... A-spec....
you've driven over 23 hours and somewhere at the Karussell you run out of fuel : If it would be realistic, the car would roll out slowly and that's it ! 23 hours racing for nothing....

Well after 3 hours of driving the 24 hours of le sarthe, I have noticed that the right side of my CLK GTR's tailights seem to have an area that seems to be dead....Looks like my car has a dead tailight....

I had the same problem as you have. I was at the 8th lap of the Circuit de la Sarthe II 24hr endurance race and all of a sudden my car slowed down to 50 MPH and won't go any further. I thought it was some kind of weird bug my game had.

Man, GT4 really needs to have its bugs fixed :grumpy:

I remember on gt2 wen i would do hot laps around the laguna seca and afterwards i would watch the replays and the whole replay would show me ramming into a wall, then just the next 2mins of this escudo rammin this wall. arrrrrrrrrrrgggggh it makes me so angry!!!!
