Hey sorry you don't know what you're talking about, all A-class MB are FF and besides, they have a lot of 4WD as well, you can get almost every Benz as 4matic not even talking about the G-class...

i don't know if this is a bug or not but i need to get a little help
i need to try and see if there is a way to turn off the pit stop menu that takes you from going three times the speed to live view??? anyone?
especially when in endurance races

Well, i read a post about 5 before me and noticed someone else had an empty garage. :ouch:

At 27.5% after saving my game to take a break...I returned to find my entire garage was empty except for the ford lightning i was driving!!! I was a little sick. I only lost a little over 50 cars, but still...

I had done it many many times before in GT4 so I cant think of anyhting else that was different....but the only thing I can think of was that i was saving it on 2 memory cards. I saved from the first one and then switched my other card to slot one and saved. It has a few pop-ups saying that its a different card and that it will over write your garage(but it wouold overwrite anyway with whatever new cars and stats you have....) I clicked to continue and then whn i came back...all gone.

I can't figure out why my first card save had an empty garage too though. Unless, i was being a little obsessive compulsive and saved the empty garage. All those same warnings had popped up the first 25 times or more i had saved to both cards, but everything was fine before. :guilty:

So just be careful is all i can offer when you guys save... I only copy from the system browser menu to my 2nd card now. :yuck:

btw, I am using a ntsc version ps2/gt4

from what i gathered, this empty garage bug seems to appear only when u use GT4 to save in different memory cards..... may be it's PD way of punishing u for trying to use the card swapping method... :P

anyone who didn't save on two cards have this problem?
my only suggestion would be use the PS2 browser screen to copy data...

So, what's with this "empty garage" deal? Like I do with GT3, I bought cars from a Gamepro disk that I had. I downloaded the save data on my other Memory Card that I normally use for games like "NCAA Football 2005." It's my backup card. I'm guessing that your problem may just be about saving data to the other Memory Card in the game.

That seems to be the most popular bug here.

If you change from memory card #1 to memory card #2 and try to save the game it will warn you that it will save it without your cars, you can hit "ok" or "cancel". Obviously if you hit "ok" it will save your game without the cars on memory card #2. I have no idea how you could lose the cars on memory card #1 without trying to. But just to be safe, when you want to copy a save game to another memory card, make sure you ONLY use the PS2 browser. do boi nam quan ao nam dep mu so sinh vay lien cong so vay lien cong so chup anh ky niem
DO NOT TRY TO SAVE TO MORE THEN 1 MEMORY CARD IN GAME.

It is not Bug. It is Syndrom. Syndrom for all those who are trying to override the SaveCheck function of GT4 data which often result with serious data-damage and corruption of the data.

The Empty Garage Syndrom will happen only if you try to mess around with the memory cards in game. Using different saves and then overwriting them could make a decent mess on you saves, as well as freeze the game or corrupt the memory card.

Do not save on any other card you're using for the game itself, and always copy (backup) your data trough PS2's internal Browser. It is the only cure for the Syndrom.

So in one way, you still keep your current game status. In another, you have a clean garage. The only car you'll have in your garage is you in your street clothes. Probably in your wife beaters and your jeans if you're a guy, then maybe a slinky top, cute shorts, and flip-flop sandals if you're a girl. So in one way, I buy that advice on not saving to a different Memory Card in the game. I'm usually VERY careful not to save to another Memory Card and overwrite my old data with new data. That's why I try not to have my GT3 file on my secondary Memory Card overwrite the 83% completion I'm running on it.

I wonder what PD considers cheating if you can't really test your cars without more than one Memory Card. And if the dialogue says "you will save your game with an empty garage," don't you know then and there that you'll have an empty garage? I wouldn't take my chances. Only chances I'd take would be daring moves to try to improve my position, because after all, I'm an aggressive person in GT games. If I'm not leading, I'm not happy. If I don't win, I'll have to retrace my steps and try again.

If you start a game with memory card 1 then insert memory card 2 and try to save you get pop up #1 that says
“A different memory card (PS2) has been inserted. Insert a memory card containing the correct game data into MEMORY CARD slot 1. Do you wish to retry? (Cancel) (OK)”
Hit OK and you get the same pop up again.
Hit Cancel and you get pop up #2 that says
“Do you wish to delete the existing game data and create new game data? Creating new game data will cause the existing garage data to be deleted. (Cancel Save) (Create Data)”
do boi cao cap quan ao nam chan goi so sinh cho be vay cong so nu vay cong so nu chup anh da ngoai dep nhat
Try to get into a different car and you get pop up #1. Hit OK and you get pop up #1 again. Hit Cancel and you do not get a pop up, it does not save and you stay in the car that you were in. I see no way to screw up if you actually read what it tells you.

I am trying to qutoe the previous post...so if it didn't work you can give me 20 lashes with a wet noodle.

Anyway, I read all the warnings and messages. I knew what they said, and accepted all of them. I had done it since i had started the game and I was over 25% For some reason it emptied my garage. I have no idea why it emptied it this time and not the other many times I saved.

SOmebody had asked if my cards were full... nope not even close. one i only save GT data on one...residual from GT3 and a couple replays. the other i have a socom setup and gt4. I keep all my other data on a third.

Someone else 10-20 posts ago had mentioned about saving on 2 cards and it corrupting data.... come to think of it, like the second day i played my data on card 1 was corrupted. I just copied from 2 to correct it. that time the 2 saves did exactly what they are supposed to. 👍

Again someone else had posted on like page 2 about what to do if you garage is emptied...can't get some cars, not enough money to buy others...As for the money problem, run the german touring car champ to make money. it works out to like almost 800k every 20 min if you b-spec it on x3. I figured with 5 hours of actual attention you can get the 9 mil you need for day 694.

sorry for the long post, had alot to say :scared:

Maybe it doesn’t delete your garage if you don’t have any special cars or cars with no value. Maybe you got lucky. Who knows? Who cares? You are lucky it didn’t wait until you got to 90% to delete your garage.

Both of my cards are almost full and I don’t think it has any effect.

Corrupted data seems like a big warning sign to me. No, it did not do what it was supposed to do, it is supposed to delete your garage like it tells you it’s going to. You got lucky for one reason or another.

Don't think I'm defending autosave, because I hate it more then most people here, it's just that when it tells you it's going to do something, you shouldn't be too surprised when it does. This discussion should probably be in the thread that is dedicated to autosave, as autosave (like it or not) was a choice not a bug.

I still can’t figure out any way you could end up with no cars on both memory cards.

WTF is goin on with GT4 im really dissapointed with all the bugs, but what I cant stand is the replay bug I have. If I make a solo race like a time trail or a practice in GT mode the replay works great, i can see what i did with no trouble at all, BUTTTTTTTTT when I race against another cars, the replay reallyyyyyyyyyyyy sucksssss, the car starts doing this crazy stuff I didnt make, starts hitting walls, stops completely, starts loosing control and running through the grass or dirt, and it doesnt show anything I just made during the race, whats going onnnn!!!! its really sad to have this kind of bugs in a so anticipated game, im really pissed off, I also have the NTSC/J GT4 and it doesnt have the replay bug, also in the NA GT when racing in 2 player battle the shakiness in the screen really makes your friends go away :yuck: 👎 dammit!!!! the stupid system doesnt make a perfect couple with GT4....

Who else have this bugs??

I'm having a problem where the game won't load into races or anything like that. I have the old, big PS2. GT4 will load up and play fine, I can buy cars, add parts, buy rims etc... but if I take a car, go to race it, it will hang on the spinning tach that shows it's loading. Goes from white, changes to red, and just freezes. I have to tilt my PS2 and it will change to white, and load finally. Sometimes it won't though. It's like it's not reading the disc or something. But, any other game I put in the PS2, plays, and loads just fine. GT4 though just hangs on the spinning tach loading screen.

What gives with this? I know others have had this problem. Is it a bad disc, or is my PS2 just not able to read the newer disc?

First time post for me, but I had to say that I am having the same problem. I know my PS2 is clean and so it cant be it. Wheelow, have you gotten anything on this yet. I spoke to a friend who is a manager at a game crazy here in Oregon and he said that "Nobody has had that happen that I have herd of at all" he wnt on to suggest that I may have just gotten a bad disc. I doubted it till I read this post. It is possible that we did.He also said to try in in another PS2 and see if it works. The two other ones did not work either. In fact one would not read and gave me the dreaded Please put a Playstation formated disk in" and the other hung up even worse than mine. I will be replacing my GT4 and will post if it works.

i wonder if its the PS2 thats doing this. Not the new thin one or the 2nd version without the I-link ports, but the very first one. And whats with a bad disk, do so many people get them??? how often is a bad disk encountered, i wonder if anyone knows.

What the hell are you talking about?

Wait, don't tell me you think B-spec mode is Replay Mode. That is the only explanation that matches what you just said.

Not sure if this has been mentioned,
but ive been playing the australian version for a day or two now ( 👍 )

And i havent witnessed any bugs at all,
not even the "screen shake" i witnessed in prologue

cheers

I have the same problem as you guys. ( not loading up in races, white loading turning red, skipping intro etc.) Funny thing is my GT4 worked perfectly from the day I buyed it ( exept for the jitters thingy) . I mean it's probably the PS2 that is doing this as my disc worked perfectly until then... Anyway I'm gonna have my copy exchange for a new one tomorrow and I'll see. If it is te PS2 ( model 39000) then it would freak me out. I mean all my other games like GT3, MGS 2-3 etc are working...

do you guys have any idea what might be causing this?.

My game seems to have lost the analog audio on it. I use the digi output at my house, but take it somewhere else and I can't get any audio, but it used too. Don't know if this is going to lead to all audio eventually not working. Anyone else experience anything like this?

has this happened to anyone else?

i saved the game, then turned off the console. left the room for about an hour.

when i came back to play the game, it says the "GT4 data is corrupt" and it will not load. it wants me to start from scratch again, which sucks as i was 30% complete.

does anyone know if there is a way to get the data back? i doubt there is, but its always worth a shot.

thanks,
Brent

yea......tha replays for some reason report freaky horsepower......(in one case it reported it wayyyyy higher! said i had 1400 hp in cadillac Cien wen rlly i had bout 900...)

By tha way, iz it even possible 2 pass 1000 hp? closest i've gotten iz tha Dodge Viper GTS 99 wit 950 hp

Anyone found any bugs in the UK version then? I know its only been out 2 days, but i'm sure there are peeps hammering it! My housemates have taken my PS2 so i'll actually do some work instead of playing on it!!

Picked up an Australian version of GT4 yesterday, it is awesome, however i've picked up a what seems to be a small glitch. The kw rating of cars in showrooms etc. changes once bought and viewed in the garage.

First i purchased an '89 Skyline GTS with 150 odd kw and once in the garage, was showing approx 195kw.

I then purchased an SS Commodore which come with 245 kw and without mods, was showing 333 kw in the garage.

All i can think is that in the garage, the power is being displayed in ps or hp while indicating a kw rating.

Has anyone else noticed this?

the power difference has been said many many times as they're mainly due to difference between power rate by the manufacturer and the actual value the engine produces.. and then there's the replay power which is more like the actual power your wheels are getting...
