GT4 Bugs

... I am NOT a gamer..

ok, enough - that did it for me. sell the games, sell your PS2, and delete all your IE favorites that point to any gaming sites (including this one).

thanks :)

I don't think I have found any bugs yet in my GT4. What are these jitters that everyone speaks of? I don't get any jitters at anytime when playing.

Has anyone had complete loss of control as in no throttle, brakes, & steering as if the controller had been unplugged then plugged back in? This has happened to me on quite a few times.

You could have read through the thread. It's been discussed.

Anywho, it's when the screen shakes, jumps, quibbles, jitters, or whatever the heck you choose to call it, at the beginning or sometimes during the race. Seems to be a coding issue with at least the entire NSTC release. It's just a down right annoying little glitch that can be overlooked but none the less shouldn't be with all the time they had to wrok on this game.

traction conrol is probly the factor there, i usaly have mine set on 1 with 500h or more cars....

and spawn, theese jitters moslty happen at the opening clip and the first 5seconds of the race, i think theres 2much stuff happening at one time

i bought the trial celica ss II
its the biggest POS for 100K
its price does not justify its performance
anyways i can't adjust the downforce for this car
the default wing doesn't allow it
when i try to put on a wing it won't allow me to do so either
so WTF?
its cosmetic only?

Dunno if it's been mentioned, but it says '95 Eclipse GT when the only models out for '95 were the GS, RS, GST, and GSX. Even if they meant the GST, it's only 200 - 210hp, not 230.

Wow, Mooby... nice sound off there. After playing GT4 one week ago at an EB store, only real "bug" I've seen were jitters. I wasn't acting like "I can't live with this," like I was going to have a heart attack and die. From what I've played, I haven't experienced any bugs. Of course, I have yet to own and play GT4 to actually know of any bugs.

All I'm trying to state is that GT4 is a good game. Like many of us stated, when the game actually comes out, people will forget about the delays and just play the game. Don't like it? Sell it. Like it? Good. I could deal with many of the issues faced with this game (no online, no cosmetic and/or physical damage), but look at what you DO get. I'm playing through GT3's Arcade Mode, trying to finish what I started. And since playing GT4, GT3 seemed pretty dull. I think the ultimate excitement has to be in A-Spec racing, as you enter your in-car view. You can't tell me that you don't feel like you're actually racing the car instead of controlling a DS2 or a DFP or something. The car dips down as you are done speedfreaking down the backstretch. When you ram into a wall, you feel and see the impact. I remember throwing away an entire race by not driving well enough on the backstrectch of Clubman Stage Route 5. I slapped the wall like a pinball, and dropped from 3rd all the way to 5th. In-car is easily the most exciting thing, at least in my view.

Regardless, I didn't complain, so don't think I've been hating on GT4. We cool, Mooby. Alright?

*I searched for this topic and didnt find anything, but if you know of a thread where this is talked about, can you please point me there and have a mod close this. Thanx

I dont remember or even know for that matter if GT1, GT2 and GT3 ever had bugs....but is it possable that GT4 might have some? Its obvious that most people wont know since they havent played it, but has anyone heard of anything? just curious...I do remember when GT2 came out it had a bug or something that you couldnt get 100% (I think thats what it was..) anywho, so has anyone heard of anything or seen anything?

Twitching. My copy of GT4 does a lot of video twitching before starting a race and occasionally during the race. At first I thought it was the video connector so I upgraded to an S-Video but that wasn't it. As I was about ready to take it back and exchange it, I went to a friend of mine's place and his copy twitched as well. If anybody knows anything about the annoying twitching the game does, let me know. Thanks.

nobody knows why the game is jittering, no one has found a solution yet.. er.. actually, someone said that if your TV has interlacing, then turn it on.. or off, cant remember.. and he said it fixed it, but only a few tvs have that

anyways i found a bug (quite funny too lol)

in photodrive in the rally stages, if you go to say... the grand canyon, hit select right where a camera guy that ran off the track was, take a quick snap, go back, and the camera dude will be IN the car :D lol kinda funny.. i took a pic of a guy like at the door of my subaru :P

Twitching is by what I've heard the fram rate, something like it can't handle it.

This is common knowledge, I am sure. It is just an annoyance more than anything, but The Home Garage can be uploaded for two-player races, yet is unavailable for 1 player. Also, two-player has a lack of assistances. Very annoying when using a Turbo Chapparal 2D with 1040 hp. Mega lag for 60mph, burnouts for the remaining 37 in 1st gear, but the boost is incredible! :D

The Mazdaspeed 6 apparently has no drivetrain. I read in a magazine that it was 4wd, but you can't race it in the 4WD. You can't race it in FF, FR or MR for that matter. I tried to make the wheels spin and watch the replay to see which ones were spinning but they didnt even squeak (it was stock though).

They completely left out the biographies of the cars in the game. What's the point of having 700 unique makes and models if you have no idea what differentiates them? That kind of takes away the appreciation for the vehicles. Not much of a bug, but more of a complaint.

Jitters

Incorrect data and years on many of the cars detracts from the game from a collector and enthusiast standpoint. '91 FD3S? '85 FC3S? '83 AE86? '02 DeLorean???
Japanese specifications on cars classified as 'American model' (ie: Lexus SC300 model with 276hp I6 Turbo)

I can understand some of the bugs like the jitters since the game had to be pushed out the door to appease fans... but simple typographical errors and incorrect data sheets on the cars are usually the first things to be proofed and corrected-- they are relatively minor and fairly simple to fix and implement. What gives?

Maybe they assumed if your a real car enthusiast you would know or the assumed the majority wouldn't care, or they didn't have anymore space to add it(doubtful).

I too have the "jitters"

Another bug I've noticed is that if you pit at the same time as another car on El Capitan, the other car disappears. I haven't tried this anywhere else so I'm not sure if it's game wide or not.

even then, i think most car enthusiasts would be irked if they see their beloved car with bad data hehe. You're an RE guy, you had to have noticed it too :)

I think the lack of data hurts, because a lot of people dont understand why certain cars are in the game, and others arent.

Ie: Why the 1979 Honda Life step wagon is in the game and 98-02 Accord Coupe is not in there (answer: Honda Life was one of the first stepwagons that would set a trend...step wagons and wagons/vans are now one of the most popular cars in Japan today)

haha i noticed that too.. is it 1 wheel at a time drive?? i was too lazy to beef it up so i sold it after i couldnt race in any races

HAHAHHAHAHAHA your minolta is sinking :D

thats a common bug in just about all games lol thats HILARIOUS though what happened after that?? lol did it go flying or did it go underground :P

it drove normally, It flies to a 90 Degree almost as if its being gently lifted off the ground (its not violently lifted at any time) then after the tires are mounted (i wonder how the back tires are put on?) it slowly settles back down to normal position.

Less of a bug, more of a processor limitation, in the rearview mirror in Seoul (and I'm sure others) you don't see the background of what you just drove by, more a very hazy cityscape, it has a 360 degree cityscape but it doesn't reflect what is actually behind you background wise.

Regarding uploading the Garage for one player arcade mode, you can race all of the tracks withing GT Mode. There are different categories for each type of course (i.e world courses, city courses etc.) and it actually has more options such as track meets, photo shoots and the like. :)

BTW, the Buick Special is by far the most entertaining muscle car to drive. But where is my Plymouth GTX?!
