i dont know if this has been posted. on fuji speedway 80's their is a huge line or a missing banner or something that goes from the left side of the track to the right. its located before the big straight. i also saw the same thing on cote d'azur. i guess u can say its like a bunch of lines stacked up on each other

haven't tried it.... but is this in US version or Japanese/Chinese version?
i'm willing to bet that's the automatic transmission doing it work rite there..... some people complained about the SL having a full manual tranny in Japanese/Chinese version before.... may be they fixed it now....
the SL series should be all automatic even if you choose "manual".. as the manual option only allow you to select gear, but the transmission itself is still an automatic gear box.... hope i didn't confuse anyone...

I know! I just created the ultimate rant post, I hope it gets accepted, I had a bug that finally pushed me over the edge into returning the game tommorrow, The obvious bugs are starting to get rediculous.
How this game passed BETA Testing is unconcievable.
"Thats it, I cant take it anymore, I picked up the DFP, the game is frustrating to me on an unbelievable scale.
The "jitter" problem Drives me insain, Im getting a New HDTV tommorrow, Im HOPING that maybe in gods great name it somehow fixes or Lowers its Intensity.
But This evening, while Playing American Muscle Car Race, the sound started cutting in and out VERY VERY violently, I took out the optical cable, reconnected it, tried it on the TV it worked perfectly, But when switched back into GT4 the sound started cutting in and out VERY VERY violently, I've attempted messing with the volume and nothing.
it started becomming FAR more annoying the Higher the Cars (GT40 05') RPM was.
Another Issue is that when I hit A wall and corrected myself into going straight the Reverse Sign got messed up and didnt leave.
I dont know about anyone else but seriously to me, it feels like I got screwed, badly. I should have never set my Anticipation for this game so high, Im not here complaining about Cars, Domestic VS Import, Its the fact of Common Sence bugs that are increadibly Apparent to us all tommorrow Im taking back GT4 and My DFP in hopes that maybe we'll see a GT 1.5 or 1.1 or something, to me this isnt fun anymore.
I love the realism of the courses but on such Narrow Courses with an already Increadibly Cheap AI it becomes rediculous. When you hit A wall and 5 Cars come and spin you out on multiple times it starts to frustrate me increadiby.
This isnt a rant about "The worst game ever!" its about common sense Bugs and A Promised Increased AI.
I've already seen a post earlier about how someones car somehow started "floating" in the garage. guys this isnt 4 years of work, this is a game that pushed an already techologically bad system too far. "

oh no no no, at this rate they need to start on GT6 at LEAST to create a good game, if this "Masterpiece full of more bugs then Windows ME" took 4 or 5 years they need 10 to 15. It may even have to be carried on by the sons and daughters of PD.

I've packed up my DFP now its up to if I really want to take it back...
I love the DFP my god its one of the greatest things to come along in racing games in such a long long time.
But im going to speak the truth that Sadly im not going to play GT4 forever, I dont think i'll even play it next week, within 30 minutes I already had all the cars I wanted and didnt even have to get a I-B liscense...the DFP is almost a waste on this game. the only thing it shows is that it has an imense ammount of promise for future racing games.
My god the DFP is fun a heck but with a Cheap AI such as in GT4 there is no point to it, if you want to have a good race against a Computer and not blow it away then prepare to get bounced into circles multiple times in a matter of seconds.
the only good thing that game from GT4 was the DFP and that was out months ahead.

I liked laguna's Lighting in GT3 far more then GT4 because it made everything look so...nice? Im not fond of all the desert wasteland courses.

Oh, how about how you have to have a memory card in the console to be able to get into a different car (because it saves how many times you get into a car for some reason), say, if you bought a car without the memory card in, but want to get into it.
Also, how you CAN'T LOAD.
If I lose a race or buy some part but decide that I didn't want it, I have to reset the console and have it calibrate my wheel and everything, just to get back at my pre-screw-up save.

On replays, sometimes the background, and\or car seem blury, almost like you can see all the pixles, then it clears up instantly, also I see a line that is always right in front of the car and kinda follows the car???(very hard to notice...but i'm pickey) has anyone else experienced anything like this??

the blur is suppose to be the "out-of-focus" shot....yea PD kinda sucked on this one.... but u can turn it off in replay options... haven't notice the line though...

Actually, the blur is a TV interlacing problem, while the game is loading, it changes it's interlacing settings, and some TV's do not automotically adjust their interlacing settings, so you get a blur.
It's actually the lines of pixes taking turns being empty or filled.

I'm having a problem where the game won't load into races or anything like that. I have the old, big PS2. GT4 will load up and play fine, I can buy cars, add parts, buy rims etc... but if I take a car, go to race it, it will hang on the spinning tach that shows it's loading. Goes from white, changes to red, and just freezes. I have to tilt my PS2 and it will change to white, and load finally. Sometimes it won't though. It's like it's not reading the disc or something. But, any other game I put in the PS2, plays, and loads just fine. GT4 though just hangs on the spinning tach loading screen.
What gives with this? I know others have had this problem. Is it a bad disc, or is my PS2 just not able to read the newer disc?

Before a race, I've noticed the screen shake up. The same kind of happens in my copy of "NCAA Football 2005" when I go to select plays and there's rain. It slows up a little bit, but not unecessarily. I'm not complaining, of course. I just notice that.
Now this "can't load" deal, some like it, some don't. I think PD wants its gamers to be honest and play by the rules. As I said, I hate losing races and don't want a losing record. In many games, I don't like having losing records or have defeats against me. Like in Grand Theft Auto games, when I get killed or I kill myself, I reload the game. When I get busted by the police, I reload the game. I'm not jumping on PD for anything annoying, but until I've played the game for at least two weeks straight, I'll know what the feeling will be like.
The worst-case scenario with Autosave is that you have to make sure you don't accidentally rip the Memory Card out of the PS2 while saving, otherwise, you'll have to do it all over again. And when was the last time this happened to me? GTA: San Andreas. Over 84 hours of gameplay, and now I'm doing it all over again thanks to a faulty save file on my Memory Card.

When I buy the Rays model 021 wheels, obviously one side shows that damn brakes right through the spokes!! looks like the wheel was mounted first, then the disk and calipers....not a big deal but its sure annoying when viewing a replay.... 👎

I've got those rims on a couple skylines and 350z's, and don't have that glitch. It may just be that car.
BTW : Found out what the problem with my, no loading issue. I exchanged the game for one of the same, and the new one loads just fine, so I'm guessing it was just a bad disc.
Small thing I noticed... So far I've only seen it in the Missions (since that's what I just played last. So it might be in other parts as well). But sometimes after finishing the mission, you CAN'T press start to get through the end crap and move forward, get your prize money and move on... Then, sometimes you can't hit just the X button and HAVE to use the START button... Weird... Anyone else?
I tried posting this in another thread, but anyways here goes. All of my cars are gone except the F1 car that I was "in" and the car I won for a license. After I won the license car I went back to the garage I guess as a matter of habit and voila...no cars in the garage except these 2. That's about 40 cars gone, and some are not obtainable again. Status and cash is fine with no notes in the diary as to why all of my GT4 garage cars were "stolen". What to do now?

You CAN re-enter a race, and win cars back in GT4, the only cars you can not win back are the Prize Cars from the License tests, and the Mission Hall.
To win back another car, simply enter whatever race, and it'll ask to Clear or Don't Clear your data for that race, if you hit Don't Clear, your trophies will stay, and you'll go through the race and win only the money. Hit Clear, it'll pretend as though you never raced that race, and you'll win the money and the car back. I did a post on this called "[Don't Clear] [Clear]", check it out.

Yeah I'm still out the license cars I only had a handful (no big loss there), plus the Audi Nuvolari Quatro for getting 25%, plus I have to find a money tree to be able to buy all of those vehicles again and tune them, that is probably about another 10 million. On top of that I need to save for day 694. I think I am screwed, I guess I have to try to find a cheat code to unlock cars for a buck or something like that. Well I guess in the end it isn't that bad. The car that took the longest to get (PD F1) is still tucked in the garage.
There's a bug in changing memory cards, and saving from the "HOME" menu. It will ask you several questions, and then erase your garage.
To backup your game to another card ONLY use the PS2 Browser feature. It will not save your garage if you try it from the game menu.
