GT4 Bugs

In GT3 around the last corner of forward SSR5, it would also suffer the same "jitteriness."

In GT3, (recently, too) the Cobra @ Seattle II got planted into the first turn by the C5-R, and just got stuck, you know the deal. I knocked him loose the next lap, and he resumed chasing me (in an Esperante). I hit 155 mph and the Cobra was all over me. :odd: Even worse yet, I check his spedometer and it only read 135!! How in the......?

It's possible do 100% in chinese version?

I have heard something about a bug that, after an Audi cup, prevents you obtain a gold (you win the series but the gold not appears) and the percent related :grumpy:

Someone?

Has anyone been able to GET OUT OF TRACK in Gt4 yet? (like in GT2 and 3 : I remember motorsportsland and SS R 5, Seattle)

I really liked it in GT3, because you were able to look behind the scenes, you know things like"where do certain buildings end" etc and you get a whole new perspective of the track, if I think of the Nürburgring or the Tokyo track or Deep Forest, I'd really like to drive around outside these tracks....
Any freak out there ?

The Audi race shows no medals in the Japanese version but I was still able to get 100%.

I was hitting a few "gaps" at the 'Ring hard last night, but couldn't break out.

not sure if it's a bug.... or did someone mentioned it..
in the Opel Speedster race, no matter how i tune my car, it's still a 200 point race
i put in every mod possible and a R3 tires, still 200pts
yea the other cars are quite fast but my acceleration is still faster than them and can prob win them if i didn't spin out myself... (have to try again later... only tried the first race for now..)

How the hell do you turn off the "autosave" BS? I tried both options having to do with it in the options menu, but they seemed the same.

Game data automatically saves anytime you bought/sold a car. This really bugs me. Ho do you make it as it was before...YOU chose exactly when you want to save?

My GT4 copies are not even playing in my slim PS2, while all my other games still do. You guys should be so lucky to even experience these bugs.

Hopefully, the mods will post my new thread about this so we can see if there is a widespread problem concerning a "bad batch" of discs in Southern California.

Hiya! :D :embarrassed:  Meow! (='.'=)

I have encountered a SERIOUS problem...

It is likely that IF you have the PS2s, from the launch...your PS2 WILL NOT BE ABLE TO READ IT! It is like EverQuest: Champions of Norrath. That game had that problem. GT4 may also have it too. I have recently and desperately went out to buy the new flat PS2 and got it to work... :embarrassed:

But I have the new slim ps2, and the game still won't work. Do you mean that the game will only work with newer versions (non-launch) of the slim ps2? It is true that my slim ps2 was one of the first slim ps2's in the stores, but why would it make a difference? If so, then Sony is going to be hearing from me...

I've been talking with my friend McLaren'sAngel, and she was talking about having the newer PS2 to make GT4 work. I have the old one with the I-Link and the kind of loud cooling fan. My parents tried to get GT4 for me, but I'm not sure if I can play it. I don't have any modifications to the PS2, so I don't have anything to read games not in standard PS2 format here in the States. So I don't know if I'm going to be able to play Gran Turismo 4. I'm concerned myself.

Lady McLaren and I were talking online, and she was talking about having the newer PS2 to play GT4. I don't know if Sony will have to reconfigure the game disk to take advantage of the older PS2. Or, I don't know how they would do it.

I have a SCPH-30001. One of the big PS2s, it's not an extremely old one, but kinda middle of the line. I didn't have any problems playing San Andreas when it came out and lots of people were talking about how it wouldn't work with older PS2s.

I just posted a new topic, waiting to see if it gets approved. But if somebody ANYBODY with GT4, can please confirm this.. Purchase the mercedes benz SL500 R230 '02 and go to any test park (or whatever their called) track and after it stops the auto-start of the car, hit the brakes and come to a stop then let go out the brakes and dont do anything and let it idle...

It wont idle! There is a fixed %10 accelerator stick on it! The engine revs slightly and the car moves with its own power upto 10mph+ on a straight surface. You can even see a little tiny bar of blue in the accelerator bar. I tried two controllers and the DFP. it does it on all of them. No other cars do it that I have tried except the SL500. :-( somebody confirm??

San Andreas killed my ps2. And I was a non-believer of those stories. Guess I deserved it. Anyway, it's constant live streaming games that hurt the PS2 when played for long long hours. GT4 is not one of these, as it loads the track prior to racing. So it shouldn't have a time length for DREs liek San Andreas did to some people with the fat PS2s.

Okay. I checked my PS2 manual, and the copy I got back for Christmas 2001 is the SCPH-30001. I could play "GTA: San Andreas" beautifully with my console. There wasn't a game that I couldn't play. So let me talk about some deciding factors for me to play GT4:

* haven't installed anything to play an import game (I never imported ANY GAME)
* haven't had a problem playing any game on my unit unless it was scratched-up badly
* haven't had my PS2 modified

So in other words, I never imported any game (not even GT Concept, GT4 Prologue, or any non-American version of GT4). So I think I have a very good chance that I can play the game. But if I don't, you already know I'm going to sound off about it.

For now, carry on.

hey

i dunno if this is a bug but its anoyying as one.
i dunno why but its acting like if the console had no anti-aliasing at all
so at some points it gets all blurry, jiggy for one second and it leaves, but everytime i turn on the machine again, it does it more and more.

i dunno whats going on...this was the first copy the store sold.
prolly the ppl at sony hurried the thing so much its full of bugs now.

i dunno how to fix this, i hope it leaves somehow..or i'll have to go get another copy and thats just not good. (theres a really shortage of words since ppl find the sh** word offensive or wrong somehow.)

anyway, if someone has this problem with their new copies, plz tell me cuz then it might be a problem from the main game and that would mean, waiting for ppl to fix it and then have to replace the game.

I'm the only one who can't use the 350Z to do FR races?

I just spent +30 000$ on a nice silver 350Z and and I cant even use it to do the FR races in beginner hall. 👎

I have the Japanese version and tried to race the Cadillac Cien in the Supercar Festival in Professional Mode, but it wouldn't let me. Oddly enough, the car I had to race against in that race was the Cadillac Cien.

The ZR-1 has non ZR-1 wheels. Although not bugs but extremly annoying you can not turn off auto saves and you can not "load game", you have to reset your ps2. And you can not get in a new car without your memory card in the ps2.

This was odd for me too, but I figured it out: It was a "supercar" festival, meaning you have to race a normal car against supercars to get the rank of Supercar. One of the lines stated you needed to use a "normal" car.

Definitely not a bug, was meant like that.

Don't blast on me, but I think the Cien was more of a concept car than a supercar. Usually, concepts aren't supercars (that would defeat the purpose of the Chysler ME412 and Ford GT90). I refuse to race anything of Cadillac's unless it's the Northstar LMP, so I wouldn't try it. And with Autosave, I hate losing races. The only times I accept losses is if I actually lost to better competition. The last time I remember losing to better opposition was in GT3 with the European Championship race at Rome Circuit Reverse (or "Rome Circuit 2"). I was in a blue R34 Skyline and kust simply couldn't generate enough power and handling to beat the opposition. For my efforts, though, I won a car that lacks... basically nothing, the Gillet Vertigo from the country that brings us the Spa-Francorchamps circuit.

I don't like admit losing races unless I raced to my best ability and came up short. And as someone said in one of my old "Drifting and Other Motorsports" threads entitled "Losing,"

"Even monkeys fall from trees. -???

So if I have a tough time winning, I guess if I got beat, then I just got beat. Can't cry over spoiled milk.

there was one bug at gt3 a-spec at special stage route 11 whrn you near the finish line you see a building poppong up

Of course, Appie, you don't have to type "GT3 A-Spec." I mean, who remembers to call GT3 "GT3 A-Spec?" So, GT3 is fine. Just wanted you to know.

You mention GT3's Special Stage Route 11. I noticed a glitch on that track as well, but you have to be able to really spot it to know what I'm talking about. Okay. In the Turn 19 and Turn 20 complex, if you look to your right, you'll notice that where the 3D mapping shows the road and the wall around this sweeping turn, you'll note that the road and the wall don't meet. So you'll end up seeing parts of the background instead of the wall. As I stated, I don't know how to describe it, but I tried. If you raced SSR11 in GT3 before and noticed the final two turns, you'll know what I mean.
