Yeah man, Famine is right, Master Yoda is right. It's no glitch. It's just that you haven't beaten all the races in Beginnner and Pro Events. As said before, check each event. As in, click on the event, click OK on the requirement sheet, then be sure that you have all the (gold; bronze looks alot like gold to some people mostly due to the color settings on the TV) gold trophies in each slot. Championships are only in the Pro Events, such as in the Tuning Car Grand Prix, the World Classic Car Championship, etc.

Another mistake I've heard of people making is when they only do the series race. In this case, gold trophies will be shown for all the individual races if you win the series, but you will not have gotten the actual completion percentage for each race in the event.

HTH:tup:

eee.. i think this was already posted but what the hey!

on my fat ps2, i've been playing my gt4 for around a year and a half,
with plenty o' cars, gold medals, and etcetera.
then my gt4 starts showing the red loading sign as opposed to the
white sign ( :[[[[[ ) so. what did i do?
EVERYTHING: (well almost)

(as you can see, it has no 'white cog' so change the height of the laser thingy...)
yes, i know im a facken moron, but i didnt no any better.
to my luck, the ps2 wouldn't read discs, period. but it was the 2nd gen ps2,
so its old, the dreaded DRE was bound to happen soon anyways.

now, we have a NEW ps2, the slim one, and the same shieza still happens.
i see red, instead of white...
redru... err yeah..

i copied my data to a new memcard, and it still shows the red...

now im thinking it's either my data, or my disc...

:T

I remember reading about this earlier in the thread. I'm pretty sure it was Ermac who posted this - and a few people recommended that he get a new disc.

OK, just checking in. All of the right people have been added to the list, however im looking for more things in the "how to beat the coruption" part, so if you any sugestions, fire away and ill put them in the first post.

You missed me... :(

Poor PS2...

The red circle is not caused by corrupt data on the memory card, it's purely a problem reading info from the disc, so either the lazer needs cleaning, or the disc is scratched. Usually just opening then closing the drive when it appears fixes it tho. :)

See if you can try on a 3rd PS2. Try another copy of GT4 as well. You might need to get that one replaced before the warranty expires. Failing that, you need a new memory card.

my heart gose out to the ones who have had there data corrupted and lost there save file however this has not happened to me but reading throught this thread i have learnt a grave lesson today save save save backup and then save some more hopefully this will not happen to me and if it does i shall be prepared, once again i feel sorry for u guys who have lost there data

I don't really have a corupt save game, as it's till working. But i've lost all my cars except 2.
I still have 59% completion, the extreme hall is still unlocked etc. But i now i only have a 'camaro i-roc concept' and a zonda race car :/.
Not cool.

Happened again...even with my following the precautions...

Anyways, again I had a back up...however I've lost my precious 80 Gold achievement...(back to 13/64/3!)

Been working at it all day and have brought my B-Spec and A-Spec back to where they were...

You and other people on the list are now noted as "X2" or "X3" for how many times. So if this happened to you multiple times, go ahead and let me know...

EDIT:
put a picture in:

please add my name to the list :(

i knew i'd happened as soon as i turned off the ps2 as i exited a practice run.....

ah bugger!!!

ah well, as punishment, i'm going to go as far as possible without spending money, and i'm not using b-spec for anything but the 8,9, and 24hr races...

[i withhold the right to retract that last statement.....as i want to continue with the 'star in a reasonably priced car' and 'nurburgring in standard production car' trials] :(

lol, and once again...... oh bugger!!!!

You need to add a guy called "SandStorm" to the club - Old people will know what I'm on about :-)

I had my file corrupted. Not because of the sudden blackout that happened (I mean really close just before the autosave) but because of my accidentally pressing the restart button as it was saving. Gr! I hated myself for the whole day.

Mine got corrupted once, I almost cried because I had to start all over again. Then, in my new game when I finally caught up (up to about 40%), I lost my memory card, so now I have to start again. :ill:

Double trouble eh....?

I'm new here and have had it happen twice, towards the start but still annoying.Turned auto-save off wich helps and auto-save on and leaving a championship half done is a NO-NO!!!!

I have a question. Considering that this is a corrupt data club.

Can GT4 become corrupt if you save another game that takes up the max space left on your memory card? It seems all the times mine has gone corrupt is when the Memory card had less than 50kb left on it. Meaning, GT4 is already on the card, then I save another game, and go back to GT4 and save it, it crashes.

Also, who makes a bigger memory card than Sony's 8MB one? I am in dire need of a larger capacity memory card that wont break the bank.

this happened to my friend his data got curropt i think because his mem card was full? because he always saves himself and waits until it is done saving before turning his ps2 off

I am currently battling back from a chronic cause of Cranal Recticosis! I turned off my PS2 in the middle of saving at 91.9% complete! then after starting over, did it again at around 25%. Now here's the kicker-----I own a Max Drive and never backed up the system! I am the son of a computer engineer and have heard all my life about system crash and data loss and chose not to listen to dear-ole-dad, again. Oh well I am around 50% and fully supported by my Max Drive every 10% or so.:dopey:

Children rarely listen to the good advice given by elders. Most children (regardless of age) seem to need to experience themselves the bad things that can (and most likely will) happen.
E.g HDD crash or memcard corrupt. That's when in most cases the affected realise the advice was a good one and then take heed.
(it's called growing up)
Only diehards think it won't happen again and carry on without ever backing up. They're the ones that the scream 🤬 in e.g. this thread if it happens for a 2nd time or 3rd.
And then still don't do anything to resolve the matter 👎

Good to hear you taking your dad's advice and sticking to it. :)
(Did you thank him for it? he may appreciate it!)
If only more members followed suit...💡 (ahh wishful thinking).

Btw I just took your post as an example, nothing personal intended.

AMG.

Please don't say this! :nervous:

I recently got Tourist Trophy (which takes up 1500kb or so) and now I only have 11kb left! :nervous:

the solution is

Max drive or Action replay max ...

you can make copies of your GTDATA in your PC...
_(also about replay .. and other games)

I have now copies every step of 10% ..of progress in game!

Ciao

Add me to the list got about 38% and got corrupted for an unknown reason

i started again and am now up to 50.5%!

happend to me and my f@#%ing game too. i had a great mr2 that was the perfect rally car. but I think also switching ps2s has to deal with corrupted data to becuse I used a old ps2 then i switched to a slim ps2 and it wasent long till i had to restart:grumpy:

I use codebreaker to make frequent back ups. But, it is just something I noticed happening to me. :nervous:

Ok now I can be added for GT4 corruptness. I was playing GT4 in a thunderstorm :dunce: and the power went out after I forgot to turn off auto save and after buying an NSX for some Photomode Fun. Come back next morning, and my GT4 save with 49% complete is corrupted :(. I would've posted earlier, but I forgot about this thread.
