Just my idea... Maybe only allowing B-Spec in those races that are 200+ laps or 4+ hours? It really decreases the pleasure you get from driving, and when you think about it, when you drive, someone else isnt doing it for you, and you're not watching, choosing the speed of the car to go.

Another thing.. When you do B-spec is the race already done before you start? Seeming as there is the x3 fast-forward option. And if so, would that mean the game knows every race you're going to win and every one you're going to lose?

No, because you can manage how fast your B-Spec driver is going and when he pits...

When you start a race in B-spec, the game knows both what your five car competition is and what your B-spec car is. The game knows generally what lap times your five car AI competition will do on each lap, and the game knows how far each car can go between pit stops. The game also knows generally what lap times you B-spec car can run based upon its tuning, horsepower, tires, ballast, etc (you can change these items before the race, so you get a different race if you change these tuning options even if you used the same car and ran it against the same five car competition).

It makes no difference whether B-spec speed is times 3, or just normal pace since your B-spec car and the other five AI cars all have their general speeds pre-ordained at the start of the race once you enter. The game passes three times quicker on pace three, but all the cars behave in the same way they would at normal pace. There is a small amount of radomness built into this, so no two races would be identical, but they would be very similar if you changed nothing and your competition was identical.

During pit stops you can change your B-spec car so your lap times can change somewhat during a race (by changing tires and fuel load, or by how often you pit) but the AI times will not change during the race (except to the degree that their tires warm up during the race, and then turn orange and get worn out), unless you specifically interfere with the AI cars (like pushing them off the track or blocking them).

So, at the start of a B-spec race, the game has a good idea of the outcome if if you did not change anything and just let the game run, but since you can change a number of things, the outcome of any race will vary depending upon your specific input (even on short races where you don't pit the outcome can change since you can change the pace of your B-spec car from anywhere between 1 and 5, and choose whether to pass the AI cars or not).

Simpler: In sped-up mode, the game skips the rendering bit (it only shows a map), and so can calculate the race itself faster and skip rendering it.

I got a guestion about the used cars in PAL,
the Skyline R34 is in the used carlot in week 33 as a 10km special, does anybody know what colour it has?? i can't see becouse im at week 36 :(

The Complete Used Car Cycles list which you can download from the stickied threads in this forum says that it's Bayside Blue Metallic.

I've had the GT4-game since it was released, and one thing has been bugging me the whole time..
During the intro, there is a shot of two cars going up the hill at the Seattle-track. One of them is the Callaway, but what is the other?

I always thought it was a Viper SRT10, not a Callaway  I would guess that the other car is a BMW M5, judging by the rear.

An interesting point, though, is that I noticed the opening movies for PAL and NTSC are different in certain places. I never knew that...

Afraid not, two is the limit. If you want to do more it just has to be in arcade mode, where unfortunately it isn't your own cars you drive.

That 2-lap limit was a pretty brainless decision by GT4's designers. Races in real life are never - well, extremely rarely ever - *that* short. Three laps should have been the minimum you should be able to extend it to, although '2 to 12' would have been better.

With just two laps, you often have to drive like a madman on lap 1 to pass the field by the start of lap 2, and if you want to run on mostly realistic tyres (N2 for street cars), these warm up *way* too slowly (after thrashing them for a full lap they're still stone cold - not even lukewarm - yeah right), so that means you often have to drive on cold tyres for the whole race on virtual rubber which doesn't have that much grip in the first place. (Yep, sure, you could just slap on S2's but for regular non-racing cars that just doesn't match.)

Originally I thought the limit would've had something to do with limiting the amount of memory needed for replays, but since GT4 can replay longer races easily, my guess is they just didn't use their head on this one. I see no technical reason to make these Cup races too short.

I've got a really simple question but I'm thinking it might have been answered. If so can you please link me to the answer?

Anyways, here it is:

For the race at the Twin Motegi Super Speedway against the Formula GT car(s), what car do you use to win if you can only win the Formula GT by completing 100% of the game?

You're half right- the black Formula GT is won with 100% completion. However, you can also get it by winning Nurburgring 24 hours. Aside from that, I'm sure there are other cars that could win that race... not by much, though!

Most, if not all of the Group C/LM Race Cars can win the Motegi SS race against the Formula GT cars (with the right tuning). The FGT's are fast but shred their tires quickly. Try any of the following: Minolta Toyota 88CV, Sauber Mercedes C9, Mazda 787B, Bentley Speed 8, Audi R8, Peugeot 905 Race Car, either Pescarolo. Good luck.

BTW, the color of the Formula GT race car that you get from winning the 24 Nurburgring race varies each time you win.

I want the BMW 645Ci and M6!!!

:)

I hope they have a huge "airport" track where we can roam around in our cars in a HUGE area and stuff around. That would be fun:)

Wet weather for it would also be a must have option too.

no they dont but they do have something like that on NFS prostreet. laughing out loud. dont blame me i play alot of racing games

yeh that is true but why would you want to do it again. :nervous: this would frustrate the hell out of me doing the race twice

Quick question, is a time of around 1:02:xxx good on Tskuba ? (Sorry, not too sure on the spelling)

Oh, using a 99' WRX STI Impreza with around 500 horse.

thats a dam good time around Tskuba even for a 99 STI I got one and it only does it in about 1:07 about same horse power as well.:grumpy:

Do NOT triple post here please. 👎
Learn to use the "Edit" button and multiquote function, as I advised you in the profile message I left for you.
I'm merging the 3 posts above into 1, but don't expect us to keep doing this for you.

Search for "multiquote" and you should come up with some descriptions on how to use it.

Because the ring is "the 24 hour race" to run. I have seen (I'm sorry can not remember who, I'm sure some-one else will corect me) a member here who had completed it approx 30 times. Just to get all the colours of the FGT that is available.

If it were not for dedication like that, others would not know what is available.

GT4 Anyone Reached a Stage where 'you have WON all begginer events & proffessional events' in first Place?
Secondly, if you have ... great.. ive got first place in all events yet i am unable to get into the Last GT race in ' Professional events' (The 10 race event)

Is it possible that before i can get into that event i need to complete...any other events?? i.e american, european japanese etc

Before anyone replies.. 'Its A Good Idea to Enter Q's in the Search Box'

And thats where ive got the answer from ...could have got it sooner.

Well, some how the only explain is that ... even though you've won all races, you may not have entered yourself into 'The Championship' some races have a cash reward... and most likely as it is also displayed as a shield ....and the fact that it makes you enter all races ... probably somewhere you have missed one.

Anyone got any ideas how to find out 'Which ones has been misssed'💡?

If I understand your question, you think you have won all the races in the Beginner and Professional Halls, but the game doesn't think so?

As previously mentioned a number of times by others, sometimes its very hard to tell the bronze from the gold medal.:grumpy:

So one quick check is to check your garage or game diary and make sure that you've been awarded all the prize cars in each Beginner Series and in each Professional Series. And secondly, re-check the Tuning Car Grand Prix, the World Classic Car Series and the World Compact Car Series since these are Championship Series and a race might have been won for bronze instead of gold.

Absolutely correct, that could be a possibility. The other possibility, which i was lucky to spot... as you said ' world classic car series' i had a missing Cup in the the championship shield...hence i had no alternative but to do all the races again .. what a bugger...however i got 1st place in all ... And now Im into to enter the World Championship. Thankyou for help.

Sorry if this has been said before, but in the NTSC version of GT4 (Not sure if its also in the others but it probably is,) There are a few simulation mode menu songs that aren't listed as being in the soundtrack and aren't really available anywhere. One of these is a remix of Mr.4WD, which is the Subaru theme from the Japanese version of GT1. Why were these songs treated as if they didn't exist? They're really good >____< And I can't find them anywhere, I can only find their old non-remixed counterparts.
