hey how do i turn the music off when im racing? its annoying me now!

Have you ever thought of going into the music menu under options?💡
Thats common sense really.

If you don't even know where the options menu is look in the manual, your answer is there.

ok wow. yeah im a dumbass, i just didnt realize all the captions that came up when you looked at the sound menu! they were all just numbers to me, cheers anyway

was second all the way and for the race to the finish line, got ahead by 00.051. just wanted to share that

Nice of you to share, However a little bit more information would be better.

Examples:
What Race?
Which Track?
What car you used?
What Upgrades if any to car?
What was your competition?

I mean really, you could take a Formula Gran Turismo '04 to capri easy.
Sit behind the AI untill the last straight and blast by quite easily.

This game is all about getting what you work for. that's the reason why the endurance races are so long, but you get so much money and such a priceless car. but one thing you have to be wary of is the pit times on enduro races. if you know your car is prone to quick tire ware, get another. letting the game play itself is a good idea, but the b-spec mode will wait for about 4 seconds to determine if the options avalible are what you want. this and the 10-15 seconds it takes to actually change and fuel, that can make for a catastrophic situation. i attempted to do Fuji, 228 laps. things were going well. but then i let the game play itself. this was a bad idea. my R89C had to pit every 8-10 laps. it was a 1 point race, but after so many pit stops, the Mazda 787B ( which was really my only competition) lapped me by lap 200. i didn't have time to do the race in a-spec mode again, so i stopped it. the more turns, the faster your tires ware. that's why Nurburgring is such a challenge. all those tight turns mean your tires will wear to the point of no return by a lap and a half.

ever been through something like this?

^ I understand what you are saying and it used to be a source of frustration for me f B-Spec Bob likes to ignore the "artificial" barriers of the track, occasionally doing some agricultural work or perhaps tasting some Armco. This could be due to setting his setting to 4 (Fast) or 5 (Push). In addition, using a Stage 4 Turbo (as I would assume, given that it is a 1 point race).

If you haven't done this yet, set your toe angles all to zero, and reduce your camber (to zero in the back, no more than 2 in the front). Then run springs high at the front and medium stiffness at the back (ex. 13.0 front 8.0 rear). The main problem with toe is that you are dragging your tires along for the ride, and with camber you are using less of your tire on the straightaway and while braking, leading to more wheelspin under acceleration. With stiff springs in the front, you need less static camber because dynamic camber is less dynamic, if that makes sense to you. These sorts of settings will get you more traction (because wheelspin is your enemy). If this isn't enough, then I suggest running traction control on a low setting. Also make sure that on a bumpy course like Nurburgring that you should use low stabilizer rates especially in the rear to keep the other side of the car from loosing traction.

Regardless, your tires shouldn't be shot after a lap and a half at nurburgring. When I ran the 24 hours there in my R92C, it survived two laps easily, being able to survive until the end of the third. Some cars are tire-eaters and should be avoided; the Minolta with Stage 4 is a notorious example. The Mazda 787B and the Pescarolos are very good when it comes to tire wear.

Unless you are driving the Formula Gran Turismo '04 during the FGT Championship around "The Ring". Very notorius for 1 2/3 lap red tyres.

Yeah, too bad PD made their car unable to have anything other than R3 tires. I would love to see how much it would dominate with R2/R1 combo.

I have had Gt4 for a while but there is something i have never known, i have to memory cards and a saved game on each one ( one is mine and one is my little brothers) is there i quick way to switch from game to game without reseting my ps2? Thank-you:)

I'm pretty sure that GT4 will only "find" a game save on the memory card in slot 1. So I think you have to turn off your PS2, swap memory cars, and turn it back on to get to the other game save. But I don't know enough about PS2s to know whether you actually need to turn off the console to change memory cards.

You do need to change cards. If you have your card in, and then switch to your brother's and save it, it will screw up your garage. I tried something like that once, and it deleted all the cars I owned except for the one I was currently was driving. It wasn't a big deal for me because I had just come off of a corrupted save, and was trying a few things out before I got too far.

I would say "better safe than sorry", so turn of the PS2, then change cards over, then start up PS2 again.

Or get another PS2 for your brother. :)

Thanks for the catch Smallhorses 👍

No worries, I got visions of him swapping cars and removing the memory cards in mid-swap, which as we well know causes irretrievable data loss, and I didn't want anyone coming back to you with the accusation that you'd said it was OK to do this! :scared:

I'm with everyone else here, the only guaranteed way of keeping your precious GT4 data safe from corruption is to power off PS2 before switching the mem-cards.
For GT4 there is no "Load Game" function like there was in GT3.

It's a shame that we need two memory cards to get more than one of the one-time only cars  Specially when you like the cars stock, and just to see how would they handle if tuned, but you don't want to ruin them.

I've searched around, but prolly not hard enough. :P

What days will the black beauties be avaliable? :guilty:

I don't know why you could not find any threads/ posts about the black beauties, but nonetheless here we go: There are 700 days in one cycle, right? - They'll appear from day 694 to 700 in every single cycle..

Just to touch back on the MC issue guys.

1. No, you can't swap cards while in World View to change your garage around, it loads the garage up at start-up (that's why the white MC symbol comes up at the start of every load-up). ;)

2. Yes, you can swap the cards over while in World View without damaging the data on either card, it won't wipe it off but it's not advisable to do. ;) But like it says everytime you save the game, don't remove or reset while it's saving. Or for changing cars while in your garage.

I'm not sure if I've posted this in the right section, so forgive me if I'm not in the right place.

I need some help with anyone who's completed GT4. I've owned the game since it first came out, and I'm stuck at 50%. I simply can't get any farther. I don't have the time to play the endurance races, I can NOT for the life of me finish the very last championship in the professional series. I've been trying for at least a year now just to get any farther, and I'm tired. I paid full price for this game brand new, and I feel like I just want to get the most out of it. Basically, I want to drive all the cars!!

If anyone that reads this is willing, I'm offering to send them a blank memory chip for a PS2, and a return shipping package. Simply copy your finished save game (with all cars available) to the memory chip, drop it in the mailer, and send it back.

This is NOT some kind of scam. I'm not sure how, but if there's some way you need me to prove this is legitimate, I can. My personal email is:

Aardvark892@hotmail.com

Please somebody help me. I'm so frustrated, tired and angry about this game now, I'm about to throw it in the trash.

Thank you in advance!

Hi Tim. The easiest way to get the quickest enjoyment for your copy of GT4 is basically to cheat by using an Action Replay Max unit. It's getting harder to find them but if you do, they have all the codes for GT4 from unlimited money to unlocking all tracks/licences. It also allows you to fix your memory cards if you ever have a corrupt data problem. It costs between $20-40 US depending on who you see. Here's a link from pricegrabber.com about who's the cheapest, etc.

Action Replay Max comparison prices.

That will help you out with your dramas and allow you to continue enjoying GT4. 👍

I think that the best thing to do would be to check out the Spot Race & Lap Times Comparison forum here on GTPlanet. Here's the link.
From there you can search out which best times on which tracks that you want. 👍

Mafs!!
(The "Finch" of GTPlanet!)
