You should buy whatever you feel like.

If you want some input from us, how about actually telling us why you want to spend 1.5million on a car, and what you're hoping to use it for?
It's no use us telling you to buy the Chaparral 2J if you're looking for a good car to enter into the FF Challenge! :dopey:

Also please note that "txt" slang such as "cus" instead of "because" and uncapitalised "i" instead of "I" aren't permitted here. This is part of the AUP for the site, and is what you agreed to follow when you registered here:

GTPlanet Acceptable Use Policy
No slang words that promote laziness, ie; “r”, “u”, “plz”, etc. will be tolerated. Decent grammar is expected, including proper usage of capital letters. Repeated violations will be grounds for suspension and/or permanent removal from the forums.

Please follow that guideline in future. Thanks. ;)

what car should i buy cus i have 1,500,000 credits?
thanks :)

Every Subaru Impreza that you can lay your hands on!!

They average in price around $15k from the used car lots, so you should be able to buy quite a few. The Subaru Impreza Coupe 22B-STi Ver. '98 is choice (available during week 27 in the NTSC/NA Version). Don't forget to visit the Subaru Dealer and pick up some new cars, though expect to pay full price. My garage has about 25 Impreza's, and just posting about them makes me want to go buy some more! See my Avatar!

Seriously, please tell us more about where you are in the game. We can then give better guidance.

Respectfully,

As I anxiously wait for the release of GT5 I have spent countless hours and days, as everyone else on this forum, shredding GT4. The experience and knowledge I have gained has been priceless. However, the time spent tuning and testing over and over again can be fun but at the same time tedious. Is there a website or info system that I can plug in to that can give me vehicle make and model stock specs? Such as if the vehicle comes with limited slip, performance brakes and rotors, or anything of that sort so I can add moddifications that are most beneficial without over tuning the car? I try to keep the vehicles as stock as possible so there is still a challenge. Does this make sence??? Thanks in advance

Hey I was just wondering, does anyone know off the top of their heads how much retailers dropped the price of the Driving Force steering wheels when GT4 was realeased??? I'm planing on buying a Driving Force GT, but I figure if the G25 wheel is going to drop in price, then I might as well get that one.

I believe it's around the $100 mark at the moment. Pretty sure this is for PS3 though, not many places still advertise PS2 things. Not sure how much it's dropped. Could be able to get a good deal from Amazon or even just from your local electronics' store.

I got my Driving Force GT at Dick Smith Electronics for $120 last September (At Harvey Norman they were $300).

Whats up people. Ok So I was tyring to get far in GT4 and was participating in the Japaneese GT series. So basically I had been playing for more than 9 hours and thats when I had this freezing problem. Its also wasnt when the loading wheel turns red either. It was right after a race going to the replay screen and it froze on the black screen. Ian quessing this was because the ps2 or the game or the lens got too hot right. Cuz I turned it off than back on when to the driving park and the same thing happened.

I put my hand on the ps2 and the game and they were hot or not even warm so just wanted to know if this has happened to anyone and if you guys know why. Iam hoping it was because it was just too many hours of play.

Ian quessing

What's Ian Quessing got to do with all this?

There's a basic grammar standard that you're expected to stick to here, which means words like "cuz" aren't permitted, words like "wasn't" require the apostrophe in place.

Oh, and by the way, this is the general GT4 questions thread. Please ask any general GT4 related questions in here. There's really no need to spam our forums with a different thread for every aloof question you have related to GT4.

Ok my bad about the grammar it was 430 in the morning when I posted that. Also you didnt answer my question. The reason I posted this up front is because I have not seen anything about this issue. I dont understand why It had to be moved?

does anyone knows how can i change the camera??? i want to see the car....and i don;t know how to change this option help me plzzzz

"Select" button changes the view when you're racing from bumper cam to bonnet cam to kiddie cam (behind car)

Capital "I" for yourself and no "plz" txt-slang in future please. ;)

Time of day is not a good excuse for laziness. "didn't" & "don't" hve apostrophes, please use them in future. The thread was moved as it's a general question about GT4, and as such is better off in here. If you want more information, and it's not on the front page and immediately visible, try using our search function to search within the GT4 forum for "freezing", "frozen", "froze", "bugs" or some such term and you may find what you're looking for.
We can't be expected to know the reasons for every single happening or bug in GT4. You should direct such questions or complaints to Polyphony Digital as they wrote & produced the game, whereas we're just here to discuss playing it.

As far as game freezing goes, no-one knows why it happens when it's not the Disc Read Error fault, nor can anyone predict when it's going to happen.
It's happened to me just once after the Infineon World Sports Car Race in the Endurance Hall, it's happened to other people in different places, but it seems to be a totally random event with no pattern.

Hi everybody, I'm new member of gtplanet forum.
I'm now doing GT world championship in AMG CLK GTR '98
over 1000hp, ASM & TCS off
is it possible to win on such tracks as hong-kong where I need to brake to 40-50 mph and "burn rubber" on 2nd and 3ed gear?
It's difficult to win
Have anyone tried this?
Have you got any tips?
and excuse me my english :)

Is it even possible? I used the search function in this forum and still didnt find the question, much less the answer. Thanks for any help!

Blues

Yes, its possible.

If you check the 200 point stock thread you can see that a couple of drivers have won all ten races using the Mercedes AMG CLK GTR.

I have not driven the Mercedes AMG CLK GTR at Hong Kong, so I don't have any specific suggestions, however, I would try reducing the horsepower so you don't burn out your tires so quickly. This assumes that you are driving the AMG CLK GTR in A-spec mode. Also, make sure you qualify so you can start from first place.

There are also a number of GT World Championship threads that list various other cars and suggested strategies for winning these tough races.

Good luck,
GTsail

I did this race in R89C using Traction Control lvl 1 on some tracks like hong kong, NY etc.
However, if i had raced in CLK GTR I would have got only 10-15 A-spec pts

Hello Guys,

I am new here, and I live in Germany. So sorry for my bad english :)

I will ask if someone have a experience with GT4 with a TFT LCD Monitor. I buy a VGA-Box, because my TFT havent Video entrance (Cinch).

I will try it tomorrow, when i take a PS2 from my friend. When all things are all right, i will buy a PS2 only for playing Gran Turismo :)

I hope it will be very nice! 3 years before I played GT4 very much, but than the PS3 is coming and i stopped.

I've noticed how lazily the pit crews change tires. It feels like you're pulling into Les Schwab or somewhere. It takes about 25 seconds for them to change tires. In a LeMans pitstop in real life, it takes about 5 seconds. NASCAR takes about 10 seconds. I mean, for only changing tires, GT4's pitstops are REALLY LONG. Hopefully the pitcrews in GT5 will get the lead out. I mean, if a pitcrew took that long in real life, they'd be out of a job.

You seem to be choosing to ignore the distinction between the time for a pit stop and the time for the tires to be changed, which I would have thought would be obvious. 25 seconds is approximately how much time you lose in GT4 by making a pit stop, which includes entering and exiting pit road and maintaining the speed limit in addition to actually being stopped in the pits. The fact is that the interval in GT4 between when the jacks lift the car off the ground and when the car is set down again is less than twelve seconds. Yes, that's still slower than professional pit crews in real life, but think of it this way: in GT4, most cars and most races are in road cars, so not only are the tires not made to be changed quickly (when was the last time you changed a flat tire on your car in twelve seconds?), but it also wouldn't make sense for the tire changers to be professional motorsport pit crews. Of course it would be more realistic for the time of a pit stop to depend on what type of car you're driving, but you can't expect GT4 to account for that level of detail.

true. But I have heard that is how it's going to be for GT5: if you're in a race car, the pit stops will reflect it, and if you're in a road car, pit stops will take a little longer.

The crazy thing is, though, the pit lane speed limit is higher in GT4 by about 2-5mph. (at least that's what the cars end up doing. Which means that most of that 25 seconds is lost in actual tire changing. (12 seconds, like you said..that's nearly half the time spent in the pits.)

The crazy thing is, I've seen four tires, fuel and an entire front end get replaced in 12 seconds.

But this is GT4 and is will never change for GT4 :)

Why does this really matter, it's the same for the AI as well.

I would love to see this, an 'entire' front end. I would guess you just mean the front wing, and not all the suspension.
Although suspension would be part of the 'entire front end'. Just saying. :)

I actually sat there and timed it while doing testing for the CTC...it's about 12 seconds from the time the car goes on the jack to the time it gets lowered in GT4. That's just for tires. More time might be needed if the fuel tank is almost empty.

EDIT: tree'd by uh...everyone so far in this discussion.
