I've been on the www.us.playstation.com GT4 section again and not only does it have the M3 GTR with the alternative paint scheme but it also says the M5 and Concept M5 are in the game.

anyways i was gonna make a new topic, but incase theres one already, i best post it in here instead.
I was on this forum, and some guy said he had played online Gt4 already! he said something about tricking the ps2 into thinking your in lan mode or something, and u use something called xlink? anyone else know what this is?or could give me some more information please?

He is right, you can use Xlink to fool your PS2 so you are online , but GT4 and the PS@ thinks your playing LANs2000loverlol, and how much is that?

theres a review up at 1up.com. not too in depth but it does confirm 1080i in the US version. I made a new thread for this but it hasnt shown up yet.

Reading all about Gran Turismo 4 has made me get out my copy of Gran Turismo 3 and play it to death again (ahh the memories!)
I am now dribbling over Gran Turismo 4 but i have a couple of questions which i expect have already been answered in some context in these forums, but im sure you lot will help me
The 24hr race is at Nurburgring right? Is it the 14 mile long track or the one formula 1 cars use? How long does it take to do a lap?
Is there a Daytona 500? Is there any NASCAR races at all?
Is there still rallying? Any wet tracks? Maybe snow?
What other endurance races are there? (Full list will be brill if anyone knows)
I live in England so will be buying the PAL version, i dont know if this effects my questions or not.

2- Theres no Daytona 500, or any Daytona cars or tracks in GT4.
3- The rally races return, you can race on one track thats complete snow and ice and another thats mainly snow covered roads. Also you can race Tsuskuba in the wet and theres a few rally type races on road tracks this time around as well.

You may be right, Infineon raceway is in AKA Sears point with two variations of it. I don't follow NASCAR and I don't know what tracks they race on, so unless I see an oval I don't really associate the track with NASCAR even though I know they don't just race on ovals.

You won't see any NASCARS in GT due to licensing, the Taurus in GT2 wasn't a NASCAR, Nascars are 800Bhp RWD V8 monsters,, the Taurus in GT2 was just a normal Taurus that had a NASCAR style body after you id the race mod on it.

I have a couple questions on the game......and I cant seem to find the answers on here.
1) Is there a drag racing mode?
2) Are engine swaps available (in some?)
3) Is online going to be available in the version coming out tomorrow?
4) When lowering a car, is it noticeable, in GT3 it wasnt as noticeable.
5) Does every car sound alike? or do all the cars sound different?.. American muscle sound thick and grunty, where Honda sound raspy and Nissan sound deep... you know what I mean??
PLEASE answer me these.......... as they are 50% of the reason I would purchase the game.... and I really want to know, thanks guys.

I do not have the game yet, but from what i've heard and read:
-no drag racing mode
-no engine swaps
-no online, although PD said there will be a future online release disc.
-I believe it is more noticeable when lowering a car, i only can tell from the Photomode pics that people post. I do notice lowering.
-As for sound i really could'nt tell you. The video posts are not a good thing to go by, because the sound is much better on the TV or soround sound, then it is when people upload videos.

First of all the drag racing. You can do it, but it's not a mode per se - eg, there is no Drag Hall.
Second of all, online. GT4 can be played over a LAN (I believe), but you can't connect up to your best friend two continents away.
And finally, engine noises. In the search for perfection, PD have gone and recorded the sounds of each individual engine (or at leats used the engine sounds still on file from GT3), so each engine will be unique, even if you don't notice it. American cars won't all sound 'meaty' because they're not all built the same way.
