Hey guys and gals !!

i was just wondering if someone could direct me to a thread relating to driving challenges and what not in gt4... sort of like having a car with certain settings and trying to beat a certain time? i dunno...

Just like time trials with certain cars and settings and with goal times that are realistic yet challenging...

i just think its a good idea and im sure something is out there but i am yet to find it with a search...

Cheers guys!

Try the 200 point racing challenge , it restored my interest in the game.

How come in Seattle Circuit Reverse the AI always hit the wall after the first corner? Is it just me, or is it another Artificial Idiot moment?

I hate that bit of fencing that sticks out after the left hand turn of the main straight. bob always smacks into it.

I wasn't really thinking of races and i have checked out the 200 a-spec point thread which is good!

BUT..

I was thinking of more of a time trial type of thing...

For exapmle if someone had a stock s2000 or something... and had attained a certain time around mid-field (or any other track) that they though was good a time... they could post details on the car, its settings, the track, and times.... so then other people could look at that and try to beat it themselves....

am i making any sense???

I guess i just want to compare myself against other racers out there and with the absence of online racing etc with gt4 i think that is logical way to do it...

You mean like our Weekly Race Series?

Or the Nurburgring Challenge?

I bought a Logitech Formula Force RX and the Paddle shifters don't work.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I've heard that somebody said that its possible to mke them work somehow.

Does somebody know how?

Hmmm, was thinking, maybe to make it easier for car threads and stuff to be visable, maybe we should do individual car class threads? Maybe someone with mod powers could index good posts about certain cars?

It'd certainly make searching easier, as the car database seems to only give stats as opposed as a full insight into how the cars handle.

Could even have a 'drivers' top 3 cars of this class' and in brackets why, i.e. obtainability, user friendliness etc. Obviously classes would need to be generalisied, as there are lots of classes, but I think it could work.

I love debating the cars, their strengths and weaknesses etc, as lots do, but usually I find these debates tend to hijack threads which aren't necissarily based on that specific topic.

Of course, I suppose I could go write stuff myself in the database, but that'd be the opinion of one guy, me, and obviously opinions would differ.

Thats a very good idea. I have an excel file with every GT4 car in it sorted into their correct classification e.g. Concept Cars, Hot Hatchbacks etc. alot of them have only one car in them, so it would have to not be too precise, just precise enough to have several cars in each class.

for some reason, gt4 refuses to save my driving aides configuration for 2 player battles in arcade mode. has anyone run into this before? if so, do you know how to fix the problem? for some reason, TCS and SM are turned off... i turn them on, everything seems to be fine until i enter a 2 player battle. after starting the race, it is obvious that TCS and stability management are off. i return to the main options screen, and what do you know... they are turned off. it is becoming very frustrating, and it is making me not even want to play 2 player races any more. any suggestions?

I have passed all races in the gran turismo mode, but I still have 99.1%, how can I get 100%, who can tell me where is the problem?

The problem is that you've missed 4 races and/or championships.

Download the Race Database and check that you have one of each of the prize cars you're supposed to have (manually sort through your garage and tick off each one as you find it), then check in your diary that you've won each race at least once. This will rule out all of the GT Mode races.

Other than that, all you have to do to get game completion percentage is Mission Hall. Check you've passed each of the missions.

Licences are irrelevant.

Umm... I've been doing it with auto-driving buddies all along? They let you select that specifically for each player.

Everytime I go to arcade mode, and start selecting each car, if I choose Manual for first player, second player automatically has Manual chosen for the race as well.

I drive Arcade Mode/2 Player quite a lot, and it always allows independent selection of gearing and driver aids.

Got a quick question, the Spoon EK9, does it happen to have a K20 (as in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ny3NqpPm2j0&mode=related&search=) in the engine compartment or no ?, just curious 💡
This page will take you directly to the Spoon Civic "power unit" page. Judging by that page, a K20 isn't an option, with instead Spoon sports favouring K16's and 18's.

In my experiences, all driving aids are turned off in 2P mode and you can't turn them back on. I'd appreaciate a member back or dismiss my claim, as I'm not 100% sure about it. I never played much 2P Im afraid

why dont they have anything that shows debris..it makes me mad that there arent any damage models for the game. Why?!?! it would add more realism for the cars and physhics simulation. also, why are the rims not 3d! grrrr.
oh well, they did there best with about 600+ cars in the game.

Such detail is too difficult with the PS2's hardwares capabilities. It could've been done, but it would take more time and effort that may have resulted in GT4 being delayed even more. Also, carmakers generally cringe at their cars being damaged. Scaff seems to know alot about it. If you want to know more in extreme detail then I'd reccommend PM'ing him.

I'm not quite sure, but at the same time, I'm not quite bothered ;)

729.... in the PAL version anyway.

It seems only 723 of them are available in arcade mode. i'm strictly guessing the other 6 are the black edition racers and the Auto Union V16 Type-C Streamline.
