Everyone who sent me a PM the past few days. I'll updated the leaderboards tomorrow, again sorry for the delay.

Real life and OLR'ing has been getting in the way of my GTP time.. :ouch:

BTW holl01, someone has beaten your time, by almost a full second in the same car with TC off to boot...at least take the effort to look before you post a boast next time...

My mistake, I'll see what I can do with traction control turned off, obviously it must be faster

in sim mode its much easier to go faster with a modified street car than it is with a race car in arcade mode. Not only can you get the down force but you can soften the car up a bit to deal with the rough geometry of the track. So putting on some race tires and setting the car up correctly with gear ratios and such you can achieve a much faster lap time in GT Mode than Arcade if you do it right.

I ran a 5'14 in the Audi R8 with 2 spins in GT mode, the car is really touchy in some corners and such but its really fast in most places. Really hard to do a clean lap, but it will happen eventually.

Thanks for the replay pegasus, I hope you didnt think I thought you didnt do the time all I wanted to see was a replay because I thought i was going fast but it looks like I have some room to still find, and I can learn a bit from it. I think anyone here when they challenge a time doesnt necessarily believe its a false but, they might have some question and I know that If i question a time and you can prove it I respect you and give you props for a nice time. Just wanted to make that clear because i kinda felt like a whining ***** when i submitted it since i had done it once before. Never saw if there was a video for that but seeing as it never was submitted I guess not. But Good Job Pegasus

I was using R5's not R1's it must have been a typo. Unless my dad didnt put them on since he was playing before I got on. But I think i submitted it as R5 if not my bad it was supposed to be R5 tires not R1.

I will agree that in GT mode there are alot more options to modify the car. I have been doing my entire GT Mode with the cars in stock configuration minus the driving aids, adding an oil change and of course different tires.

The Audi R8 is a blast to drive.

No problem with posting the time, just an ugly video that is all LOL.

Thanks for the clarification on the Corvette C5R being on R5 tires instead of R1. I was going crazy last night trying to match the 6'00.xxx time posted and could only get to 6'03.xxx. Knowing it is R5 makes the job much easier.

Let me know what you think of the replay

Good lap time holl01.

Why modify the Max Speed ??. The time I have posted is with the default speed of 400km

Because increasing the max speed lengthens the gear ratio's, thus giving you more top speed on the straights. you can reach a speed of 395km/h with this setting as opposed to 10km/h less without adjustment.

Trust me, it works. Try it.

I have tried that already, but I decided to post the time I have with the default top speed setting.

I can post the time I have with the top speed modified to 420km if you want.

OK, I just did a 4'54.450, I don't think I can get any more time out of it. i'll post the replay if u want.

Ran a 7'33.009 in Time Trial mode in Nissan 350Z GT4 Special Edition.
Max hp. Min Weight. Soft Tyres.

I assume you are trying to see how you fair in that Irish challenge. Question: R u allowed to change the tyres to soft?

I did a 7'21.718 with medium tyres

that time sounds bloody fast, i have yet to attempt a lap around the ring in anything faster than i did in S-16.

Try it then, it'll be interesting to see what u get. do u want me to upload the replay of it so u can see that it is possible and that I'm not bull****ting.

yeah can you please upload the replay, and i know your not bull****ing :).

I felt pretty good about my 4.59.595 until I read most of these posts. I think there is time left, but not making mistakes is my biggest problem.

I used the Minolta Toyota, fully modified. I manually set the gears with a longer final drive and then shortened 1 through 5 so I wouldn't be in between gears so often.
I used GT4 wheel in GT mode. I can post complete setup if anyone's interested, but as some of the other posts have my time beaten by several seconds, you'd be better off asking them for setups.....

Have all the sub five minutes been done in the Toyota, or is there any other car that will do it?

i did my 4'54.450 (replay soon) in the toyota, but i can also get 4'57 with the nissan race car, and who knows with the formula gran turismo, neva driven it.

Rustye, your times are done in Simulation mode, where as the other guys are done in Arcade mode.

holl01
yeah, maybe ur faster in arcade mode or something, anybody know?
I've driven the Minolta in both Arcade and GT modes and it seems to be much easier in Arcade mode to me. My faster time was in Arcade and I was using N2O for the GT mode even.

I'll be updating the leaderboards this afternoon. I have a few PMs waiting. if you have a time and want to get it on the board today PM me in the next few hours before I updated.

Thanks.

I tried it in Arcade, same car +20 hp, -10 weight, and I wasn't as quick - 5.03, but I only did 4 laps. The car handles much different in Arcade. I think the main advantage to the GT mode is that you can get it to turn better in the slow speed corners by strengthening the diffs.

Arcade race cars carry about 50% of the downforce that their GT Mode brothers do, thus they will feel different and be harder to drive fast. Normal cars seem to be fairly close beyond some minor weight and power differences.

***Leaderboard is updated***

i am gonna try and c what i can do in gt mode with the minolta, i'll get back 2 u, anyone reccomend a setup to use?

Did a 7.22.677 in a lotus elise 111R. Man with 210kw & jsut 808kg (reduced) it spends more time in the air than the on the track. Im gonna up the power as it can go a bit more, & definately increase the downforce, cars are usually easier to control when some part of their tyres has contact with the tarmac :). And then fiddling with the suspension, you know, routine stuff.
