They're in the very first post on page 1 and page...7 I think.

Yup - think that's indeed the case. I'm in two minds about this; it's nice knowing that you don't have to worry about not getting the prize car you wanted, but the thrill of actually getting that much coveted "chance" prize car is now gone.

I am glad about this, however i am going to miss the thousands of post from people claiming that they have found a way to control the "random" car roulette wheel! I enjoyed reading those so much in GT3 forums

There are so many additions to GT4 which i thinkwill make it a great game, anaimating pit crews, animating spectators, great graphics, amazing amount of cars all with a certain degree of history .e.g. le man winners! While i do belive there is rom for improvement in GT4 it is a massive improvment over in predecessors and rivals. bring on March 9th!

I must say the auto save feature sounds very, very bad...seriously "phucked up"! 👎 Question is, can auto save be turned off completely and if it is does the game ask you to save every time you buy a car?
It really sounds like a backward step. Anyone know of any benefits of this new save feature?

Since I like testing/reviewing cars, the save feature is pretty damn awkward. For instance, for a short online racing series I might purchase an auto, purchase approximate upgrades up to the regulaations, and try it for lap times... Now that option is gone... I can't see any benefit either except "forcing the gamer to make wise decisions", but that's not much of a valid reason, especially since so many cars have misquoted power ratings at the dealerships... 👎 :grumpy:

Can I just ask if the auto "slick shifting" on the merc's like the sl55 has been fixed in the PAL version?

So it autosaves even if autosave is disabled? Dat don't make no sense.

This will be ****ing annoying for me. In GT3 I liked to buy cars and test them out to see weather I liked them. Then I would reload the game. Looks like you cant do that no more.

I agree with you neon_duke. It don't make sense that it still autosaves when you turn it off.

That feature will encourage us to try harder with a less performing car. So if the car we've bought is not as fast as we thought, we can do two things : Buy another one or tune it or we can try to reach our goal with that car as it is wich will be an extra challenge. Maybe it will be MORE FUN after all

Atlast it has become clear I am not the ONLY one that understands KY's thinking. Thats said it perfectly Raf, it'll make us have to work with what we have, which is exactly how life is, you take what you got and run with it, you learn for the next time from your experiences.

Thanks for that post dude, makes me feel a whole lot better. I can see why people are angry with it in concept, but I love the touch of hard-reality it'll bring :)

Oh, I understand the point, maybe, and I definitely understood what you were saying. But you should be able to drive the cars before you buy them in some way or another. Wwhen we were shopping for a real car last fall, we drove probably 12 different cars a total of several hundred miles before we made a decision and bought one. If real life worked the way GT4 seems to, we'd now have a Sebring, GT Cruiser, 2002 Saab 9-3, a MINI and a Cooper S, a WRX, an Altima 3.5, a 2003 A4, a 2003 G35 sedan, a Sentra Se-R, and a Mustang GT sitting in the driveway next to the TSX we actually bought. Let alone the car payments, I don't have a big enough yard for that lot.

Hmmm... Then perhaps a Test Drive option is needed, time or mileage limited... I do like the way they are forcing us to think though...

I really PD have messed this small detail up........you should be able to 'try' before you buy'......auto save that can't be switched off........that makes me :grumpy:

I wish.

Off topic: The TSX is a nice car. Over here in the UK it's a Honda Accord. My Dad looked at it once to see if he wanted it as a new car.

Amar...... pray tell..... what about the unlikely rumour that the AI has been tweaked for the PAL release?

I assume its still crap?

to all of you complaning about the autosave thing:

this game has a b-spec mode. this mode makes it possible to earn lots of money veeery fast & easy. if you wanna test drive a car, make some more money, have no more worries ;)
you´ll have to buy the cars to unlock them for arcade anyway, so what´s the matter?

Someone should really organize this thread. I'm sure no one wants to look through 26 pages just to see pictures. Maybe someone needs to learn how to use the edit post button.

It's still a bad idea because I would want to save up for the special black racing cars on day 700 and something. So you can't buy and buy otherwise you wont save up enough money to get them. You'll have to wait to test them after they've been on sale.

It's a day every race still isn't it?

Another question that popped up in my head... in which colors can you buy the Viper (GTS?)..... I really didn't like it in GT2 when I found out that I couldn't buy a blue viper with white stripes.

I think autosave is cool. You have one life in reality, not 100. And you have one way not 100. Prevents from "cheating" and this is good...its career mode and its great. I am playing GT4 Japanese now and i am happy with it.

If you want to test cars, you can always go to arcade mode and test them there.

Well, I never see Japanese people complain about it...

Maybe it isn't such a big deal, maybe we are just too spoiled.

I mean, we're getting the Japanese version and on top of it 12+ PAL exclusive cars, 2P Memory card battle, PAL exclusive music tracks + American and/or Japanese version music tracks, wide range to change units of measurement for power, speed and torque, ...

And we can complain about it, but it's not gonna change anything cause the mass production of the disc's have already begun.

P.S. Besides, you'll be ending up with every car in the game eventually. I know I did...

So Amar, what we still would like to know is the difference in driving physics. Could you please test? Oh well, I guess thats what he is doing in this very moment. :)

I think what you're saying is true, this new save feature will just take getting use to although it has advantages and disadvantages. Not being able to test drive a car I do not see as a major issue imo , as i didnt use that hugely although others may test drive most cars they buy i didn't. however with possibility of game data corrupting then that it is a worry.

👍

I like the idea of the autosave, it means you really have to think about what your going to do next.

You purchase the wrong car youve gotta deal with it, there shouldnt be any ourchase a car see if its good and if not reload and buy another, you pick and thats it, if its a mistake you gotta dealwith it as best you can
