GT4 PAL Hands On! 16th UPDATE: FINAL PAL UPDATE

Having used it extensively in the Japanese version I would be interested to know of its availability in the PAL version as I have that on pre-order. I like to at least be able to read the menus!

Bonnet view in the Japanese version has analogue instruments so I don't see the PAL version is likely to be different.

Oh great, its just in any of the replays i have seen, the rev counter always seems to be digital, so i assume that is just for replay purposes? I have never for PSW before so i am not aware if they get information wrong, however i did find they slated GT4 far to much! And the screenshots looked crap in the article!

Can't comment on this because I'm far away from 25% of the game. If it is true, it is great news.

I'll try my best to reach endurances as fast as I can, but I doubt it will happen before next week.

Bonnet view analogue... hm, did not make an record of it in my brain. Will check.

Guess that RSC is in, didn't check the Halls yet as I'm goolding the Licences.
 
Wow this is great! Tons of information pouring in! It actually amazes my that they seem to have changed so much from the NTSC(J) version. I'm not complaining though! :)

The thing I think I'm most interested in is if you can (as have been discussed) change from a-spec to b-spec and back during for instance endurance races. Let us know when you get there! :cheers:

Still have some questions about it...
  1. Will the Pal-exclusive cars be able to enter a race, unlike the Nike car and some others?
  2. Can you now enter a race with the Nike car and those others you couldn't in the Asian version?
  3. Can you now get into the GT Maintenance with the Nike Car and those other you couldn't in the Asian version? Same question for the Pal-exclusive cars?
  4. Are there new races (series) added for the Pal-exclusive cars?
  5. Is the Chinese version bug fixed in this version? The while counting down credits you won touch button freeze bug... Well, couldn't describe it otherwise so...
I know a lot of questions, but take your time. I'll hear it anyway in a new update or something. Thanks in advance. Keep up the good work. 👍

Amar - thanks for your insights of GT4 PAL, knowing that we have the Jag, Peugeot and Chapparel sports prototypes, along with the ability to use MPH instead of the usual Euro PAL KPH almost makes up for the long wait.

I have just one question: - how do the cars mentioned above handle?

... i'm also eager to find out if you can save during the enduro races - i don't fancy playing for 24hrs straight!
 
Wow - you are the man amar! I hadn't expected to find any of this stuff out for atleast another 5 days 👍👍. Although I am a bit saddened by the fact there is no C6R or C6-Z06 in the game, but I can make do with the rest of the cars :).

I wish I were in LA 👎:(
 
:nervous: Can't wait to drive on some of the old tracks again! Hopefully by the time I finish my night shift tonight we'll have the answer from Amar to many more questions. :) (The AI is my main one)

Data form both Prologue anf GT3 can be loaded. GTP save (with all licences done) clears B and A licences, while GT3 save gives 100,000 credits.

and thank you for the great job you do for all of us. It's just too hard to wait for the game without any news.
Have a simple question (was unable to find a clear answer on the forums, but it may be my fault) : when you mean a GT3 save allows you to start with 100 000 credits, is it a 100% save (game completed) or just a saved file with GT3 ?

If anybody else has a clear answer....

In regards to the question about entering the Nike Car in races i think you can. In a PSW mag i got it had a dvd with some GT4 PAL footage in it with various tracks and cars, and you can change views. On one of the races, it was a Nike One vs another car, cant remember what though! If i hadnt lost the DVD i would tell you! Is this any help?

EDIT: If you have GT3 then you get 100,000 but the game has not been touched in a way. All licenses still need doing and races raced! All it does it give you 100,000 credits. I am not planning on dong that, as i like the challange of starting off with crap cars and progressing to better cars, as long as i win races!
 
I skipped the last 3 pages, so maybe this was already mentioned...

but did anyone stop and consider that maybe PD was actually being SMART when they did the autosave thing, by turning a portion of your memory card into the PS2 equivelent of virtual RAM?
 
Let me get this straight: The game ALWAYS SAVES at ANY time, realistic but annoying, but JUST WHEN YOU NEED A SAVE IN AN ENDURO, IT BECOMES UNCERTAIN IF THAT WILL EVEN BE ABLE:indiff:!!!!!!!!!! Well, I notice I've got things straight a BIT late, since it's changed to a, maybe, feature to save. It's just that FIRST should have come the ability to save in an endurance race, and THEN the auto-save feature could be introduced, instead of the annoying opposite:indiff:, BUT well we MAY get the enduro save feature at last:D

Now I'm gonna check on other if there is anymore news that I and we should know, later:dopey:
 
... just to check up if I got it right:
if you transfer the data from GT3 you get 100,000 Euro SO THAT YOU START WITH 110,000 CREDITS(EURO) on the whole?---if yes then that´s nice! ;>

and if you upload the data from GT4P you get A and B licenses completed, but not with GOLD( not even with BRONCE)-just with "PASSED"?---oh man WTF?
And what about the License test price cars?--do you get them with uploading GT4P data?

...by the way, AMAR i would be very happy if you make a "PRICE CAR LIST" for the Licenses at least and then this list could be added on this site under the name PRIZE CARS rigt under MESSAGE BOARD!

If you use the GT4P save for the license you would still have to do the test with at least a Bronze to get the cars. This I suspect won't have changed from the Japanese version.
 
Yes, I believe that GT4P savegame will give you pass on licenses but not any prize cars. It seems logic.

And yes, prize cars list on licenses would be great if possible.
