Thanks for the info Amar! đź‘Ť Got to say I am rather jealous! I guess review copies of GT4 have been sent out to journalists etc for the March issues of magazines and so on. But the bulk of the copies are still being pressed I'm sure.
Did your copy come with the same book that the Japanese GT4 got?

Also I'm expecting the US release to have these cars and changes as well along with the Prog Scan and 1080i display options. When I have both (the US and PAL) I can describe any differences between the pic quality, etc!

Thats really awsome for us europeans living in US so that converter in mp/h to km/h would really be help ful so thats a nice news all around so big ups to that

thanks alot to amar

I;d rather get it a week later and have the extra cars, think about it, you could spend enough playing time with thoes 13 extra's to easilly cancell out the time you'd spend playing GT4 in a single week. I know I'm gonna love doing races in the XJR-9 and 905.

Man I wish it was only a week. We gotta wait for like, an extra 16 days. That's a long time :grumpy:

Thanks Amar212, that's some good news there about the choice of units, the 2-player races with garage cars, the Spirra and the corrected specs for the Ford SVT Lightning! Seems like SCEE did a very good job, and that they got good feedback from you :)

A question, as it is what's bothering me mainly regarding GT4 ... : is the crowd cheering like in the NTSC/J version, and can you switch it off?

[Requests to some members like Flerzibsky not to start hyperventilating and shouting around hysterically.]

And 2nd question : is the Vertigo still so overspec'd (900+ HP) or has it been corrected too?

i like km/h with hp and lb-ft

what's the diff between hp and bhp? does hp measure from the engine and bhp measure from the brakes (ie the wheels)?

Darts
I think at BHP they go test how much acceleration it has.

HP and BHP figures are interchangable.

HP = Horse Power
BHP = Brake Horse Power

The brake part simply indicates that the horse power was measured using a device that applies braking force to the engine allowing the power output to be measured.

Under SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) and ISO (International Standard Organisation) guidelines Horse power is measured at the crank, with the engine on a test bed, but all ancilary components fitted (i.e. Air Con, power steering, exhaust).

These are the figures manufacturers must provide to governments, however the advertised outputs can and do differ (step forward the Japanese), some governments are fairly easy going on the acuracy of published fuigures, others (such as Germany) are very strict.

For more info I suggest you both try google.

If anyone should be getting the best version of gt4, It's the US but whatever.

So how did you arrive at this conclusion. Why should America get the best version of GT4? did they make the game - even if they did it doesn't justify it being superior.
Surely everyone deserves the same version?

Purely arrogant statement that has no basis to the arguement whatsover and is competely unfounded, and you wonder why people hate americans.

Since they don't seem to ever want to post my threads at this place, I guess I'll ask you guys this.

Are there any water droplets on the screen when you're racing in the wet? I love that effect. It's awesome in Rallisport Challenge 2 and Colin McRae 2005. Don't suppose they've thrown it in this for the bumper cam or anything, or for on the lense during replays? I mean, they got heat haze in there. Some water droplets would rock.

Showroom figure = 632. Accurate figure, as it appears in your garage = 797.

For the LMP cars, the showroom figure appears to be accurate to real life. For some reason, PD have artifically bumped some of the LMP cars, presumably to compete better in a straight line with their older, more powerful cousins.

I have just gone on this web site and it further confuses me! As you can see, it gives 3 power reading! i dont speak german but i can guess what they say Maximum power 955ps, minimum power 636ps and stadard power 796ps. Does this mean that once i have got the bentley speed 8 and in my garage and it gives the standard reading of 796ps, i actualy have the ability to detune the engine to give the more realisitic HP reading? The same goes for the weight! While the stnadard weight is 900kg, which is accurate i am just curious!

I would also like to point out that this web site, actualy gives power reading, maximum, minimum, and standard to all the cars in GT4, including the ones which in the garage have a blank where the power output is. e.g. mclaren f1 gtr

For the Pal verison, what USB drives are compatible with the game, is it the same as the NTSJ v. or are there extras?

Easy turbo, I'll assume his point is because we didn't recieve Prologue or GTC. A little insecure today?

You probaly should get an PAL USB cause maybe it does'n't allow any other region hardware.

I agree that man needs to cool down, i mean GT4 is 1000000000000x better than that crappy Gt Concept and Gt 4 Prologue, and remember : we (Europe) didn't get the Harddisk, you didi.
So everyone loses something.

The japanese have an inferior version of GT4 and mostly bugs at new games, so everyone has something that isn't right, oke?

Hey, c'mon as much as American cars suck it seems like you'd give me a break guys. I have a morgan,,, I've never had an American car.

(not that Brit cars are the best either)

tigre_hobbes
I didn't except 900hp but something that's fit more the reality. The 905 was indeed 670hp or more.
Explain me why this car has beaten most of the LMP cars that have more than 700hp (in GT4 I mean) with only 512hp?
I wouldn't be worried about the power if the car can, like it did in real life, match with the other LMP cars.....
;)
Maybe it has superoir handling, that is alot more valuable than power, but your right 500 is kind of low, the rest has twice that.

PS: can you tune Le Mans cars?

Why is this so very important? what the hell makes 20 or 30 hp a difference? what do these governments with it?

Amar Can you please post an video on The nurburgring with Bonnet camera view of an Le mans car???
So we can see the difference.

BHP on its own is just a measurement of power and means very little in isolation. It needs to be used in conjunction to weight, how it is delivered is also important (across what rev range), as is an engines torque.

What difference does 20 - 30 bhp make, well it depends on the weight of the car

For example two cars with 150 bhp, one (a) weighs 500 kilos the other (b) 1000 kilos

Power to weight for each is:

Car A PTW ratio = 300 bhp per tonne

Car B PTW ratio = 150 bhp per tonne

Add 30 bhp to each car (and assuming no increase in weight) and the new PTW ratios are

Car A = 360 bhp per tonne

Car B = 180 bhp per tonne

In other words the same 30 bhp gain has a far more significant effect in car A than in car B, due to the much higher gain in Power To Weight.

The reason most goverments are interested in power outputs for cars is with regard to taxation, exhaust emmisions and insurance premiums.

Now this has got seriously off topic and if you want more info on this, I strongly suggest you have a look atthe Automotive section of GTP and the Car Physics thread.

Here is a link

Not to cause any offence, but you will start to get flamed if you keep asking questions like this, when the answers are already avaliable on GTP.

If you have specific queries, post them in the thread above or PM me.

in one of the pics it says: "Two player mode on" for the new york course, but off for all the others. What does this mean??

and another qeustion, can you do the Nurburgring in two player mode?

He hasn't unlocked that track yet, the Nurburgring can be 2p.

Oher option: he only wants to race that time in New York, next time , he maybe wants to race on more circuits and turns them on.
