hi guys, i just joined today :)

i read through all the posts and noticed that the 3rd gen iPod works. does anyone know/think the iPod Shuffle will work too? 💡 cuz if it does, i'm going to buy one right now!

(and hooray for gt4 coming soon. :) )
I really doubt the shuffle will work, all it can do is shuffle songs, you can't even pick one that you want to listen to, you have to wait till it comes up, from what i've been told.

anyone in uk ought to think about gettin the cruzer mini from e buyer ships the same day £14.09 all in for a 128 mb version, its the one i'll be gettin anyway, with each pic being 300kb roughly it will be big enough for a session of photomode 👍

ps, has anyone tried using a smartphone yet? they have sd cards and are linked to pc using usb, so shouldnt it be possible to write straight to the card?

just a thought

yea i got the mini cruzer for about £15, well worth it if ur planning on saving loads of pics, since if ur using an mp3 player, it will drain the battery out of it

there is an option to play-in-order of the songs in which they are uploaded, and there is the shuffle mode. well, im hoping it will work because i'm probably getting an ipod shuffle soon anyways (yay 15% off), and if it works, fantastic. it doubles as a storage device. =)

This is a more indepth list covering devices that work, are semi-confirmed as working (I think) and those not working. You might want to add some of these to the first post :).

If you need me to translate some of them don't hesitate to ask, reading katakana is easy peasy ;).

awesome post. i take it the iPod shuffle does work then? 👍

i see on that list the Creative Muvo works, does anyone know if this includes the new N200? (The N200 is not detachable, and it requires a cable to connect the player to the computer)

(N200 player)--(cable)--(usb port on computer)
(TX or TX FM)---(usb port on computer)

i think i read somewhere the TX and TX FM work, which are the older generation of the N200. thanks in advance.

Anybody with the PS2 hard drive know how to do this?

NOTE: I dont own GT4 yet and I dont have the PS2 HDD.

I believe the way you get pics to your PC hard drive is to be in the correct mode in GT4, select the option to transfer the pic to a USB mass storage device (not the PS2 HDD), save the pic to the USB device which should be plugged into one of the USB ports on your PS2, once saved take the USB device from the PS2 to the PC and use whatever application that is on your PC that will allow you to view the USB device, select photos and save them to your PC hard drive.

I believe you can also choose to save the pic to your memory card but you wont get the best resolution picture.

I dont think theres an option to save directly to a PS2 HDD but you could transfer the pics from a memory card to the PS2 HDD. once they are on the PS2 HDD I dont think there is a way to transfer them directly to a PC hard drive.

anyone feel free to correct me if Im wrong. most of this is off my memory of previous topics.

No hgplayer1 you are right, when I put the HDD that I use for my PS2 (a normal PC 70 gig Samsung) to try it out in the PC just to see what the thing had on it, I could not read it unless I formatted it, so that option seems to be a none starter.

Does work:

microx.gif

CnMemory SilverPearl MicroX USB 2.0 1024 MB

The stick is named "LEXAR MEDIA" on the Win desktop, so it is maybe one of the Lexar USB Jumpdrives:

Is it possible to advance a GT4 reply 1 frame at a time and take snapshots? I know it would take work and long time, but we could make hi-res replays with a video editing program.

Somebody mentioned trying this on another thread, so I tried it.

They asked would a digital camara hooked up to the PS2 be able to store photo mode pictures, well mine sure can't.

It's a Polaroid PDC 330.

When you stick it into the PS2 it acts like it's been connected to a PC for downloading of pictures, and you can go through all the menus to save, but when it starts to save it gets about 1/5 of the way through and then brings a warning sign up and quits.

I'm running the NTSC/J version of the game on a chipped UK version PS2.

Can anybody try a better camara to see if that would work? But as far as I can work out the theory, it can't work to a digital camara?
