Week 56

This week’s theme will be "Wide Angle" as chosen by Week 54 Winner 440 Charger.
Further explanation of theme:
Try to use a wide angle zoom shot. Something around 35mm or less. If it is more but the shot still looks to be wide angle, it will be ok. I will be judging on how mean and powerful and aggressive the car looks. And try to get close to the car so the shot has a lot of perspective.
Cars: Any
Tracks: Any
Phototravel: Yes

Crap. I would have had a nice wide angle Ka shot ready. :( :sly:

There's your challenge then, make a Ka look aggressive! :dopey:
I've already got a few shots planned. 👍

So, if I get this right, the goal is to capture the car from far rather then closed up as Charger winning picture of week 54?

He means capture it from close up using a wide angle shot. Basically, move the camera as close as you can and then zoom right out to fit the car in. < 35mm should do the trick.

It is quite difficult, i like wide shots but they're usually not so close to the car. I'm trying to get a nice drift shot but they're all either too close or too far away from the car at the moment :grumpy:

Thing about this theme is, it's so specific. It has to be close up, wide angle, and make the car look powerful and aggressive! I don't think there will be many entries that fit the theme tbh.

One of my first attempts at GT4 photomode, it's not pretty, I know.. but I might as well get an entry in.

The paint has been heavily edited by using Selective Colour changes. I wanted to make it look like a modified car magazine shoot :)

nice shots guys

@ Moglet - i tooo am baffled as exactly how to go about this one but i think yours is a pretty good guess ;)

Final Entry

I've had this picture for a while, I think it fits the theme, let me know if it doesn't 440

The only "wide-angle" shot so far.

From looking at it, yes. But the <35mm rule is a bit flawed because 35mm is nowhere near wide angle! Mine was about 30mm.

TBH i think the only way we can genuinely enter this one is in Photo Travel, the angles in Photo Drive are nowhere near good enough to get a decent close up wide angle shot!

I might give mine another go in PhotoTravel actually, i looked at it this morning and liked it even less :(

Woah, what happened with the rims there Moglet?

I had a lot of trouble with those, they're actually those large chrome ones but they wouldn't come out right no matter what shutter speed i used. :grumpy:

I'll give this another go at a later time i think.

Use the cut/paste method, it works fine 👍

Otherwise, just select the rims and copy them onto a layer of their own and then use the transform/ rotate and free transform tool to get it like a perfect circle, blur and then try to fit it in back as good as you can. But watch out though, it's a nasty method.

To give you an example of how wrong it can go, take a look at my newest update.

That's what i did....

Lmracer and GR, those look awesome. That's what I am after. I guess maybe Slip should take out the 35mm thing. I thought 35 gave a good wide angle, but i guess it needs to be a little bit less. Anyway, I know some good wide angle shots can be taken in Photodrive, but PhotoTravel gives you many more options with getting a wide angle. And I guess you don't have to be close to the car, but I just had a vision in my head that the closer you were, the more aggressive the car would look, but it does'nt really matter. I guess I should be less specific. Anyway, I know you guys can come up with something great.👍
