Judging whether or not someone is a car enthusiast isn't our responsibility.
But the underlying theme is that motoring is their hobby.

It looks like some people are arguing that B-spec is making everything easy...
Well, I admit that is true, but not for ALL races...
If you speed up the game 3x for Le Mans Enduros, so the time will be
24 / 3 = 8 hours without pitting in...
For some of you guys it might be real short, but for some it may be a little bit or even too long...
Still, I appreciate everyone's arguments, depending on how fanatic and enthusiastic in a game =)
... ticking by while you're off somewhere else, making the races wins-for-no-effort.
But does everyone have the TIME for A-specing a 24 hour?
I meant (namely) the performance tuning of NFS: Underground 2, which is far and away above anything the GT series has given us since the original game (and even then it isn't nearly as complex). I have spent hours taking cars in Underground 2 and tuning them to have certain attributes (lets say I want a perfect recreation of a MazdaSpeed Miata. I would sit down and force the torque curve to match up), only to throw away the car and go on to another one without even racing it.Realistic tuning rules out any NFS game,
Those 24 hr races are not meant to Aspec-ed...
Bspec is there for a reason people!

Compared to that, GT4's "slap parts on it and live with it" approach doesn't come close.
Really. I wish someone had told me before I A-specced the whole game.
Oh, wait, no.
Call me odd and all, but if I spend £35 on a game, I quite like to experience everything it has to offer first-hand. Setting it running and coming back to find it has given me free progress... not fun.
I dream to have as much time on my hands.
No of course it's not odd to sit in front of the TV for countless hours redoing the same lap with no challenge what so ever against a cutting edge AI with no weather or daylight differences and no break downs. Not odd at all. Your really getting your moneys worth.
I did an hour or so a night (and a bit more at a weekend) over the course of several days.
Heh, good call, but who said there was no challenge?
Sure, you can enter a Lamborarri Fasterossa into each race and be done with or, knowing what the automaton cars will do in the race, carefully select a car which you're not wholly sure can do the job unless you make no mistakes whatsoever.
Besides 250 laps really isn't that much. A good hotlapper will run that many for an OLR. I know back in the days of GTD I'd run at least that (albeit on smaller tracks).
Mine has been left on for weeks and hasn't had any problems.don't know.. ur ps2 isnt feelin that great either, being on all those days.
A Simpsons reference (albeit a botched one) or a sarcastic remark. Or both.and what the hell is a lamborarri fasterossa lol.. a bootlegged lamborghini and testerossa in one?

Well I quite like the idea of NFS Pro Street, but the physics suck so bad that the game needs to be buried and never spoken of again. Good choice on never playing it.
Quick development times with large casual fan base for quick turnover of $$$$$
Why do you think a new NFS game comes every year or so........ It's just for the dollars.
Have you played Pro Street, the car doesn't turn at all under acceleration or brakes- you have to coast around corners to do anything.
and if you really want to drive like a pro, you don't use automatic but manual, which means that R2 and L2 act as shift up/down buttons.
I'm one of those who suck and your normal every day video games. I've never been able to grasp the button smashing and stick twirling of Jak and Daxter,. Mario BGros and the like. But give me a good racing game and a steering wheel controller and I'll play all night!!
now that is what i am talking about.., that is US pros,
i too, had a hard time when i first played GT4.., i kept saying "wow, the physics are very different from GT2 & 3.., now THIS is a racing simulator!!"
to all the people here, hi-five..,
I still use the TCS... I am a noob and have only been playing for a month or so... my Father-in-law got me into the game... It was hard as crap at first... but, I loved it anyway!
Pfft.. I use stick and paddles myself, after all, I have G25..
and I loved GT4 as soon as I turned all the aids off. after all, my first car after transferring the credits was 400bhp+ R32 GT-R.
