I have a new bogey circuit, and it's name is Twin Ring Motegi Road Course :yuck: :yuck: :yuck: I struggle there, pretty much because it has three long straights with tight corners at the end and big, unforgiving gravel traps, and it takes ages to figure out the right braking spot for each and every car you race there...

Hong Kong and Paris took a bit of getting used to, but I like them both...

a useful aid to finding a good braking point is to keep an eye on your gear display. when the red indicator starts to flash, smoothly put the brakes on to slow down and change to the gear that corresponds to the flashing number. if you're still going in a bit fast apply the brakes more firmly. you'll obviously need to be using manual gears. :)

Cheers, helpful suggestion...unfortunately I use the simple display mode because that 'suggested gear' indicator really gets on my nerves and I find it distracting... however, I will switch it on for this circuit until I get better at it... 👍

the tracks i hate the most are as follows:

*chamonix
*beginner course (both of them)
*opera paris
*george v paris

these tracks should not be on gt4 and should be replaced with some of the tracks from gt2 like:

*grindelwald
*tahiti rally track (not tahiti maze)
*tahiti road track
*red rock valley speedway

so for gt5 get rid of the tracks the tracks that i hate and replace it with the tracks from gt2 witch have been listed below the tracks that i hate.

I hate all Motegi curcuits with such, such passion. I hate their arrangements and corners, and scenery :yuck: They're just generally bad.

I'm really beginning to hate all Fuji circuits because they're every second race in the whole damn game. I'm also getting tired of Tsukuba for the same reason.

I disliked most city circuits, but then I mastered a couple of them with the Speed 12 and decided they weren't so bad :P But I still hate Hong Kong because of the crappy ripple strips. If they were laid properly, they'd be proper corners.

If you don't like the Nurburgring then you're not a fan of motorsport ;)

agreed fred , if you don't like the good old schleiffe then you ain't a car nut or you are just plain stupid.

if you don't like it then in my opinion get a f :censored:g life and think about what you are saying.

I hate New York. (of course the gt4 track , not the city!).
Long straights, 90 degree turns, no rhythm, boring as hell. The whole challenge is to find the perfect braking point. If you brake too early: AI will bump into your rear. Brake too late: you will bump into the walls. 👎

I think NY is much worse than Opera Paris- Paris has some rhythm, it has some corner combination, more interesting.

You can also find the brake points by looking at all the skidmarks, don't follow them or else you'll end up in the gravel, but it should be an indication where to brake. On Laguna seca I do follow the skidmarks though, there it practically shows you the best line to drive, except near the corkscrew turn.

I hate the Hong Kong course and i am no fan of Motegi either.Hong Kong doesn't have any flow to it,it's just wrong.
Motegi is kind of tricky if you don't know it.I always excpect the first corner to be a little further away and end up braking too late. It's too bland aswell.

nurburgring & motegi.. I HATE GRAVEL.. there's only one place that you can get away with it, and thats at the end if you go thru it sideways into the final stretch, but u have to hit it just right. lol (i use the 315k Z350 from the japan championship).. then whenever i want a new car just win the series a few times and voila. lol (but i hate nurburgring.. its unsettling for some reason.. maybe its cause i'm having such a hard time with the iA test, or because its so uneven.

WOW! After trying new suspension settings (cheers btw boost654) I actually enjoyed going around El Capitan. I remove it from my disliked tracks, and encourage anyone who doesn't like it to sort out their suspension (if you haven't already) because it completely transforms this track.

👍 Glad to be of help, dude. That sample setting I sent you will work for most FR cars on most tracks. Try messing about with it. I usually use it to start with, try the car out and then tweak away untill the car feels right. 👍

I hate all the rally's in gravel or snow, and hong kong and paris tracks

oh, and Grand Valley is still a annoying circuit

all the others I like, Nurburgring is the best track in the game, but I like driving the simple tracks like Tsukuba, Autumn Ring and Midfield

i like the gravel and hate the snow. lol ... the rally circuts are fun, i like grand canyon.

There is a difference between hating a track for it's difficulty and for it's boring state,

Nurb is the best exemple of my first point, best track of the GT series ever, but some people think it sucks, just get better!

A boring track has to be Hong Kong, absolutly no rythm, worse than NY!

Oh, did I forget to mention.... ANY race or track that involves those blankety blankety blank (so called) sport tires. Might as well be driving on the rims. No brakes + no steering = NO **** GOOD.

Sorry, just had to get that off my chest. :)

My PS2 stopped working earlier this week, second time ive had problems with disc read errors (Im slowly beginning to hate Sony for this)... so I'm frozen on 86.4%

I've never really been addicted to anything in my life.

But right now.... OMG what I would do for just one lap around the Nurburgring. :( :( :banghead: :banghead:

The day my PS2 decides to co-operate, thats where I'll be headed and there will be much

pray for my sanity until then!

EDIT: HOLY **** it works! thank you god!!!
I've tried about 100 times in the last week and up to now, nope nope nope. But I just decided to try again and it worked! Wheeeeeee! Here I come Nurb!

I can't stand NY or HK. I dont much like the rallies either but then Ive always prefered the tracks.
Im quickly getting sick of all the Fuji's cept the earliest one and Tsukuba.
Id like to see red rock valley and Grindenwald brought back in GT5 too.

Hong Kong is the worst track ever to grace a gran turismo game. El Capitan has to be one of the best however el capitan reverse is almost on par with hong kong.I also agree with chinny on gitting Red Rock valley and Grindlewald back for gt5.When i first saw the mini-map of el-capitan i thought that it was grindlewald, does anyone else see the resemblance

i cant beilieve no-ones mentioned this, the new york track is a nightmare. That sharp right is just impossible after the long straight, neither me nor billy-spec has mastered it, still managed to win the supercars while bashing into the walls though :indiff:

Yeah, these tracks were great in GT2! :)

Tracks I dislike: Ice Arena, Chamonix, Fuji 2005, and Hong Kong (but the replay on Hong Kong can look real nice)

Tracks I like: Cathedral Rocks (gotta get some dirt on these nice cars some time :sly: ) , Deep Forest (very nice scenary I think), and Opera Paris - ok it aint great but I really like taking this turn perfectly (or close to it):

How do you call this kind of turn?

Has anyone seen this kind of turn in another track?

I only dislike the tracks that look boring, have no scenery (makes them feel slower and longer), and are waaaaay overused - Tsukuba, Motegi (double ugh to the full course), Fuji (all of them) and Seoul (though you don't have to race this one much). Suzuka and Laguna Seca are just about okay, the technicalities of these courses keep it intresting ish.......I find Suzuka's too long though and I confess that i'm rubbish at Laguna Seca despite playing it in every GT.

I like all the rest of the courses, even the rally ones and Hong Kong (it's very pretty) - only Swiss Alps (too dull looking, always feels 5 times longer than it is) and Ice Arena (too short and nowhere to overtake) get my thumbs down.

I think I am one of the only few who actually liked Hong Kong even the first time I did it. I noticed its easy to catch the AI in the corners even if your in a slower car. Oh well I also like Seoul and God forbid.. the Test Track! I took a AC out on Seoul and had a blast I really like the corner by the pits where you can slide really far out and still make it.

Worse for me is the twin ring BS.. I just havnt ran much on it yet (the reason I suck on it) but when I get out there with anything with some power I cannot figure out where to brake to keep it on the track.

I also suck on the 'nurb but I still enjoy running around it. I did it in the 3 wheeler midget even.

Wahoo!

Cant agree with you more, surely we can afford the loss of Hong Kong and one of the paris tracks to allow some of the older GT tracks back in

yes, special stage route 11 had one in gran turismo 1... (just the turn was to the other side, on the tunnel) then they take out in the R11 version on gt3... it was one of the most challenging turns of the game, in one of the best tracks, but they´ve lost it... i would like to see that track back... togheter with the all mighty grindewald...

I am a rare person who loves hong kong, yes i love it. and new york. it is pure adrenaline in a fast car on the long NY straight, and those two corners right next to the water at HK give you a great feeling when you get them just right.

one track that should be in GT5 and that should kick out a crap, unexciting track in GT4 like Tsukuba, is Mount Panaroma Bathurst. one of the best tracks in the world i reckon. it has everything - straights, downhill, uphill, chicanes and more. Spa fronchorchomps (i can never spell that bloody name right) should also be in GT5 because of the fantastic scenery and wonderful variations in the track.

Nurburgring will forever be my fav GT4 track, my least favourite would have to be.....hmmmm............all the beginner courses :yuck: :yuck: :yuck: and ......Autumn Ring Mini :yuck: :yuck: :yuck: :yuck: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
