Yeah, these tracks were great in GT2! :)

Tracks I dislike: Ice Arena, Chamonix, Fuji 2005, and Hong Kong (but the replay on Hong Kong can look real nice)

Tracks I like: Cathedral Rocks (gotta get some dirt on these nice cars some time :sly: ) , Deep Forest (very nice scenary I think), and Opera Paris - ok it aint great but I really like taking this turn perfectly (or close to it):

How do you call this kind of turn?

Has anyone seen this kind of turn in another track?
Its still referred to as a chicane.
You can see those "speed traps" at a lot of tracks.
One I can think of offhand is called The Bus Stop at Spa Francochamps in Belgium.

Here's a pic of the entrance.

He doesnt mean a traditional chicane like l'arret de bus, it's the bigger blockier bit in the middle of a (sort of) straight in Opera.

I suppose technically it is a complex of two chicanes. The second chicane at the bus stop is hardly a chicane at all though!

Hong Kong for sure has a high annoyance factor. Good to see High Speed Ring back though. And El Capitan is a blast, whichever direction you take it in. And La Sarthe without chicanes? Awesome. All I need to do now is get hold of a decent sports prototype motor for some serious speeeed...

El Capitan is easily one of my favourite tracks for anything that not and LMP or GT1 car, those things are sort of too easy to drive and have no feeling. WRXs or EVOs are way more fun to drive in my opinion.

Those tracks that exhorst and MDT suggested are very very nice.

I have no idea why they are not in the game instead of some other ones we've mentioned.

I looked them up on the web and Spa-Francorchamps is really something to look at; it even has its own museum (other tracks might too) and here are some links if anyone else wants to learn more about these tracks:

Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium) Racing Circuit

Official website 👍

Great pics of the track

The track

Nice article (it says that Spa is a few hours away from Nurburgring  ...( I think I have to move to Belgium in the near future :dopey: )

Spa Francorchamps museum

Check out the track, the racing NSX and Ferrari and the Gran TUrismo 4 logo on a car on this Spa Francorchamps webpage

The track in a FANTASTIC artwork: (notice that the color tells you the car speed :dunce: WOW! I wish all tracks had a map like this one, let's hope the strategy guide has done something like this below)

Bathurst (MT Panorama) Racing Circuit

Nice Aussie racing website with good stuff on Bathrust

Great pics of the entire track

I don't hate any of the tracks in gt4, but I do dislike a few of them. The worst been the test track (talk about dull)

ok its nice to use to see just how fast a car is, but that's about it.

fav. track has got to be El Capitan its just fun to drive
the ring just plain scares me !! that track certainly increases your heart rate.

comments ??

I absolutely hate Hong Kong. No room for racing, and the hairpin throws me off every time.

My absolute favorite is El Capitan. I test all of my cars there before I race 'em.

I love the Ring too, but it's just not my favorite.

Hey TsunamiSephi I checked out the GT-R 2007 on your sig....nice! 👍 Have you seen the GT-R Chrison rendering? It is amazing  , That is exactly how a next generation GT-R from Nissan should look like IMO, but it probably won't to go into production like that. Here is a pic:

Let me know if this is the one were talking about 👍

PS: I'm gonna start saving $$$ TODAY to have that car :)

2007 GTR is the off-shoot version of the r35 edition (g35 in america) My hopes is it will come to america. too bad I will never be able to afford one. But, I can always dream. Speaking of skylines, is anyone depressed about the new styling of the next gen? I prefer the muscle look over the 350Z vertical headlights and obnixious taillights... but that could just be me...

here's the gt-r I've seen. I believe it's the official "35 series" gtr. The concepts I have seen posted on the internet is hopefully to reclaim the badge the skyline once held. I really sound like I don't like the 35 series, but I think they could do more. It doesn't look like the badass car it used to be. Let's all hope the r36 will spark the flame in our gtr hearts.
Also, I wish they'd keep the straight six. I've driven a maxima with a VQ35 and it rocked, but I thought THE rb26 was another piece of nostalgia that was lost in this generation of Skyline.

Iknow, I'm off topic and ranting, but I just needed to get it out of my system....

No disagreement there. My b-spec driver cannot do that course no matter what I do, which means that its probably the only course in the game that I absolutely must a-spec regardless of whether or not I feel like it. and I HATE that course. Gah. I dont know if I'll ever do Suzuka 1000miles.

Updated:

The Whistler Ice Arena is a real pain to drive in, especially if you are a beginner at this one. The track has extremely low friction, the length is very short (although that slightly adds in to the easy factor), and trying to overtake your opponent is very difficult because of the slippery course and the alarming tendency to get smacked with a 5 sec. penalty; this goes double if you accidently hit the car head-on, which is very annoying 👎 :grumpy:

Rings Rings Rings .............. i cannot understand how people can pay money to watch a ring race ..........even indianapolis ......BORING BORING BORING

No more rings i want Spa , Monza , Monte Carlo ( not F1 track , Rallye )

and in rallye GT4 , I HATE Grand canyon , makes me mad this one , with an evo 6 fully upgraded and quite well tuned , simply pain in the ...

GT4girl el capitan is one of my favourites , it s fun

After much careful thought & consideration, I`ve concluded that Nurburgring SUCKS. Long, tedious and boring 👎.

ok then, after much thought and consideration, 💡 💡 💡 ive concluded that you think the Nurburgring SUCKS because you SUCK at driving it and the track is too challenging for u :dunce: :dunce: :dunce:

yes it is very long, who gives a **** the longer a track, the less amount of laps for endurances, therefore less repetition. But how the **** can you possibly think it is boring?? if you think the Ring is boring, then every other track in the game must be boring to you then

👍 Suzuka- can't wait to aspec the endurance!
Nurb- ditto.

👎 Tsukaba- can wait to aspec the endurance! Too slow and twisty and never gets out of its own perimeters!

I have already stated that the test track sux, but there is only one track that I'd drop from the game entirely, seattle. and thats because jumps DO NOT belong in road races!!!

repeat DO NOT!

I love lagauna seca tho:)
I was going to create a thread on this track but I thought it'd probably not make it on or get shipped to some dark corner of gtp where no one would see it sooooo....

do you guys think the cork screw in seca is harder than it was in gt3?
or am I just out of precatice?
the approach seems more dificult now and alot slipperyer.
