Why waste my time racing against bloody family saloons. I want to get to the fast racing :). I also can't stand racing NY or Tokyo, utter crap tracks.

Whats wrong with racing more everyday cars, to me thats were alot of the fun is?

Its what gt has always been about a huge variety of cars, i can have loads of fun chucking the slower cars around the tracks

Racing cars that do 0-60 in 12 seconds against braindead AI is NOT fun to me. I do like taking these cars for a spin on the nurb etc though. I like racing large to turbo nutter cars, frankly I want to go as fast as possible. The last test on the iA license, now THATS what I'm talking about. Insane :D.

I don't mind them on small tracks, but take them out on the long ones and it's better than sleeping pills.

you really can't say that driving a citroen C5 is anything remotely similar to fun.

The only thing I'll say, is don't knock it till you try it. So far GT4 is the best damn racing game I've ever played. But I'm still gonna get Forza. You can't do an accurate comparison of two games when one of them isn't out yet.

try golding S - 8

I'm simply find doing license tests over and over mind numblingly boring. So no. I did do all silvers in the first license though for some crappy car though, that's as far as I'll go. I'm probs not good enough to get golds anyway.

Currently over 15% through the game, have about 32 cars and roughly 200k to spend :). iA license.

The thing is, in real life racing those more "normal" cars would be fun, but in GT4 low speeds are quite fustrating.

amen, and dont knock it if you aint good, i cant stand n00bs saying how crap games are when frankly they cant even play (not saying anyone here is a noob)

Then gold A - 16, very very fun.

Why the hell did you even buy GT4? seriously if you dislike the key gameplay why did you bother buying it? its no secret this is what gran turismo is about

more fool you

I myself couldn't really get into GT1-3 (maybe cuz I sucked too much) but after playing other quality racing games I guess I developed skillz, and have gotten about 9 days straight of enjoyment so far out of GT4.

I still want to play Forza before I make my descision on which is better.

sure you aren't.

anyway, Getting golds is fun for a small fraction of the tests (the one you mentioned is one of them), but a lot of them are depressingly tedious, so I'd rather spend my time driving cars I like on tracks I like and learning their characteristics.

I spent 3 hours yesterday with a shelby series 1 on nurburgring, suzuka, el capitan, and seattle.

that is a sweet car.

sure you aren't.

I'll glady accept any challenge, i have a AR max drive to prove my replays.

i do think 72 golds in 3 days (im a PAL GT4er) isnt n00b.

but I think if you are looking for real fun challenges you should try some lisence tests, some are boring, some are tedious and some are downright annoying but some are really really fun. throwing a stock RX-7 around a section of the ring is soo much fun.

I quoted you because you said you can't stand n00bs (god I hate that word) but you weren't calling anyone a n00b. Which I doubt because you posted it right after code_kev said he didn't like license tests.

I don't call anyone "n00bs" because I think it's a retarded thing to say, and only insults the person who says it.

I suck at GT4, so I can only get golds in about 1 in every 5 license tests. So no thank you to the challenge.

no i wasnt calling code_kev a noob, i was just saying how some people come in and say how crap games are when they cant even play them!!.

okay cool.

I thought you meant that people are noobs (theres that word again!) if they don't want to or can't get all Golds

I dont understand how you can think about the problems all the time??? just play the games and enjoy! :D

I just say one thing: when GT5 come to PS3 it will brake through everything!!! it will rule you all, and most of all me! :D :D :D

oh, I don't think about them ALL the time. just most of the time. I'm a critical bastard. Mind you I enjoy GT4 immensely, despite my rambling.

I dont care what anyone says, I'm very happy with gt4's physics because the 88 Mk2 and the 74 2004 bmw handle like their real life counter parts. I have done a little sport driving on tracks in my local area. I have driven old school 350x's, old school rx-7's, newer rx-7's, rx-8, 350z. Hell I even got the chance to drive a skyline Gtr which aren't sold in my country. I remember how all those cars handle and gt4 simulates them with great realism. I believe people who have actually driven the cars that are in gt4 and actually made a comparsion should critize gt4's physics engine. a racing being very diffcult doesn't always equal realistic. I bet if Kaz made it were you can could do uncalled for spin outs, gt4 would magically be teh uber "hardcore sim" or whatever. the Ferrari F355 sim is alot harder than the GTR sim but I see so many people saying GTR has better physics.

would you be offended if I didn't believe you? Because I don't. what's a 350X anyway?

Compared to proper sims, GT4's physics engine sucks. It has nothing to do with difficulty or whatever, the game just doesn't simulate tyres/suspension etc the way it should. The result of that is weird looking car movement and wrong tyre characteristics and in GT4's case: racecars which are too easy to control.
(LFS S1 is the opposite, due to lack of dynamic camber and proper tyre physics the cars slide more than they should)

GT4 is still a fun game. However, I cannot understand people who are against a more realistic physics engine. If you like simplified car behaviour then play with driving aids on(like alot of people already do in GT4).
This way the simjunky's can still enjoy amazing physics, it would have so much more replay value for me. :)

please shut the hell up your wrong, the physics engine seriously doesnt suck
play the game then talk, now go back to the forza thread!

The car movement is about as real as it can get, cars react just like you would except them to

i also dont care about ifinate variables huge number of physics calculations and all that other technical garabage, as long as the game looks and feels right which GT4 definatly does

pak ive got 2 letters and a number for you

PS2

if it was a PC game, then the expectations maybe higher, but hell we have a ps2 sim that is competeting agains teh best pc sims.
