Nope...
not impressed.

Gran Turismo 4 WILL be much better than this valiant attempt at a true racing sim.

That's okay, Microsoft...just hope that Halo2 will sell lots of units.

LOL in the vid the guy says concerning the online mode "we would never think about shipping it without it (it being online mode)". If that's not a dig at PD, I dunno what is lol. Kinda made me laugh though. I'm sad like that.

well, put it into perspective.

Microsoft first party titles have to have online support. It's expected of them now. They gotta plug their service, so the best way to do it is make live play a pretty much standard feature, so people get accustomed to it and get dissapointed when there isn't.

It's pretty clever, if sneaky.

Sony, on the other hand, doesn't rely on online marketing to a great extent. They just sit back and watch their units fly off the shelves.

good point, Kinigitt.

Since you already have to pay for the XBox network, there is no reason for them to release a game that will not utilize a money making device already in place.

I, for one, will NEVER pay to play my Box online.
Online networks for individual games should be free.

DevilGTx, xbox connect....it's 100% free. Plus $5 or what ever you would pay a month is hardly bank breaking considering the servers MS has to host, and the massive range of features it has.

that's not true.

The service costs them a lot of money to run, and a lot of money to advertise.

Plus, it runs really well and people can't complain about it.

Sony doesn't charge for theirs because...well...it's garbage quite frankly.

you are exactly right, kinigitt.
"foot in the door"

Wow, we should all just realize that right now.
MS is trying hard, right?
How hard can they be trying when they have a million other things to do?
Like making me a Service Pack for their gd OS that doesn't make more holes!!!

Well, they're gonna have some crushed toes...I can tell ya' that right now.

simply because Microsoft GAMES studios has nothing whatsoever to do with their other branches.

The developers aren't Microsoft's windows monkeys, they're responsible for making their own games, which microsoft publishes.

You don't see people complaining that PD isn't trying hard enough because they're too busy designing television sets.

Front, I some how doubt that's actually running on a console lol, it's at like a bazzillion res lol

Still games companies have been copying each other for years, hardly anything new, and alot of the copies can be damn good.

I agree, I can't say any games amazed for a VERY long time. Half life 2 may change that though ;)

The textures are loverly and sharp though, you can read all the tiny stickers on it and everything which is nice.

that's true, the resolution is cranked to infinity plus one.

Is it just me, or dose Forza look like they have wheel/tires by Crayola?

b

yeah they look funky in every screen shot except the ones with the TVR.

The tires are always too fat and the wheel diameters too small.

Some pictures it looks like the whole car is drawn in crayon. Someone said that Forza has realistic lighting and that hurts the appearance. GT uses suggested shadows, ie the paint scheme has slight variations to give the impression of shadows on the car.

Hmm that shot reminds me heavily of a PC screenshot, is it possible Forza won't be only an Xbox exclusive? Drivers very calm and at an easy angle for being that much sideways. lol

...which is great for screenshots but when you watch a replay you feel cheated.

I wonder how PD will implement dynamic lighting in GT5 when they don't have hardware limitation excuses. Should be something else...

you can judge how calm he is ?

All I see is a helmet, unless the said helmet has facial features I don't know about :)

I knew you would pick up on that, what I mean is he's very umm "sunday driver", there's no sign of his body controlling the car, his head direction was what made me think it. If you watch WRC or drifting vids the drivers have emotion and movements that show they are working on controlling car. Just a personal observation is all, GT4 has the same thing except for the open-top cars where you see the driver wrestling and fighting with the car.

That is all.
